  1. It was an archetypal "already on the beach" performance from Hamilton. Not actively terrible but nobody really bothered to go out and make anything happen. As a result, the Rovers really held them at arm's length for the most part, other than a flurry of corners in the first half. Not exactly a controversial statement given he scored twice, but that was Ben Williamson's best performance in a Rovers jersey, playing almost as a second striker. Before he goes out on loan again next season, I think Rangers really need to decide what his best position is and then send him to a manager who wants to play him there. He's definitely got ability but he doesn't have much of an identity, he's been used to plug gaps all over the place (largely by necessity) and I couldn't tell you where he plays best. It's a shame the game didn't mean a little more, we could've had three times as many Rovers fans there if we'd gone into it level on points with Thistle, but ultimately it's not to be. C'est la vie.
  2. I was really chuffed to see that Fatty of "Fatty's daein' a pish, daein' a pish!" fame from the first game reappeared again today, in the same tracksuit. Excellent consistency.
  3. The big lads next to the away end are very easily wound up, are they no? Headloss all over the shop in both games here this season.
  4. We didn't particularly control much of that, but still scored, hit the underside of the bar and had one ruled out for an offside. Accies have forced a pile of corners but don't look too threatening through the middle. There's only so many times the ball can be whipped across the box before one is eventually turned in though, so ideally I'd like to see us add another five or six before we concede our customary late flurry.
  5. Roles have reversed. We've not been over the halfway line in ten minutes. Feels like a matter of time before the equaliser.
  6. Still trying to force Dave McKay to play football, I see.
  7. Still no left back, which is far from ideal, but I suppose they kept a clean sheet last week with this set up.
  8. Really difficult to pick Arbroath's best player. Fraser Murray or Blair Alston?
  9. I think this is what Arbroath would've set out to do, but before they could put it into action Killie dived in with two feet. Kilmarnock are somehow managing to self-shithouse.
  10. There are some absolutely honking midfielders in this Killie squad. Must be about seven of them who are just totally gutless. Fine for when you're already 2-0 up against some jobbers like Raith or Dunfermline but absolutely no stomach for a fight like this.
  11. I was under the impression that MacDonald's agreement with Hamilton essentially boiled down to "skip training whenever you need to".
  12. "You want a team that plays out from the back but never knocks it across the backline and a team that goes direct but never sends it long to nobody?" "And Kieron Bowie should be in it!"
  13. Is that the first time we've won points with a late goal this season? I can think of three times we've lost them with the very last kick of the game (home v Hamilton and Caley Thistle, and last time away at Firhill).
  14. Did the Rovers try to press in the most recent game? Admittedly I watched most of it through my fingers, but what I remember is Poplatnik wandering about in the vague direction of Efe Ambrose, 40 yards from the next nearest Rovers player, and not much else.
  15. Given the Falkirk board and management were just as keen on Goodwillie only to be turned down by the player, I trust you won't be celebrating next time they actually win a game?
