  1. Thought he looked decent enough having played a few games for us, IIRC when Holt was manager. Seems he's not kicked on at all, and not looking good if Stranraer released him too now.
  2. It's clear what you are saying about Sibbald and Alston seeming more like central players. But neither of them are better in the middle of a flat 4 than Taiwo, Kerr or Vaulks. Those three all have more dig defensively. If we were to play a diamond 4 Alston and Sibbs would both be good for playing behind the forwards. It's hard to suggest changing our winning formation though and with that in mind, I'd agree on a wide player....once we get RB sorted.
  3. And IMO very importantly - away fans to the right. I just wish they'd get away with a cage being put up.
  4. They should use cash to reduce capacity elsewhere in the stadium and spread out capacity more evenly round the pitch - safe standing may be more expensive but fans want it. The reduction in seats should allow for more office or leisure space that will increase footfall on non match days. (The above points were previously suggested by my mate to the club a couple of years ago - seems very sensible to me)
  5. Agree on Leahy. Not getting the credit he deserves IMO. Him and Vaulks are very sellable assets who didn't come through the academy, I hope we've got both on deals to 17/18.
  6. We're laughing - and last time I checked it was queens who were loosers!
  7. Queens won't be challenging Falkirk, we can all see that. I merely joined in the debate on the thread which was centred around whether that game was a must win. I said it was - unless expectations since the start of the season had changed. Perhaps your wisdom can enlighten me in terms of how you read that as not being about the game in question?
  8. Good point...however it would still develop him if he was picked and overall would be more valuable at the time he moves on (if he does which I hope he can do for his own benefit). Therefore wouldn't be as strong as 'utter disaster' IMO. We'll need to live without him at some point. On the subject of players leaving - I know Vaulks has had a patchy season so far by last seasons standards but if he keeps landing rockets like Saturday he will surely start attracting a lot of attention, would be a big loss for us even if we have quite a lot in CM in the squad.
  9. Yeah I was talking about the game, MT is coming on here trying to slag folk off for talking about crowd numbers - what's the point in that? Your dealing with being a QoS fan, not very well by all accounts ????
  10. Not really, just sharing my view on the FOOTBALL. 'This is a multi-club forum get over it' was what Queens fans told me earlier in the year. Like I say - Deal wi it pal
  11. Let's be honest MT needs to moan about something else now we're well ahead of them with a game in hand! 'Let's see where we are after the first round of fixtures' indeed - deal wi it! Again trying to stoke some kind of fantasy rivalry!
  12. Good points about RC and ICT being funded by money men. They are certainly not living within their means. Very Gretna if you ask me. Even Rangers suffered after their money man found himself broke like a joke. Doesn't mean they are 'well run clubs' just because they have success on the park - ridiculous suggestion from Monkey Tennis
  13. Seems like a few folk who have a track record of delivering real benefit to the club - not bad! Whether it delivers anything meaningful will depend entirely on the mechanics. Personally hopeful that it will work, fan engagement was previously at its highest when Kenny, Brian, Sarah and Michael were involved to some extent - see no reason why it can't get back to that.
  14. Harsh on Watson, he's best CH behind grant IMO. Keeper is a concern though, not sure if we could do anything without an injury or recall happening to be honest unless there's a free agent that wanted to come to us and was SPL standard as minimum.
  15. A bit of food for thought - we struggled to get points of both hearts and rangers last season but done pretty well against Hibs. Hearts are gone now, and Rangers look like they will be very strong...so if assume for a moment that we get the same results against everyone else we'll be 9 points better of this term. That's all just hypothetical though of course. The real crux is getting points off of Dumbarton, Alloa etc where we have cocked up frequently in the past.
  16. Great result against Patrick, they gave us a few frights in the 2nd half but we held on and we could have added a 2nd late on through a couple of chances despite a few scary moments at the back. Tom Taiwo should have burried his effort late on, but it didn't cost us and he done welll in the middle tonight. Kerr and Sibbald quiet again, mom performance from Grant IMO and Smith and Baird done a lot of grafting. Again thought more intelligent play from forwards (including midfielders breaking into the box) could could have seen a couple of Smiths crosses create a goal. Much improved from last season.
  17. Assuming the guy I mentioned who watched us on Saturday and last Tuesday is knocking around it's fair to say we have other irons in the fire.
  18. Na can't really recall his name properly - it was foreign and we were rather drunk. He was with Arsenal Reserves and been on loan to Championship / Premiership teams getting 18 first team starts....no idea how long ago that was though...aged 23 I think....6ft striker. With no idea how to spell his name found it difficult to find anything more concrete I'm afraid. Back Post Missed seems to have some info but I don't know how much.
  19. Don't disagree - my point was more that it's positive to see we're casting the net wider than a lot of folk would have you believe. I just don't want to accept that Houstie is lazy etc. it's not a thought I like to associate with the guy we all wanted at the start due to his connection with us. The guy we spoke to and shared a taxi to the game with indicates that i can take some comfort knowing that there's still activity and effort going into signing forwards - despite Houston saying a few times in interviews that he's happy with the squad currently.
  20. To be fair, it was more my mate who was chatting to him and he was pretty drunk...so add the language barrier / accent and he may have been misinterpreted. Good to see someone from outside the central belt being tracked though!
