  1. I’ve not seen any videos of the game. Are they online?
  2. Decided to take this game in. Cupar the better team first half but not much in it. Doune missed a chance early on before Cupar came into it and had a few chances but was 0-0 at HT. Second half Cupar started brighter and scored a controversial goal. I’d say 9 times out 10 at least the foul is given on the keeper with the opposition player challenging for a high ball. After that it was one way traffic with the Cupar no.9 scoring a great hat trick. Overall I’d say Cupar looked a better, fitter team but I would never have thought it would be 5-0 at HT.
  3. They ran with split first divisions a few years ago. How many teams get promoted would be my question? The teams joining will not want to spend more than a season in the first division. They had a 3 up 3 down recently(was either last season or the one before) but I think that’s changed now. Could they bring that back to try and give the “bigger teams” a quicker route?
  4. Played with Sean at amateur level so always watch the highlights of the games. Really happy to see him performing at a much higher level. Was always far too good for amateur but you never know how players will cope stepping up and playing against better players week in week out.
  5. Season starts this weekend. Who is everyone’s tip for the leagues? Not seen much about signings on twitter so an uneducated guess would be doune, EK and dunbarton to be fighting at the top. Dunbarton had a poor season by there recent standards last year and EK dropped too many points against teams they’d be fancied to beat. Doune were just relentless in the run in so be interesting to see if that can carry that on. 1st division looks to be a cracker with a few good teams joining. Got to fancy Drum to win that but I’ve heard Dunipace have signed a few so possibly between those two? Think it was a good season for Milton to get promoted cause I think whoever was in the league last year will struggle to get out of the league now.
  6. 2 of the last 3 games for doune were forfeited by the opposition. Would’ve expected doune to win both but not a good look for the league and you wouldn’t be too happy if you were EKYM.
  7. Fancy doune to get over the line. On a great run and they don’t need to play EK again who have beaten them 3 times this season with doune winning 1. Milton promoted and possibly dunblane in a play off I don’t think the premier will be any stronger next season however the first division should be a cracker with some good teams joining who will add quality to the prem the following season.
  8. Steins will be favourites being in the semis of the Scottish but Alva top of their league and a good side. Should be a cracker. Took in the doune game on friday and to be honest apart from a chance in each half doune were in total control and should’ve scored more. Final should be a good game whoever wins on Friday.
  9. Think it’s a good move for the central and SAFL to merge as I think the latter was on its way to folding altogether and the central losing 3 premiership teams this season alone it really is a no brainer to merge. The Cali have also lost teams but they’ve added 4 already for next season and 3 of those you’d think will be pushing hard to get straight into prem. Seen people say on here more could move either way however between Cali/central so be an interesting few months.
  10. Forth & Endrick is a summer league. A lot of players play for Stirling teams already or even some junior teams. Vast majority play the summer then get released for their other teams season starting even if the summer league isn’t finished. Can’t see those teams being an option.
  11. Does anyone know when the vote by clubs will be held to determine if this will go any further?
  12. I see Giffnock North are asking anyone against it to come to a meeting at there club house next week. One club clearly not happy about the proposal.
  13. I do like the idea of reconstruction but I think the fairest way would be to have a conference system for a season if possible and then move to a premier, championship, 1st,2nd etc etc. obviously the top 2 or 3 from each conference would be in prem and say 4-6th championship and so on. A lot of teams in the central probably might not be for this though as they have been very dominant in the majors recently and might not fancy missing out on the top league for a few seasons. Teams in other leagues would probably feel the same but I’m using the central as an example as it’s widely regarded as the top amateur league going (although I don’t think they have the depth they had before). I think this will be one of the reasons this sadly will not happen as others have already said there’s too much self interest instead of looking at the bigger picture.
  14. Agree there needs to be a reform. But sadly I don’t think it will ever happen or if it does it’ll be too late. Hearing a few teams with good set ups but not necessarily “top” teams thinking of joining the WOSL. Has there been any Edinburgh teams make the move?
  15. Couldn’t see a central league chat on here so thought I’d just post on the league one. Hearing fallin have folded. Wondering if anyone can confirm or not?
  16. Big loss to the amateur game in my opinion. Community club been on the go for a number of years who were starting to find there feet in the prem.
  17. Good luck to thorn on there new venture. Can’t blame teams for wanting to progress further. Be interesting to see how they fair next year at amateur. If Glasgow uni and Finnart are anything to go by it could be a struggle. Not heard that about stenny but if it’s true then that’s a big blow to the league in my opinion. Stenny have never had problems getting players that I can remember and that’s going back over 10 years in the Stirling league as well. Only need to see teams folding or struggling on twitter this summer though to see how hard it is.
  18. Glasgow uni moved to the WOSL and kept an amateur team so if they can still field one I can’t see it being an issue. Will be a blow though as thorn have been challenging for the league for a few years now and winning it on one of those.
  19. Haven’t played there in a few years but it’s not a ground. It’s an open grass park with a small hill up one side which is a good seat in the summer. Was a very good surface though. Not sure what the requirements would be. I know Glasgow uni moved but they play at Airdie stadium.
  20. Think the prem is between Dunbarton, Thorn and Glasgow Harp although they have quite a few games to catch up on. Glasgow uni look to be down and Daizel and Milngave possibly as well with so few games left. Doune look to have the first wrapped up with St Joes and Cambusbarron sitting in 2nd and 3rd but Milton can go up if they win there games in hand. Still a bit to play for.
  21. Played Glasgow uni a few times on this park when they were in the amateurs and they were allowed fans in. The reasons the players gave for moving from garscube was they wanted to join the lowland league. That was before the WOSL started. Plenty room at garscube to upgrade I would say. I believe Stirling uni play at forthbank and they have great facilities at the uni.
  22. St Joseph’s joined last season but the season was cancelled.
  23. New season now started. What’s everyone’s tips? Think if anyone finishes above Dunbarton then they will be champions of the prem. I do think about 5 or 6 teams will really fancy there chances though. 1st division looks really competitive again. St Joes starting well at the weekend but haven’t actually seen them play. Told they’re a good team. Cambusbarron 2 from 2. Milton won there summer league. Another few clubs as well will be going for promotion. Should be a cracking league.
  24. Have Finnart left the league altogether? Saw on twitter they were joining the WOSL but not sure if a team will remain in the cale league?
  25. All the teams in the central region were stopped from playing/training by the government. They are now allowed to train non-contact again but with players and coaches not allowed to travel into other council districts not sure how this will work for some teams. I’d be shocked if there are games played before Xmas. I think March/April is probably a more realistic guess.
