  1. I see Chapman is keen to keep on his role with us despite taking over at Annan (Lennox Herald).

He seems to have done a good job with the youth set up but do we really need a full time head of youth development? Our players are part time so what does he actually do most of the time?

I'd imagine he's on a very healthy wage considering he gave up a good job to take on our full time offer. I could completely understand having a full time member of staff if we had some full time players/youth players similar to Cowden but..... we dont

  2. I really feel what we're paying Lamont could be much better utilised on another player, waste of a wage so to speak. He's barely beat a man all season and the game against Hamilton was the worst individual performance I've seen in a long time.

Last season he was excellent at times but again spent a lot of it injured. I think for the time being 2nd division may be his level and he could certainly be doing with building his upper body strength and not being so unlucky with injuries. That being said he can whip in a great cross with both feet and certainly has the skill and pace to beat a man when he puts his mind to it.

I just don't think we're in a position at the moment to be hanging on to players who wont join in the fight and I feel Lamont falls into that category. In recent weeks Agnew, Gilhaney and McDougall have shocked me with the fight they've shown so maybe Lamont, if given a chance, could show the same. Unfortunately I have my doubts.

McDougall was sporting some heavy strapping on his leg last night so he may be given his chance as a trialist on Saturday.

  3. Sounds like he doesn't rate nicol and and has farmed him out to make room for new recruits. Although they haven't appeared yet.

He did say that if he can get into the team he'd be playing at CB or CM. Pretty decent recruit right there if he can get himself match fit.

  4. Hopefully Murray will try and offload Walker as well to free up a wage. Why he was kept on for this season I'll never know, He's a bottom end 2nd division player at best.

Fans favourite and puts in plenty of effort but he's never going to be good enough for the first division, I actually thought he looked out of his depth against the better sides last year.

Will be interesting to see where Lyden and Nicol end up. I'd imagine Lyden will be off to the 3rd.

  5. I'd imagine one of our left backs will be leaving even if only on loan. After yesterdays performance from Forsyth I'd be inclined to make it Creaney. Forsyth can also slot in at CB if we're struggling.

Losing Devlin is a blow and that will need to be addressed asap. He's not been spectacular but solid enough. I'd hate to see us move Andy Graham from CB, i'm starting to like him more everytime I see him. Was outstanding yesterday.

Lamont I wouldn't be signing. Not done enough to convince me this season he deserves a deal. I am a fan of him but he's struggled badly this season.

I see the boy Smith has been on loan to East Fife as well, anyone know much about him?

  6. Dumbarton are a Second Division club having a one year stint in the First Division. Not many fans expected promotion last year so when they did, I'm sure they knew this type of season was going to occur. They are a small club who don't have a huge fan base, making it difficult to spend money on players to improve their squad because the income they are receiving just isn't enough. They'll be a club who will yo-yo between the First and Second for the foreseeable future, but for now, they have to dig in deep and endure a long second half of the season.

With the whole Rangers saga it has left us with three fully part time sides in the first division. Theres absolutely no reason why we shouldnt be competing with them, especially Airdrie. If Dundee had still been here I'd be inclined to accept relegation before a ball was kicked but certainly not now. This is probably our best chance ever of making a go of staying up.

I dont buy all the 'poor us' & 'part time team in a full time league' patter. We should be doing far better and hopefully Murray and his scientist can kick start things a bit. It certainly cant get any worse!

  7. You think passing Maths and Information Systems i would be able to get at least a D in English  Ah well i should of went to school but sleeping all day sounded a hell of alot better. Maybe you have as it seems Dumbarton's score always ends in a 0 and always has done.

    nah it doesnt

  8. Kevin Harper was born in England but raised in Edinburgh.

Black Scottish-born footballers include Chris Mackie (ex Alloa), Malcolm Kpedekpo (ex Aberdeen), Chris Ogboke (ex Montrose). Callum McRobbie of Aberdeen's U19s could be mixed race?

Cowdenbeath's Joe Mbu has played for Junior Scotland but he was born in London as far as I know. Gordon Lennon of Dumbarton was born in Northern Ireland but I've no idea how long he's been over here - he joined Albion Rovers from Govan juvenile side Harmony Row.

There are a few other black players in the non-leagues such as Dan Gerrard and Max Asante but I don't know if they were born in Scotland either. I think Arniston's Ubong Umatong came up from England and I've no idea where Albion Rovers signed Abou Mansare from - he's now at St Anthony's. East Craigie have a black forward called Josh Perera.

    what about brian mcphee?

  9. not that it gets on my nerves but it's just rather strange.....

some random guy i have never seen in my life just sent me a bebo message saying...

    'subject: rovers

aaaalbioneeeeeee albioneeeeeeeeeee oh way oh way oh way.............. albioneeeeeeeeee albioneeeeeeeeeee'

we're playing them tomorrow, but why would a random guy send me a message saying that?

    freak

  10. Watched a few live songs on YouTube and he does seem a bit...erm, mental?

he wrote the album 'is a real boy' as therapy to help him get over his mentalness.

i seen them at tuts once and it was pretty much empty, he also ran away when i said hi to him outside. weirdo.
