  1. Excellent stuff, as always. Any plans to get the guys to do more regular 'shows' e.g. after each quarter of the season?
  2. That was fantastic! It looks like you're finding it hard to kick the bug of making these, which is great for those of us who love listening to them
  3. You sure it wasn't Gartsherrie rather than Townhead? The Gartsherrie Bowling Club has always been quite sympathetic to those who wear sashes.
  4. I found it uncomfortable rather than really sore with the worst being a dull ache at the bottom of my stomach. Having to shave my baws beforehand was far worse than that actual procedure, to be honest.
  5. Yeah, I've been to Kasimpasa, which is the most central of the Istanbul clubs being just 10 mins from Taksim Sq. Tickets go up on Biletix about 3 weeks before the games and you collect them on the day. The cheapest seats are for the Kapali Tribune behind the North goal. This is where the ultras go, but there's only about 200 of them and five times that in terms of seats, so you'll not get any hassles. Anybody we spoke to was perfectly friendly as well; they seem used to tourists coming along as they're so easy to get tickets for. The only time they ever sell out is for matches against the three big Istanbul clubs. Istanbul is a fantastic city. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.
  6. Lol! Her old man is on the Rovers Board; I'll put a word in for you.
  7. It would have passed the Clutha on the way back from Bargeddie. The approach to the helipad from the East involves heading along the river from about Glasgow Green.
  8. Do you ever take the boat for a 'run' down the canal? With a bit of planning, you could use it to travel to away games.
  9. You ditch the Perth idea then? Will hopefully catch up with you when you're back up; visits to the Angus clubs mean I'm in Dundee quite a bit.
  10. They released Jack in May. Last I heard he was living back home in Essex and on trial with Gillingham.
  11. R,I,P indeed. I actually didn't realise it was as long as that. I wonder whether he would have went on to manage the Pars; he certainly always struck me as management material and was clearly a Dunfermline legend.
  12. He doesn't have to if it's a short absence. I can absolutely see why you're annoyed though; I also have no time for liberty takers. Still, here's hoping he's first up for redundancy ahead of those with a bit of respect for their colleagues and employer.
  13. It's hard to see what action an employer could take though without leaving themselves wide-open to complain/legal action. They really need hard-and-fast proof and that's hard to get when you're dealing with someone's personal life. I actually speak with some experience here as my wife was summarily dismissed in November for having gone sick on a day that she had been unable to secure leave for. Thing is, she was genuinely ill and had actually been hospitalised on the day in question, and was then medically certified by her GP on leaving hospital. Cue reinstatement, disciplinary action against the mangers concerned, and grovelling apologies all round when the various pieces of medical paperwork were presented.
  14. I got: Lots of socks, but then I suppose I am nowadays considered 'a man of a certain age'; Slippers - see age comment immediately above; Watch; Guinness glass and coaster (but no Guinness!); Guinness mug Toffees and jelly beans; Inbetweeners and Broons annuals; Drink money (£20) Still, the kids got fucking ridiculous amounts of stuff, and Christmas is, after all, more about them
  15. There's been a very slight fall here (East Glasgow) overnight but it's already turned to ice. Just nipped out to the bin there and it's seriously cold.
  16. £800 is miles better than what the young kids are being quoted and reflects the relative risk. Indeed, were I to lose my no-claims bonus, I'd be paying about £800 too (I'm also in my late 30s).
  17. I was going to have a moan about having tonsilitis and not being able to sleep, but that pales into insignificance by several million degrees compared to what is above. I sincerely hope it's good news for you on Wednesday; for a young man to be going through what you are really doesn't bear thinking about.
  18. Aw f**k! The Rovers are on the verge of promotion and the world is going to end... it's no fair Could they not wait until Monday?
  19. They'd run a fucking mile too if he reacted to them; not a man to be trifled with is Armand, and racist abuse is far more than being trifled with.
  20. Absolutely. Don't forget SQL Server though. Microsoft's ubiquitous contracts with Government organisations mean it is more prevalent than you might think.
  21. Seriously, I'd be happy to try and help, although I'm probably a bit rusty on the design side of things nowadays.
