  1. Mihajlovic has obviously assessed the situation. He sees him everyday in training and trusts him to play right wing back. He was one of the best full backs in the world himself when he played there. So im going to trust his judgement. Also Tierney has been playing left centre back for us. So there is certainly space for him. And there has been opportunities for hickey to be in the squad. Which he obviously should have been already.
  2. Because it was disastrous in Denmark? Yeah Robertson didn't look comfortable at all, if we were going to try that again it would have to be Tierney on the right.
  3. Hickey should have been in the squad ages ago. Now were in a bit of a pickle with patterson not getting any game time at Everton. The move would be bringing in hickey and playing him at right wing back (which despite all the disbelief on here, hes shown he can do easily). Hes done excellent in Italy and how hes been missing out for so long is just bizarre. If we bring O'donnell back in and start with him its got the makings of a disaster.
  4. Can he be capped?? I've never read he had any eligibility, if he can get him in. But surely it would have been discussed already.
  5. Ill admit I've not seen anything of Mckenna recently, so don't know what hes likes now. But I think saying he was decent on the ball at abredeen is certainly a stretch. Its the one thing he was always severely lacking. Considering his physical attributes if he was decent on the ball he would have been playing at a much higher level much sooner. He looked awkward in possession often, and likely to make a rash challenge or mistake even if he has plenty of time. As mentioned previously when he came on against Croatia he looked nervous and out of his depth. Im certainly not writing the guy off. He was also a good defender and read the game well players. Players can improve, and technique and composure is something he can develop. I can see a future with McKenna as one of the first choice centre backs, but only if he's got better. Or gets better.
  6. Why is it relevant if he was as good as Joe Jordan or not? He isn't. But so what, hes clearly one of the best we have now. Are we going to start doing this for every player in the squad, comparing them to any player in our history and saying their not good enough?
  7. I dont even think this should necessarily rule him out. He might be gorging at the salad bar.
  8. If you look over every thread you might find I've been bang on in everything I've said. And never once had to backtrack
  9. Short staffed at the New Den burger stand, I presume? It just goes to show that anything can happen. Theres alot of variables to whether a young footballer can reach their potential. When he was like 17 or 18 and playing for forest he looked an unbelievable prospect. Then transferring to rb leipzig he had the chance of a great career. I remember him coming off the bench in his first game and changing the game and getting an assist. Fast forward 5 years and he's never even once matched his yearly goal tally for forest. And he's now on loan at Millwall, which he will no doubt fail again. It wouldn’t surprise me now if he retires early.
  10. He is playing well at the moment, I've had my doubts about wether hes a top top level player in the past. But a succession of man u managers have trusted him and he's getting better. Futures looking good for us in midfield.
  11. That was touted at a time (quite sensibly) when we were so short of options at right back. Now were full to the gunnels with shit hot young right backs. Which just goes to show if we all say it enough then they appear. I might bump the gk and striker thread
  12. I only know what I have read, which is hes an attacking midfielder. Whos played for England u16s already unfortunately.
  13. Everton need to improve their scouting, they could have saved themselves 15.8 million and bought the apparently superior Stephen O'donnell. Wonder why they didn't just buy both *Every red dot here is someone embarrassed at how wrong they were
  14. Ignore function, thank me later. Happy new year everyone
  15. Another one is Luka Modric, who with a similar physical stature might be a good comparison. He was still playing in the Croatian league until he was 22. I've a feeling Billy could do ok for AC Sambonifacese, or Dinamo Zagreb. The norwich loans not went quite as well as we hoped (most of us anyway). But its far from a disaster, plenty time left in the season to turn it around. Alot of people rate gilmour, its hard to find pundits who don't.
  16. Some decent points, I agree with most of this. But Le Tissier could have left whenever he wanted, he never wanted to leave. And I think Mascherano at West ham was more unbelievably bad management and being overlooked. Rather than him not performing well
  17. It could just be they have a different opinion to yourself.
  18. Can people stop quoting clownshoes and just stick him on ignore
  19. Im not dismissing your opinion on gilmour, im sure its as valid as anyone else's. But to say that both bent and ambrose decided to say they really rated gilmour. As some kind of off the cuff wind up is absolutely ridiculous. And I'm dismissing that.
  20. They will be looking for bites? Because they played for Ipswich? Fantasy land stuff here
  21. Their talking about this very topic at the moment on talksport. To paraphrase Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose. Their both basically saying they can't understand norwich fans. Basically gilmour is their best player, and the other players aren't on his level. They also think he should get recalled to Chelsea to play due to their shortage in midfield currently. Or go on loan to a better team where he can excel. They both think hed an excellent player and mentioned he was the best player on the pitch vs england. Norwich fan on just now saying its a small minority of fans giving him stick.
  22. No, that's me! (apparently) I thought you were CID?
  23. Apparently you don't support any team so no your not investing anything. Ok so you think scotland fans overrate their players, and that apparently doesn't bother you. So you have come on to make this point repeatedly. For what reason?
  24. The point hes making is your not a scotland fan. So if you think some scotland fans overrate the players, why does that bother you? I think alot of the English players are overrated by the English, I dont spend my time logging onto their forums specifically to tell them that. Because it doesn't bother me, and I'm not an absolute fanny.
  25. Funnily enough Im one of the only folk on here big enough to admit to getting something wrong. But in this instance its not me who was wrong.
