  1. As yesterday wasn't a meeting of the Management Committee, Rovers would have been represented by Frank Meade.
  2. You're making that last one up, and probably most of the rest as well.
  3. I'd question the part in bold. Football fans, as well as those officially involved in the game, have very long memories.
  4. Was it on here, Livi Lions, or elsewhere? I certainly don't remember such a post, and on re-checking the match threads on both this site and Livi Lions I can't find any post stating that there was 100 Livi fans and by extension 500 Rovers fans. The only post that come close on here is this one by the owner of the Rovers' site but it makes no mention of numbers. He also made a pretty much identical post on Livi Lions. There's also a claim of 300 Rovers supporters made by another of our number later in the same Livi Lions thread. By the way, the victim mentality is getting a bit wearing now as well.
  5. Who claimed that? Our average gate last season was in the low 300s, so there's no way there would have been 500 Rovers fans there. I reckon we're down to 200 - 250 home regulars and 20 - 50 away nowadays depending on the fixture.
  6. I quite agree. Shire are the only real losers in all of this and should be compensated.
  7. I see the moderators on Livi Lions are losing the plot and banning fans of other clubs. Even the very reasonable Millfield Marksman has been booted off now.
  8. Thanks for that. I had a feeling that there were no set penalties. Oh well, Livi are fucked then - buyer or no buyer!
  9. I have a couple of questions which Hibee Jibee or Skyline Drifter might be best placed to answer. Is there a limit on the penalty for not fulfilling a fixture? Could the club be expelled for this regardless of whether the administrator has a potential buyer for a 3rd Division Livi?
  10. The reason for that is that only one train operates the service. Therefore, with a two hour one-way journey span, services can only be spaced at 4 hour plus intervals . To be fair to Scotrail, I doubt there's realkly a demand for much more capacity on that line. Anyway, as you're getting in to Stranraer fairly late, you'll be able to get a few extra pints and a fish supper after the game - just pretend you're in Largs as you wander along the front eating your chips (there are similarities once you're out of the Town Centre). It's actually a shame I didn't notice this earlier as I'm sure one of the Stranrarer guys (Jimmy McCabe) is Glasgow based and will likely drive down. That might have saved you a few quid, or at the very least gave you a companion for the train.
  11. This is obviously off-topic but I think you might be getting confused with Celtic v Rapid Vienna in 1984. That game wasn't played behind closed doors, but the second leg (Celtic's home match) was replayed in Manchester due to a bottle throwing incident at Celtic Park. Fans were allowed into the Manchester match. Thereafter, Celtic were forced to play Atletico Madrid behind closed doors the following season as further punishment for the incident detailed above.
  12. We've got them the week after you in the CIS Cup. It's bit of a pain, as it would be a good boost if we could take them on and beat them. It's also not ideal to have a competitive game on 25th July and then nothing until 8th August - there might not be any suitable opposition available for a friendly on 1st August either.
  13. Once you've served, you can knock back any citations received within the following five years. As my spell was August 2002 then I'm liable to go if called, although I would probably draft a letter for my boss to get me out of the first citation - that normally delays it for a year or so as I did it back in early 2001. As for traumatic cases, I have heard of judges allowing life-time exemptions in certain cases but the examples I remember were all English cases. I'm therfefore not sure whether it is possible under the rules of the Scottish Courts Service. It certainly wasn't offered in the case I was on, which whilst bad was still only a Sheriff Court trial. I'm pretty sure the High Court would see far more harrowing cases.
  14. It was absolutely horrible and I ended up angry with myself because I'd been looking forward to it. I just thought it would be a robbery or an assault or whatever - talk about naive!
  15. It might not be a very pleasant experience. I got picked for the first time about seven years ago having been looking forward to it as an experience just like you. However, it was a child abuse case within a family and was absolutely harrowing. I'm in no hurry to return I have to say.
  16. Her posting became very infrequent after the (in)famous spat with Ric and reached the point where she just seemed to give up. Whilst I won't claim to be all that interested in the topics she was passionate about (breast-feeding, gardening etc.), she did add a bit of variety and a decent amount of knowledge to the Board
  17. Ooft! Prepare yourself for a rather large lecture. It's a shame HGG isn't about - it would be even longer.
  18. That's a decent gap. If your older kid is quite responsible then you'll get quite a bit of help from them - helping with baths, changing, keeping an eye on the wee one if you nip upstairs for something etc. We have a six year gap and the older boy is really patient with his wee brother.
  19. They'll advertise it as before but probably with a longer period for submissions. I assume the unsuccessful applicants from last year will apply again, although it will be interesting to see whether Celtic take an interest or whether than idea is dead in the water.
