  1. You just noticed? OneF was a different level mental when folk actually used it to be fair.
  2. You really amuse me. Thanks for dedicating so much time and effort to my amusement.
  3. Or how about he's played in games against some of the best in the world and done well.Something which McGinn or any (?) current Hibs players can claim. Except perhaps stokes, who is now crap and was years ago he was rubbing shoulders with top players down south. Oh yeah and he's not actually yours either.
  4. Not sure if you're fishing but I'll bite anyway. He far more to offer Scotland now than others who've been called up. I don't blame him. He's been playing consistently at a good level in England for years and not got a sniff.
  5. I'm not disputing that he done well in blooding the youngsters, and he did land some decent signings. Farid, Higginbotham, Taylor, Leahy were all excellent IMO. What I can't agree with though is that blooding the youngsters were somehow his plan or anyway his doing. His hand was forced and short of doing himself out of his first managerial job, and more than likely dent his chances or another role in management, he had to suck it up.

  7. Not everyone is in the prawn sandwich brigade like yourself. So what was his brief? Entertain us, it hardly matters now. I don't doubt that he done reasonably with us. But he was forced to work with the youngsters. Remember he thought when taking the job on that we'd be staying in the spl. What happened from that point forward was him trying to save face and maintain his ego. If he or the board had enough gumption to admit they got it wrong he'd a been on his was much sooner. IIRC we got money when he left. Outstanding deal considering he polarised the support and achieved nothing really.
  8. Sibbald and Alston were our academy players... We'd be more accurate saying Ross Wilson who I assume actually brought them to the club. Elvis played these guys as he had NO choice, don't make him out some kind of genius. What I will accept is that Elvis got a lot out his teams. But they weren't as good to watch as Holts team, and lost frequently to sides we should have been beating. Houston is getting much more out our players than Stubbs is getting from his. Houstie has proven he's a far better manager than Pressley IMO
  9. What if someone makes an offer for Leahy though?
  10. Just thinking, whilst we may still go up through playoffs assuming that we don't who do folk think we'll be likely to loose in the summer? Vaulks, Sibbs, Alston? Leahy? Would love to keep them but not sure if that's just pie in the sky if we don't go up. Not added Grant due to his injury - would be very happy with him and Muirhead at CH.
  11. Knowing us, yes but almost worth the risk if we could put them down.Would be devastated but not surprised of we failed to their benefit again.
  12. Hopefully after last week Baird is back on the goal trail after a dry spell. Not sure if he'll get one against QotS this weekend right enough.Would like to see more of O'Hara but it's hard to leave big Lee out when his link up play is so good. See no reason why we can't do a lot better though. Rather naively I still hold some hope that we can catch Hibs. Would be a massive boost in the playoffs to have one less round to play. Keeping an eye on bottom of Premier too - whilst nothing would please me more than putting Killie down, if we were to get that far and get them and not make id have a serious meltdown. They were dire against Rangers so defo think we could take them.
  13. Debut at 16 coming on as a sub then sent off against Stirling Albion IIRC. Think he then got first team slot at age 17.
  14. McQuilken was class the season he got injured. He'd walk into our current team.
  15. As you were there, was he more effective than Smith? All be it based on a single game.
  16. This this season at Livi he was being played as a LWB, which may be why he's not scored a great deal. I remember him being much more attacking with Livi last season.
  17. Knowing our luck he will turn up in a game against us. He's a league 1 player so clearly St Mirren building for next season lol ????
  18. Now now, your going to upset folk 'this is a multi club forum'
  19. That's a lot of posts on the back of a simple mistake, charge on though. I'll get back to my Friday night though ????
  20. What's folks thoughts on mehmet? I've no idea of the standard over in Malaysia so don't know how much weight his record there should hold. His end to st mirren career was hardly outstanding in terms of goals. Can't see him playing ahead of Miller or Baird?
  21. Agree with you mostly. Not sure about the income off field thing though. Are you including player sales? Prize money? We've generated a decent amount of both in the last 2 years.
