Seems we might’ve signed a decent keeper going by the 8 pages of not botheredness on St Mirren’s thread.

What’s going on at our club? We seem to be making sensible decisions and also getting our act together off the field as well. Not used to this kerry on.

And here I thought we'd make it through the transfer window without a bloody 'nick a player United' nothingburger rumour
Mohammed looks a decent prospect, wonder if he'll get a shot in our U20's Challenge Cup game vs Buckie on Wednesday.
Where’s that getting played, might go along.

Beck looks good but will be booked (and possibly sent off) a lot this season. He needs to get his mouthiness under control, can’t be getting booked for dissent 35 minutes in.
Little wonder he was mouthing off. He got fouled a couple of times in the same run with the ball.

Is the Derry open today?

You lot had 1 job to do, useless c***s.

Not too worried about today because it once again highlighted the obvious, the need for more strikers. I’d offload 1 of the current crop and bring in 3.
Get that area of the pitch sorted and we win that game today easy. Infact swap Rudden for Jakubiak and we’d have won.
Think our keeper’s had 2 saves to make today including the penalty and had very little else today.
Get Lyall further forward so he can make his late runs into the box. He’s a brilliant striker of the ball, can’t understand why he doesn’t ping them in the top left as he’s looking at the goal.
Hopefully we get 9 points and get through. Struggle to see that being enough for a seeding spot though.

I said earlier in the thread that I wasn't happy about re-signing most of our defence from the last time we were in this league.
We didn't re-sign Sweeney which I was happy about (the DABS should have come in for him) but we are still stuck for the most part with guys that we know have weaknesses so you can imagine that every club we play against also knows.
Just hope the #dosamigos are shit hot.
There’s a good chance none of our back 4 have played for us in the Premier League once everyone is fit and up to speed.
A back 4 of French, Portales, Shaughnessey and Beck.

A fit French plays ahead of Kerr. So does Mulligan for me.
And McGhee. Scary how often Cammy gave the ball away again during the week.

Initially, I really wanted Rudden to succeed but he doesn't seem to have kicked on.
Plus, he's young but looks really old.
I don't trust him.
Still hope he does succeed but the evidence hasn’t been there so far. Would swap him and Jakubiak in a heart beat. Jakubiak would’ve had a couple of goals the other night.

I’m firmly in the Rudden out camp. Needs 4 good chances to score 1 and is as half hearted in any challenge as they come. He can go and put in that bit more effort somewhere else.

That’s a very comfortable evening’s work. Could’ve and should’ve been 4 or 5.
Becks looks a player.

Any updates on Malachi Boateng situation
Looked like a done deal on Friday but it’s gone very quiet
I heard last week that the clubs had only really made an initial contact. Was over egged that the deal was done.

Moult is absolutely done. 3 goals since January 2019.
Main is an absolute dumpling.I’d take Main. Don’t get the abuse he gets. Had a mare at Aberdeen but done really well for Motherwell and St Mirren.

They’ve regressed badly since then.
Barely stayed in the Championship last season.
Comfortable 2-0 Saints home win.
Would disagree with this. They’re not the easiest to play against and breakdown. I thought last season they should’ve finished higher in the league than they did with their standard of play.

When it come to pre season is it better to go against tougher opposition to get a feel for where the players are such as Fleetwood or a confidence building lower tier games ?
A bit of everything tbh. A couple of games against teams you should be comfortably defeating for the strikers to get goals and a bit of confidence, the defence let in few goals. Then a difficult game where you’re not expected to win to gauge exactly where you’re and what’s still needed.
