we should definitely have them for the Rovers game!!!
You'll probably not be allowed to play in your new strips at Starks Park.

Also pleasing that V ton has opted for that charmingly smug pic of Davie Irons, I've always despised that arsehole too.
The same Davie Irons who was emptied by Morton after a 3-0 skelping from the mighty in 2009?

No, like when we actually won a major trophy as well as ten league titles, making us one of the most successful clubs in the history of the Scottish game. We'll look out the cigars for now then and you can come back when your rabble have done likewise.
This could take a while.
You're absolutely right. We're just so unfortunate we've never been afforded the opportunity to win the 4th tier of Scottish football to add to our honours.

He has got a point though...
You criticise those Rovers fans who want Smith out, but you agree with a Morton fan who says Smith is a charlatan and out of his depth?
There's Martin crying.
He maybe needs his nappy changed.

Methilians are a very oppressed race.

How would that have helped if we are paying less for full time than some are for part time ?
I wasn't aware that we were offering less money than part time clubs. My understanding was that what we are offering is less than a player with a day job and part time football wage can realistically expect to earn.

Not sure why Kane had any need to make a challenge like that, particularly in that area of the pitch.
However, a yellow card was all it merited. I can see why it might have looked worse in real time, but it'll be interesting to see / hear whether the referee gave himself time to clear his head and think about what really happened, or whether it was one of these situations where the red card was out his pocket before the Forfar player hit the deck.

If we manage to get a couple of guys back fit, it might be an idea to play one of the league cup games without Davidson as I'd imagine he'll be suspended for the start of the league season after his red card at Alloa in the playoffs.

I heard they sold more shirts last night than they did at the previous shirt launch at Society. Having seen the rush to get one last night and then the rush to put it straight on shows how popular it's going to be.
When you consider the disappointment from last season that was carried in from the previous one and has now been carried forward into this season, seeing Raith fans look happy and excited was a nice change. Maybe it's brightened us all up a bit.Does young Martin like his new yellow top?

I'm all for engaging fans but surely hiring out a room at a hotel is costly to try and convince people to volunteer?
As said above, I wouldn't imagine we're paying over the odds for the hire of the Strathearn.
Any licenced establishment in Kirkcaldy is going to welcome a few dozen thirsty punters on a midweek night, especially when season ticket holders can get 15% off the price of any scran they buy.

I'm not sure why some think that Mchattie is a solution for left midfield.
Just because a defender can't defend doesn't mean he should be shoe horned into the side some how.
Spot on.
It's like saying Gary Locke wasn't good enough to manage in the Premier, but he'll be great in the championship.
However, much as I'd rather we didn't resign Mchattie, some of the comments are a wee bit OTT - he's nothing like as bad a player as many from the Anelka era.

Drew 2-2 with us in a closed doors friendly tonight, not sure on scorers etc
Mark Stewart must have scored at least one of your goals (with his longer leg, obviously).

Maybe Claims Direct will pay for an advertising board. Or better still, sponsor the stadium.

Mchattie is a left back, and not a good one.
Absolutely. But apparently scored the winner against a fairly strong Dundee United team today from left midfield.

To be fair, we'd just won the league cup, were playing to huge gates in the 1st Division, never mind the Premier League.
The cup money along with grants and the Bayern Munich TV money supposedly paid for most of the ground improvements and in the summer of 1996 we'd just sold Crawford, Dair and Sinky to Millwall for a reputed £1.2m. Unfortunately Millwall hit the skids financially and we ended up getting Dair back along with Paul Hartley to offset some of the fee. Unfortunately by that point we'd already lashed out on Harvey, Bonar, Browne, Twaddle etc.

Was it also the time the Scum News reporter went to Starks to get the story of the Jannie sacking and was escorted out the door by Penman. I heard the guy merely slipped than being launched out the door.I think that was the Munro sacking (later the same season).
As said above, we were in freefall towards the end of Nicholl's tenure (I remember a hiding at Ibrox where we barely attempted to cross the halfway line) and Jimmy Thomson provided a quick fix to ensure we survived comfortably that season.
There's no defending some of the signings he made the following close season, but it was no worse than the scatter gun recruitment policy of Iain Munro - Colin Scott (allegedly on £900 basic back then), David Lorimer, Derek McGill, Andy Millen etc mixed in with a few short term unaffordable Scandinavians.
It was Jimmy Nicholl (2nd spell) who brought in Keith Wright and Iain Cameron (as part of the Rougier deal) and blew £150 grand on Craig McEwan (who was Alex Smith's blue eyed boy at Clyde).

He'll fit in fine here then as we shat the bed big time at the end of last season.

Never seen a keeper get down slower than when Hart let JT's sclaff in during the 2-1 home win v Ayr!
I'm going to pretend it's a wind up. He was honking against us, and to try and sign him would be ridiculous.
Have you got a link to any highlights from today?Only Partick's goal it would appear.
No sign yet of Nisbet's De Mariaesque strike from 25 yards and less sign of Buchanan 's Mbappe like finish.

Is this a wind up or is this for real?
If you watch how slow the goalkeeper was at getting across for Partick's goal, you'll see it's definitely for real.

Bizarre.
If you were a right wing extremist group looking to make a statement/cause bother then why the f**k would you choose to target a pre-season friendly between Berwick Rangers and Raith Rovers.Especially on an afternoon when England are possibly playing in a world cup quarter final.

The Berwick Rangers friendly has been cancelled on police advice.
That's a fuckin sick joke. I'm stopping off in Newcastle on my way home from holiday and have booked train tickets for Berwick on the Saturday. Does that mean if Colombia pump England the polis will allow the game to be on again?

Signed, but only on a one year deal. Shit.
After the Scott McBride signing a few seasons back, a one year deal is sensible.

It'll be on Ebay this week.
Minimum bid at least £25 given it was the first game on the astro, first clean sheet of the season, first dodgy penalty we've had in about 5 seasons and it doubles up as a diddy cup game.
