  1. So who do you killie fans want to get the job? I think you've dodged a built with john hughes taking over at raith just the other day.
  2. He's allowed us to play Marcus Fraser in central defence and has been a more attacking right back than Marcus seemed comfortable with. All good so far.
  3. Strange as it doesn't seem to be in our own interest, which ever way you look at it, other than been a nice club who likes to help other clubs out.
  4. Erm, no he hasn't. He's a decent player but not quite good enough at the moment. You can read what you want into stats but that statement about his crossing is just inaccurate. He's not even the best crosser from The County's right wing, never mind the team, or the whole bloody league! I'd imagine he'd be a good loan signing for the Championship though. Can't see him getting anywhere near the team with Jim O'Brien and Lalkovic just signed.
  5. You may well get your wish, the bbc report that he's currently travelling to Cairo to discuss personal terms with two clubs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38725104
  6. We've been so lucky with Midges form and fitness for the last two seasons. We depend on him so much and perhaps take him for granted. When he's out like just now we are really lacking out wide, Burke looked good for a couple games but that's just been it a couple games, no use really. For me Franks and Dingwall just don't cut it and are surplus to the squad so the signing of O'Brien and Lalkovic are huge for us and shows that Jim and Billy are intent on sticking with our high tempo attacking style, personally I love it even though we can end up getting gubbed like in the celtic match where we just went all out for it. I'm delighted Jim O'Brien has signed and had such a good debut. I'm just a bit gutted I'm going to have to wait until motherwell on 31st before I get to see a game.
  7. Hopefully just allowed an extended break to be with his family. He's had quite a bit of game time this season.
  8. Wow, I was happy with O'Brien and Naismith signing up but a left winger and a 6"3' central midfielder too Happy days
  9. Hahaha, like aberdeen could afford to buy the leagues top goal scorer, if he goes anywhere it'll be england.
  10. I'm not convinced that either Franks or Dingwall are good enough as wide players at this level. I'd even rather see McLaughlin given match time at wide left, he can certainly cross a good ball into the box. Welcome to The County Jim O'Brien
  11. Highly unlikely, he's played his way back into the fringes of their first team.
  12. There's clearly got to be some decisions made with regard to our defense. Jay McEveley signed a two year deal so I'd expect one of Davies or Quinn to move on, maybe even both but I'd expect one to stay. I like big Kenny Van Der Hitman and think he's settled in well at left back and could cover in the center of required too. Is he signed up for next season or is he likely to extend his deal?
  13. I like the sound of this lad Naismith, he's Scottish, he's been in the st mirren first team for four or five years and has played about 100 first team games, which is good experience for a 22 years old. I'd expect Cikos to leave, it's a shame as I rate him but I can fully understand that he would want first team football. If Fraser's contract is running out I'd fully expect him to be offered one asap and hope that he'd sign it too.
  14. Well with it being the winter shutdown and also the transfer window, there's not much chat. With Liam Boyce currently out on his own as the league's top goalscorer, it highly likely it'll have been brought to the attention of some oligarch chairman from england. Liam's still got at a bit to go on his contract and with recent rumours of the league's equal 3rd top goalscorer worth anything between £10m-£25m, who's likely to be interested and what kind of money would it take to sign Liam?
  15. The below article was in the Inverness Courier; http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport...122016.htmANDREW Davies will sit down with his family and decide his long-term future, if Ross County put a new contract on the table for him. His current contract expires in the summer and before the start of this season, Davies raised concerns about his family being homesick in the Highlands.Manager Jim McIntyre has intimated to the former club captain that he would like the former Middlesbrough, Stoke and Bradford City man to extend his stay in Dingwall, although no contract extension has been offered yet.It was a challenging period for Davies and his wife Lucy, who have young sons Hugo and Jensen to think about too. However, after some frank family discussions, Davies agreed to “knuckle down” and continue giving his all for County, who he skippered to League Cup glory just months previously.Family will always come first for the experienced centre-half and he is quick to thank both McIntyre and the club for how the situation has been handled. It is very much a wait-and-see situation for him at present, until an official offer from the club is made.“If you ask any player, your family always comes first. I said to my wife that we had to knuckle down, but I’ve done that my whole career. We’ve lived in different places and she’s followed me all the way - I’m really proud of her,” said Davies. “It is tough but the main thing is the club are paying your wages, you’ve got to go out and do a job, regardless if you’re unsettled or not. I feel like that’s what I’ve been doing.“The manager wants me to stay. Because we’re doing so well and moving in the right direction, you don’t want to lose players and I can fully understand that. But I’ve got to look at my own situation and evaluate everything, the pros and cons. But the main thing is I’m enjoying my football here.“If something’s put on the table, I’ll have a chat with the family to see what the best way forward is. My time here, whether long or short-term, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. The manager and fans have been fantastic with me, so let’s see what happens.“It’s hard to put into words. With the wife and kids, they miss home but they enjoy it up here. The kids are in school up here.“Sometimes you’ve got to bite your tongue and get on with it. There was a lot of speculation in the summer over my future and I’m proud of my wife, my kids and myself for the way we’ve cracked on and we’ve just got to see what happens.”Davies is one of 12 County players out of contract in the summer, with fellow defenders Paul Quinn, Marcus Fraser and Kenny van der Weg also seeing their deals up at the end of the season.Dutch full-back van der Weg was given a straight red card late on in the 2-1 win over Aberdeen, with County hoping referee Craig Thomson will take a second look at his decision, which came in the closing stages when he lunged at Jonny Hayes. In spite of the barrage of attacks coming from those in red, the Staggies managed to cause problems of their own with Alex Schalk in particular a threat. However, Davies played a key role in Ryan Dow’s dramatic winner as he steered Jonathan Franks’ cross into Dow’s path.“I played at Middlesbrough with Jonathan Franks and I know, as soon as he gets one-on-one with someone, he’s going to get the ball in. It was a fantastic ball in and I’ve just managed to get something on it, it’s nice to get an assist,” said Davies.“I thought if they broke though, I was going to be in big trouble!” It sounds quite promising that he may extend his time up here with County. We just need to decide what direction we want to go in (as far as spending the wage budget goes). IMO he's quite clearly one of the best defenders in the league he seems to be enjoying his football with us, I'd get him signed up on a two year deal asap.
  16. I've heard that it could be a hamstring injury. I hope that is inaccurate and it is something minor. Franks looked lively when he replaced Gardyne, it could be him and Tony as our width against PT on Friday night. Any updates on we may have Burke back in the team??
  17. Liam extended his contract with us either just before or just after our cup final win earlier this year. It'll take a few £ if anyone wants to sign him this January. He may well end up in the Championship but I doubt it'll be the Scottish version.
  18. Could be a good signing. I think it's likely that Cikos wants regular football, plus Davies and Quinn are out of contract and could both be on the move.
  19. After looking at the below article from the Scotsman I thought I ask to hear what are fellow County fans thoughts are for next season, and players with little time left on their contracts?http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/c...-1-4312547There's obviously quite a few players becoming available to sign come the 1st on january, anyone we should be interested in?Ross County: Paul Quinn He’s an unfashionable centre-back coming to the end of his career. He’s also club captain. Typically, he’d be a shoo-in for a new contract. However, Ross County have been porous at the back since he returned from Aberdeen. A lot of that is not Quinn’s fault. They play in a 4-4-2 formation that doesn’t provide much protection for the centre backs and, in Andrew Davies, he has a playing partner very similar to him. Both struggle whenever play goes behind them as they lack pace. County have looked stronger in defence in recent weeks without him, which would normally cast doubts about his future, but then Davies is expected to leave in the summer. Is a Quinn-Jay McEveley pairing the partnership of the future? There’s a lot to sort out here for Jim McIntyre and co. If he can stay fit, County would love to keep Chris Burke around longer, even if he has recently turned 33. The system relies heavily on the wide players and Burke’s play has been key in what has otherwise been a struggling side this season. Davies, as mentioned, will probably leave with his family keen to return south. Erik Cikos could stick around but he’ll have to get back in the team first. Ryan Dow will, plainly, just have to start playing better. There is an interesting decision to be made up front with both Alex Schalk and Craig Curran sitting on expiring deals. Neither seems capable of cementing a starting job alongside Liam Boyce, and yet both are dependable talents at this level, especially Curran, who seems to bring out the best in Boyce. Then there’s Kenny van der Weg, Jonathan Franks and Martin Woods. As I said, there’s a lot for Jim McIntyre and co to sort out.Is Davies really expected to leave again, I think he's been in top form beside Jay these last couple of weeks? Maybe Fraser and Jay could be the future of our central defence if Davies and Quinn are going to leave? Can or should we try to resign Curran and Schalk again, neither have looked prolific so far this season?
  20. Yeah but we did win the Cup final, I have photos to prove I was there For those of you who were at the aberdeen match, how did our midfield line up before the red card. Was it like Franks Chow McShane Woods Gardyne Or was McShane sitting deep with maybe Gardyne supporting Curran? Where was Chow being played (before the red card), central or wide?
