The problem is more that 14 year old promising players ( or more likely their dads. ) sign for these teams with a dream but little hope of breaking into the big team/big money. If more of them decided it was better to work up through the leagues to make their fortune the problem would not exist. A few years ago if I was the father of a young talent I would have tried to get him to Falkirk. Not so much recently

He is the captain of the Development side and has just been given a contract extension . He is over 18 and we have played players a lot younger than that. Surely if we have enough faith in him to give him an extension we should be seeing if he can fill a gap in our team. If you don't try him we won't know. Are you available to play right mid for the rest of the season ?

Surely The budget was set without factoring in the sale of Vaulks. If that is the case then I think the board are being a bit tight. Their spending plans for the year would already be covered if they were running a tight ship as they appear to be. PH said that he had a slight overspend on the playing budget before Will was sold . The board must have accepted that but now want to " bank " the money. I am usually in favour of most of the boards dealings recently and very much in favour of bringing through rather than bringing in but we have lost 2 young but experienced players and left us with Kerr and Rankin who have lots of experience but are getting over the hill.
