  1. Can't say I'd be overly fussed if Lithgow left. Done well for us over the years but there's better out there.

I really dont think he's good enough for full time football. McGinn on the other hand is, so absolutely delighted we got him, what a coup!

Fair play to him for refusing the deal with St Mirren, seems like a very level headed lad. I'm just gutted we didn't get him on a 2 year deal and could of made some cash out of it.

  2. Really dont see Lithgow as being that hard to replace. Would prefer if he signed but if he doesn't i'm pretty confident Murray could find an adequate replacement. I certainly don't think he'll get a better offer elsewhere.

One thing I certainly wouldn't consider him is 'quick'.

Turner on the other hand was irreplaceable.

  3. I can't believe Sons fans are turning up their noses at Martin Hardie. Have a look at his record at first division level - he's a tremendous asset for any team at that level.

I'd imagine he'd be looking for a decent wage and considering we only need cover for that area of the pitch I don't think it would be worth it. We're not exactly in a position to be paying high wages for players we don't really need.

Plus I highly doubt we'll be signing him, I think it was just a suggestion. Been no rumours or any indication of us looking to bring him in.

  4. I think Moonster hit the nail on the head when he said we conceded a lot of goals due to our style of play. A lot of focus on attack and not as much focus on the defensive side of things due to needing wins. If we were getting beat Murray wasn't afraid to replace defenders with attackers and you always risk losing goals when you use that tactic. It was refreshing to see actually, with a lot of our previous managers I've been left scratching my head at some of their decisions regarding substitutions when we're behind.

I'd like to think Murray will get himself fit for the start of next season, I reckon he can be effective at this level. If Lithgow doesn't sign up I wont lose any sleep over it, he can be replaced and Murray could be a more than adequate replacement. I also wouldn't be against us signing a new keeper.

  5. Our squad needs a good balance. We can't depend on a squad full of players from the 2nd and 3rd division, it's always good to have a bit of experience in there, whether it's age wise or level wise (not saying we should sign Hardie or Shrek, just mean in general). Even off the park you need some experience, especially with such a young management team.

I'm all for signing players from the 2nd and 3rd division if Murray deems them good enough but I wouldn't be against signing someone due to their age as long as they fit into our squad somewhere. For me Hardie doesn't and he'd be wanting too much for a backup player.

Anyway, heard we've been looking at Armand One as a Lister replacement. I imagine he'll mostly be used as backup, can't say I'm a fan.

  6. Martin Hardie to sons? he's being quite cagey on BBC radio Scotland about who he's signing for but he'd be great for us

    Could be a shout.

How did he do last season? Must be a fair age now, would be good to have some experience around but not for a silly wage.

  7. Must admit I wasn't overly impressed with Devlin when he came back on loan. Looked a immobile and seemed to have lost something from his game.

Reckon Murray could get someone better.

    Geggan?

May as well fling about some unfounded rumours.

On last nights showing Geggan should be used in midfield and not at right back.

A Pars supporting colleague has been saying the same all season.

  8. Our starting XI would be very strong if we sign: One of the keepers, a right back (Devlin? I believe he is being released)

Must admit I wasn't overly impressed with Devlin when he came back on loan. Looked a immobile and seemed to have lost something from his game.

Reckon Murray could get someone better.

  9. Absolutely delighted with the Turner news.

Our most important player by a mile. Massive well done to everyone involved in getting him on a two year deal.

The board used to get all sorts of pelters from us but they should be commended for what they have done the last couple of seasons. Prawn sandwich loyal.

  10. He did state he'd just passed his personal trainer course so I'd imagine a full time PT wage combined with what we'll be paying would be more than Morton could offer.

Could be a sensible move for him, especially considering he has a young family.

He's irreplacable imo so fingers crossed.

  11. Prunty seems like a good guy to have around the dressing room, pleased he's signed.

I imagine he'll be used mostly as back up but can certainly be relied upon to start when required, knows where the pokey is etc.

Another overhead kick would be lovely.

  12. Agnew has been good this season but nothing spectacular. I'd say first division is level at the very most.

Looks to me like it's the agent trying to drum up some full time interest. I'd be very surprised if he ended up anywhere near a club like Tranmere.

  13. Lamont > Ronald

    Agree with this.

Cant put as good a cross in and is even more light weight.

He'll be on a lot less than Lamont i'd imagine and will only be used when we desperately need him, much like Horne. Allows Murray more dosh to sign Craig Gordon and Ulises de la Cruz.

  14. C'mon Snudge he cannot be defended!!, remember McCabe didn't want to waste the money he had on Dobbie permanently and signed The beast.

    Hopeless

Anyway all good boys that have resigned so far

Gemmell Played for us before Dobbie.

I also don't think signing Dobbie permanently was ever an option.
