  1. Was in the ground 15mins before kick off and did not hear any booing of any player when the teams were read out
  2. Don't think Caldwell carries the can for that one I must admit. Thought it was a yellow at worst for Shea's challenge. Couldn't believe it when the straight red came out! The game was effectively over after that.
  3. Unbelievably applied for 4 Hampden games and got them all ..... all Cat 3 as well, so €200 all in
  4. Decent first half but fell away in the second. Defence still looks very shaky. Still, beat Clyde and we're through. Maybe we could work on keeping it tight for at least 60 seconds after we score?
  5. Thought we were average on Saturday and poor last night but .... suppose 6 from 6 is the main thing. The lack of creativity is my main concern. Both goals were well worked last night (particularly Robson's) but aside from this and a couple of other occasions, we basically seemed to resort to lumping long balls all match. Was actually pretty impressed with Queens - think they may well have a decent season - but as mentioned earlier reckon a couple of their players were pretty fortunate to escape dismissal later in the game. We definitely still need another 2 or 3 bodies though .....
  6. Fairly comfortable. What a difference Anderson has made though - won absolutely everything! Second half was largely frustrating until the second goal. Defence looked solid throughout and 3 points well deserved.
  7. I was at the game - outstanding we were not! We were marginally less dreadful than Falkirk in my opinion .... BUT a point to stop the rot is certainly preferable to 8 consecutive defeats. This and the Scotland game in the evening made it my chirpiest weekend for long enough (I obviously do not lead an exciting life)
  8. Having followed Thistle home and away for thirty-odd years, I couldn't agree more. We just don't do bounce back promotions!
  9. I love Hampden. Sadly not had many opportunities to see my club there, but have been watching Scotland at Hampden for over 30 years. Nights like last night, the place was rocking. Having watched Scotland at both Ibrox and Parkhead, they just can't compare (OK ROI game was decent). On these occasions necessity demanded moving the matches. The idea however of playing there on a more permanent basis and thereby financially supporting these odious institutions does not attract me at all.
  10. Would take a cup win over top flight survival all day long!
