  1. How long has it been the rule that a blood injury requires a check before the player can come back on? Must be about fifteen year. Still hasn't filtered through to large parts of the away support.
  2. It's a yellow card. It's very clearly a foul, and as others have touched on, it's the kind of cynical foul that you could definitely argue should be a red card, but in the same way that a shirt pull could be. He's got no intention playing the ball, he's just trying to stop a counter attack. It looks worse than it is because McCann, wisely, sees it coming and is trying to hurdle Murray, so he ends up in the air. But it's not straight legged, it's not studs up and his foot isn't high. Barring the obvious freak occurrences that can happen whenever someone slides in, there's no outsized prospect of a serious injury occurring. If I was in the stand, and that was a Rovers player, I'd be going tonto, obviously, and no doubt screaming for a red card. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a yellow card offence.
  3. Football fans under normal circumstances: "The game's gone soft! It's a contact sport! You can't even tackle anymore!" Football fans when their favourite player is fouled: "This is a war crime!"
  4. "...and then the Highland Loch sank off the Canary Islands." "I thought the Highland Lock was our guaranteed inability to beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle."
  5. That kit is going to depend entirely on how it looks in the flesh. I quite like it from the photos, but it's definitely treading a fine line where it could easily be a stinker.
  6. I hear it's just a standard Joma template, but it's got an orange armband on each sleeve.
  7. A shipwreck themed away jersey is the best, and most mental, thing I've heard in a long time.
  8. In what's not exactly a rave review of his abilities as a striker, Jamie Gullan has been shunted wide left. Smith up front with Vaughan.
  9. Playing the hits again. Loads of the ball, doing everything right for the most part, but lacking a focal point and without the naturally attacking full-backs to really overload the opposition. It's been one way traffic, and you'd have to suspect we will eventually find a breakthrough, but we could do with a big unit to hang around the penalty box. Any Faroese chaps around?
  10. Both sets of outfielders, the home keeper and the match officials all in varying shades of blue this evening at Stark's Park. I've seen less confusing colour match ups, put it that way.
  11. Really pleased with that. A big solid centre half who's a good age, who has run this course before. In terms of known quantities, I think he's pretty much the best fit we could get in terms of the gaps in the squad.
  12. Said the same towards the end of the game. The fourth or fifth time he's in exactly the right place at the right time, you know it's not a coincidence.
  13. Because I think a nine year old would recognise that professional football players will go where the money is, because it's their livelihood. We can absolutely have a Raith Rovers where the squad is made up of players who only want to play for the club, but I've gotta warn you, it's me and you playing centre half together.
  14. Craig Cairns retweeting it would certainly suggest it's one of us.
  15. The announcement retweeted by Craig Cairns, too. I liked Murray more than most, and while I think he suffered a bit first time around with being shunted into both fullback positions on occasion, it is nice to have someone else who's played there before when we inevitably have 15 players missing again.
  16. Wait, we're apologising for long rambling posts now? I'm in real bother.
