  1. Not just Pollok that wants Rutherglen in their league for travel reasons. Same goes for the Greater Glasgow teams in the league below.
  2. How does it work with Cambuslang Rangers today saying eff it v Darvel. Take it, Cambuslang Rangers must be out next year's West of Scotland cup. Or mibbee no.
  3. There are no non-pyramid Junior leagues. So is the Midland League a Junior League or not?
  4. Kinda miss the top kiddie in the Juniors telling us about 100 Grand lavvies and the LL being a load a s***e. And his pal Scott the fixture guy dripping us 6 games at a time in November. Going further back the famous multi replays from District League Cup ties played at a neutral venue. Remember going along one night after the entire UK and Western Europe had played out the season (Wembley and the European Cup final) to watch a Junior game at a neutral ground with 11 punters there and no catering. Beautiful warm May night. Thunderstorm in the second half and the referee abandoned the game. The good old days.
  5. Think you've got that back to front. Some elements within the West Region including some blazers still have a Junior mentality. Just like the pyramid it will take a few seasons to bed in. Probably after the top sides have moved upwards Imagine trying some of these tricks in the leagues above.
  6. Ex Junior teams ha.ve moved across into the pyramid.
  7. There are however Junior leagues within the pyramid. Niope
  8. Like Spion Kop lol Btw, ffs update that wikipedia page.
  9. There are no non-pyramid Junior leagues. Correct
  10. Part of me thinks the UI idea or ballot/poll idea is overhyped by certain folks to keep others onboard. Think most folk could live with N.I. remaining Brìtish but run along the lines of Belfast City Council. Throw in it being more Irish Ireland N.I. ie things like a Irish Language Act and a liberal society to placate the 21st Century version of the growing middle class. Loyal Order parades and bonfires, no problem because "themmuns" aren't actually in control of the place pre 1972 Stormont style. From recent visits post pandemic i knew the place had changed when i saw the cops on push bikes. Not exactly the Gaza Strip, is it!!!
  11. The Glasgow Evening Times did an article a couple of days after the local council elections here showing local councillors being elected on 4 and 5 % of the total eligible vote. I'd guess it wouldn't be that much different in parts of Greater Belfast depending on the election or referendum. 101 reasons why people don't vote. I'd guess most non voters in N.I. are happy enough be it King Billy or King Kong running the place. Chaining up the swings, closing the pubs on a Sunday, complete shutdown of dance halls by midnight on Saturday would seem bizarre now. Yet that's what local councils got up to in my childhood in Scotland and N.I. Admit that recent cash for ash scheme in N.I. seemed pretty tasty.
  12. So from we can surmise Ellon Utd are not playing in any non pyramid Junior League
  13. I've been at a Ellon Utd home game. What tier in the pyramid are they?
  14. Btw, welcome. Hope to see you guys playing in the Wosfl some day
  15. The Junior Cup Final at Rugby Park had that much interest in recent years the SJFA gave every Junior club in the country complimentary tickets. Even at that and with Talbot in the Final they were struggling to get 5000 in.
  16. Still waiting on Darvel/St Cuthbert's/Tranent playoffs. That finishes 28th May.
  17. Don't mind if i give you a riddie for old times sake.
  18. They kept the Junior Cup going for old times sake. Not all ex Juniors took part. I'd expect the Junior Cup to be replaced by a national non league cup competition in future years.
  19. Firstly there aren't any Juniors. I'd suggest you look at some of the leagues. More than two clubs have two teams in different leagues.
