I didn't see the initial coming together, the impression I got was that Williamson and the defender just came together as they were running. They then went head-to-head, I don't know who instigated that, but the referee then booked them both. I can't remember what Williamson's first booking was for, it's not mentioned in the live updates.

Nah, they won't bother. I can't say I'm particularly arsed about it, but it's another one of these inconsistent things that refs like to pick and choose with. A few seasons back East Fife's keeper was given a straight red for a "GIRUY" gesture to us, but David Carson did the same going down the tunnel today about six feet in front of the referee who didn't even blink.

We were abysmal up until the second goal going in, but we've actually played a wee bit of football since then. There were shades of our first half of the season patterns of play towards half-time, which I've not seen in a long time. This game is still on a total knife-edge, though. I'm not convinced that offside goal was actually offside, and there'll be more chances for Caley Thistle in the second half. Our defence just isn't the same without Berra, and while I really like Robbie Thomson and I think technically sound, he has a vibe or an aura about him that defenders just don't like. We actually look like we might be able to exploit gaps in the opposition and create chances, though, which hasn't often been the case lately. I think this game is going to finish 4-2, but I wouldn't like to say who to.

Barring a totally untested new manager who turns out to be a star, we won't get a better football manager than John McGlynn, it's as simple as that. Non-footballing reasons are obviously a different kettle of fish, but there's no sense looking around Airdrie and Peterhead for someone who's going to put more points on the board, for f**k sake.
