  1. As braindead as the content of that interview is, it's quite sad seeing someone like that. Whether he's drunk, hungover or whatever he doesn't look healthy at all and looks very uncomfortable being there.
  2. It is outrageous really. You begrudgingly accept that a national broadcast on Scottish football is likely to frequently involve the two Glasgow best mates, it would be naive to suggest it shouldn't. But to go to the lengths of bringing on an Englishman with no knowledge of Scottish football, to talk about an Englishman, newly employed in English football who was briefly manager of rangers really is sticking two fingers up to the rest of Scottish football. There will be countless discussion points throughout Scottish football that would be better suited to sportsound. But they are simply not interested and have made the decision that listeners aren't interested.
  3. Indeed. But it is part of the talk sport job description. It really is an utter waste of energy to be even slightly bothered by talksport.
  4. No there is a series of articles out there of Rangers men saying the same thing. See Walter smith a few weeks ago. He's certainly not alone either. The guy hasn't mentioned the wider fan base.
  5. These Rangers men should really look up the definition of 'investment'.
  6. Pretty much this. I'm loathed to criticise the great man too much but he is a bit dismissive of a lot of Scottish football teams. Like you say he has a decent awareness of the tactical side of the game but generally is pretty negative throughout.
  7. Yeah yeah I get all that although it doesn't concern me that much. But in the context of this debate you know there are plenty of would be managers out there who do see them as a big club whether you like it or not.
  8. Surely a manager out there with options has huge concerns about taking on this job. Before anyone says it I get that it's a big club, famous job all of that stuff so there will be an appeal to it. But there's a fundamental issue for anyone who takes that job. If he doesn't win the league, if he is regularly beaten by Celtic. He will be hounded out as a failure. If the resources aren't there to compete with Celtic then surely it's just an impossible job, doomed to failure and a blot on your cv.
  9. Nope hes openly admitted from the start he was sceptical
  10. As a neutral (sort of) observer I agree with this. Hearts were (rightly I think) praised for going with a fresh approach in Cathro and I liked it too. But it is an experiment, he is young and inexperienced and still trying to put his stamp on the team. Bad results/shit performances are inevitable in that time. Judging him on one derby defeat is OF levels of narrow mindedness, until the guy gets a summer window and a proper pre-season let him get on with it IMO.
  11. It's been said many, many times but Pat Bonner really is awful. I listened on the drive back from Kilmarnock and he was on. "Before today I haven't seen Aberdeen play other than against Celtic, where they were very defensive, so this was different"
  12. Yeah when it's your lot it's just drunken idiots when it's Celtic singing about the ibrox disaster it's proof they're all scum and vice versa. Really, we've heard it all a million times.
  13. Typical diddies spouting shite like this just because rangers won again. Oh....
  14. I saw this and couldn't believe it either. The guy made a handful of appearances before making an arse of himself. Then he left. Ffs move on I guarantee you many things happened this weekend in Scotland that are far more noteworthy. Do rangers fans even care about what Barton did for Burnley?
  15. Absolutely this. I cringe when I hear Scottish folk talking about English football. Someone at work yesterday told me they were inconsolable watching arsenal the other night. He was from Inverness. And don't get me started on c***s talking about their English fantasy football team. 'Aye i transferred in James Milner and he got me an assist, made my weekend' So much cringe.
  16. I'm coming at this from virtually total ignorance so apologies but I am genuinely interested. Is it the case that unfortunate cup draws in the league cup and to a lesser extent the Scottish cup added to the disappointment? Realistically top 6 could still be achieved which wouldn't be that bad would it? Or is 6th not seen as much given the bottom 7 all seem to be fairly poor in terms of consistency.
  17. People at work who actually think I'm interested when I ask "How are you?" in the mornings.
  18. There are 3 cubicles in my works toilet and only one of them gets 4G signal on my phone. I have actually postponed shite's to make sure I have signal that I can use to kill part of my day on the toilet.
  19. I agree. Going back a few years I always felt he was a defender who could play well for 88 minutes but seemed to always have one or two major lapses in games which cost us but he really seems to have cut that out of his game as well as offering (admittedly limited) an attacking threat to his game. P.S. there appears to be a new red dot campaign against you
