  1. He may well still go, there's are others who may be surplus to requirements like Robertson, Boyd, Foster, Dingwall, Franks. These are just my suggestions as I can't see then all being first team picks, especially if we go with three at the back so there's room to free up wages if required.
  2. Yup, we've been crying out for a first XI left winger, Gardyne filled that role last season but he's far more effective on the right or centre. GMS and one more central midfielder and we're good to go
  3. He is or at least was on paternity leave, I've no idea how long these things last for nowadays. The Boyd family have been blessed with a beautiful wee girl and at this time Scott's priority should be to be at home looking after his wife and young family. I find this rift thing and been forced to train away from everyone else a little bizarre tbh. It may well be that Scott has to move on, I don't think it would be done through any malice or due to some petty vandetta, just circumstance! I would have thought that Scott would recognise that his playing time is likely to be limited and I'd expect him to want to play as much as he can so I'd half expect him to be looking for what opportunities are available for him for the coming season anyway. If Scott were to leave he would always be held in high regard and welcome back at Viccy Park if ever he were about.
  4. Sounds very petty. To be fair i'd have expected anyone to be fined for forgetting their bag. Surely Scott Boyd is on paternity leave at the moment?
  5. Is someone trouble making here, Boyd left the training camp in Budapest early due to the premature birth of his daughter. I was led to believe he's been on leave to spend time with his family at this important time, therefore it makes sense that he's training by himself at different times of the day.
  6. Davies staying isn't good, I'd rather we gave Fraser playing time at right side of central defence (Quinn centre, McEveley left). It would add some pace and help develop Fraser. I'd encourage Davies to find a new club, he was voted into the Premiership team of the year for God sake, surely his agent can find him somewhere in the north of England! I'd have no regrets with letting Roberton Boyd Dingwall or Franks go. All three are squad players at best. Obviously Dingwall or Franks leaving would heighten our need for more width. I'd be annoyed if Cikos or Foster were forced out as a result of Davies staying. I like Boyd as a chap, but no room for sentiment and Roy should know that in business. We NEED another central and wide midfielder!
  7. It's just the same at our (County's) home games too. The last game of the season saw several supporters going wholly bat mental at our own Martin Woods, it led to several heated arguments women and kids walking out to get away from the nonsense. This wasn't from young neds but old barstewards 55+ We'd just had our most successful season in our history and the final home game was left like that, crazy! Guy's of that age, if they'd been fans that long would have seen County rise through all the leagues and find themselves sitting in a tidy wee stadium yet are still full of bitterness and bile, I just don't understand it.
  8. I'd still like to see us sign someone to play wide left. Some Aberdeen fans seem to think Pawlett could be on his way out, maybe worth a go?
  9. I'm hoping Fraser isn't too far away from playing again after his operation. I think he's taylor made to play that right side in a back three beside Quinn and also with Gardyne in front of him. He'd also offer more pace to cover for balls over the top.
  10. What's Pawlett's contract situation like, would he be available on loan? I think he could be the direct wide player we could do with at Victoria Park.
  11. From today's P&J https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/spo...line-1824/?How Christopher Routis will fill the void left by Jackson IrvineRoss County midfielder Christopher Routis has set his sights on filling the void left by recently-departed Jackson Irvine and ultimately follow him in moving to a higher level. Frenchman Routis joined County from Bradford City this summer, ending a two-year stint with the English League 1 side, having previously played for Swiss club Servette.County are light in midfield after Australian international Irvine’s £300,000 move to English Championship side Burton Albion, giving Routis the chance to cement his place in the middle of the park. The 26-year-old is likely to start tonight’s Betfred Cup tie against Alloa Athletic, with Martin Woods sidelined by a knee injury picked up in Saturday’s game against Raith Rovers.Routis is determined to make the most of his opportunity and said: “That’s why I came here. Like all of the players in the squad, I want to play every game, start every game.“Jackson is a very good player. I saw that when I joined training here and in the friendly games. Now he has moved to the English Championship, so that provides an opportunity for me to take his position.“I need to work hard now and prove myself.“I came here aspiring to play every game. I hope to have a big season and have a carrot at the end, like Jackson.“That’s what Jackson did – he performed very well and earned his move.“I’m really happy to be here but, like every player, I want to play at the highest possible level. We are in the top league in Scotland and it’s good. But I want to play at a higher level. I need to prove I can play here first and, after that, I expect more.”Routis missed the early part of pre-season after picking up a calf injury on the first day of training but has now worked his way back to fitness and replaced Woods for the second-half of Saturday’s match against Raith. He is pleased to have overcome the early setback, and added: “The injury was a really bad start for me and my head was down a little bit. But I knew I had time to recover and I worked hard on my own. Now I feel part of the group.“I played 30 minutes in Budapest and I played 45 minutes in Saturday’s game. Like everyone, I need minutes on the pitch, but since we came back from Hungary I have put in extra work on my own after training to catch up with the other players.“I am starting to feel better and better physically and I think I’m ready to play, although I know I’ll feel better after a couple of games.” Woods is out injured after that bad tackle against raith. Routis & McShane it is then
  12. I agree with you Countyfan I wasn't referring to you or your post as being haters, just that it amazes me how angry some in the East Stand get to ALL things Martin Woods, it might be amusing if it wasn't abuse. What's your thoughts on my comment on all all four of our strikers being first teamers and probably the best we've ever had?
  13. Hahaha a new season and here we go again... I'd like to see Graham start some more matches, maybe alongside Curran for a change. Craig was so helpful in a majority of Liam's goals I'm sure he could be just as beneficial to Brian Graham too. I think the reality is that we are blessed with four first choice strikers, imo each are the best we have ever seen at Victoria Park, the manager has a real job on his hands keeping them all happy, and if we still have all four once the transfer window has closed I'll be very happy. Also nice to see Martin Woods being rewarded with the captains armband (until he was kicked off the pitch and subbed at ht) Keep the haters hating Martin!
  14. Remember to turn the lights off on your way out now, ta ta
  15. I thought it was said St Mirren were interested but never heard of him signing for anyone yet.
  16. Wow, i popped in here to see how the jam tarts are gearing up for the new season but there seems to be a collection of lower league posters in this thread.
  17. Fox Cikos Davies McElevery Franks McShane Routis Woods Gardyne Curran Schalk There's still Fraser, Foster, Van der Weg, Robertson, Boyd and obviously Quinn to replace Davies once he's back fit. As for options in the midfield Foster, McLaughlin and Dingwall can offer options for out wide, i'd like us to sign a natural left footer to allow us to put Midge back on the right more. Through the middle there's maybe Foster or Dingwall but i dont think any of us would be convinced by either. The only other real option may be of playing either Curran or Boyce in a deeper role, which could work well if we had two central midfielders but we could certainly do with another option. Hopefully our attacking options stay the same as we are good up top imo.
  18. Over to Jim and Billy now, i'm sure this situation has been foreseen and they will have plans in place to build the team. Ive heard some mention that this could give Lovejoy his chance but there's also this new French lad Routis, could he play a holding role beside Woods or McShane? I don't really know enough about him yet.
  19. Sad news for the team and definitely a loss due to his strength in the air. Hardly disastrous though SH, and explains the surprise signing of Jay McEveley. When can we expect Quinn to be back fit and in the team? I would be concerned if we were without Quinn and Davies for a prolonged period at the start of the season.
  20. Any team news from today's match against Soroksar?I've heard that me we went one up in nine minutes but they equalised just before halftime but no idea on scorers.
  21. I wouldn't have thought so myself, Curran contributed so much to Boyce's goal streak, Schalk's pace and directness added to craig's workrate could be potent for us, I hope anyway!
