  1. That's maybe why it only got four stars instead of five.
  2. And the rebound, which MacDonald said he just threw his face at it in order to block it.
  3. It absolutely guzzled my battery and data allowance. I binned it a couple of years ago.
  4. Hampden undergoing renovation in the early / mid-90s as Malky Mackay and Frank McGarvey challenge for the ball in a QP v Clyde game.
  5. In Saturday's match programme: - John Greer chats to a favourite of both clubs, Mark Ferry, - An interview with Connor McBride, - John Greer chats to Rovers goalkeeper from the early 60s John Miller who enjoyed his recent visit to Stark's Park, - Match reports and photos from the Cove and Hamilton games, - A Memory Match from Hampden in December 2008, - Photos and report from the recent International Women's Day celebrations at Stark's Park. Plus all the usual features including the Manager's Notes, Mascots feature, On This Day, Quiz, Stats and Team Lines. On sale in and around the ground for only £3
  6. Me as well. I remember getting him in a packet of football cards (cardboard, not stickers) along with a dawd of pink bubblegum around 1977/78 (Ayr were definitely Premier League and Clydebank's Mike Larnach was in the packet as well). I remember the 'thrill' of seeing guys who I had football cards of playing in the flesh at Stark's Park the following season.
  7. Hamilton gave their all for the full 90 plus minutes yesterday. Bossed the first half and when it became Attack v Defence in the second half, the Defence won.
  8. If it's deemed violent conduct, the ban will spill over into league games.
  9. Been there, seen it, done it. Your night tonight, pal. Enjoy.
  10. No complaints at the outcome. You can't turn up for 45 minutes and expect to win a cup final. Accies bossed the first half and defended for their lives in the second. Hope Accies fans enjoy their night.
  11. No we didn't. Rovers fans were asked which stand they wanted tickets for when we went for them.
  12. You'd be better getting the train to Grahamston (which is served by trains from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, but not on the fast Edinburgh - Glasgow line, if that makes sense).
  13. Sir Richard Staite. Knighted for services to education (rector of Beeslack High School, Penicuik) and sport (scoring for Raith Rovers in a Scottish Cup quarter-final).
  14. Come on now, you know fine well, TV licence or not, you'll be tuned into BBC Alibaba on Sunday afternoon cheering on the Accies as a Rovers win will mean we'll have won four and a half national trophies, further enhancing our status as Fife's most successful football club.
  15. Saturday 7th May 1988. Kilmarnock secure their First Division survival at the expense of East Fife and Dumbarton with a 1-0 win on the final day.
  16. If you watch the footage from the two Aberdeen v Rangers Scottish Cup Finals from the early 80s you can see the big difference in the North terrace over the 12 month period.
  17. There's usually a decent amount of parking at the college, which is on the right as you head from the ground towards the town centre. I'd imagine the stadium car park will be open, but I heard it's something like £4 a pop.
  18. I was standing almost in line with Brewster as he shaped up to take it and have never been more convinced that a free kick was ending up in the net.
  19. I'm pretty sure it was demolished around 1982. I'm not 100% certain, but I think the last time it had punters in it was the Scotland v England game that year.
  20. How the hell did you manage that? You could watch the game from the queue for the pie huts back then. As for the bogs at the Links End, that was a case of in and out as quick as humanly possible. They blew the bookies' toilets at the start of the original Trainspotting out the water.
  21. I think we won 6-0 at Cliftonhill in a midweek game during the Bobby Wilson era. Keith Wright and Paul Smith bagged a hat-trick each.
