  1. In the pub aye? I hear Kenny Dalglish can handle his drink better
  2. In what way had he "downed tools"? A tremendous win at New Saints, and he sounded pretty pissed off about the performance and result at Stirling in the video I watched, even though he knew he was off after that. That's not evidence of a man who had stopped trying or caring.
  3. I think Duffy will do OK. My reaction is similar to what it was when we appointed Stark and MacPherson. Both were relatively big names who had managed at a higher level. Both turned out to be far more successful at Queen's than I thought they would be
  4. Exactly. Of course there was never any arguments in the dressing room between players when Gus was in charge.....or Speirs....or Stark....or Brannigan...or Cowboy...or McCann...or Eddie. No older player ever shouted at the likes of Alex Ferguson, Peter Buchanan, Malky Mackay, John McGregor, Ross Caven when they were youngsters
  5. Good to see that some of our support are as fickle as ever Players who only a couple of weeks ago were getting lauded as heroes are now getting labelled "cowards" Certain posters were highly critical of MacPherson's no-nonsense style of management, now some are getting their knickers in a twist about an alleged lack of discipline in the dressing room since he left.
  6. McPhee got 4 that day ( John O'Neill got the other one ),but yes, he was amazing that day Of course Longworth scored 4 at home to Elgin but I missed that one so can't comment.... Nothing to lose by starting East, as long as our more experienced players put in a decent display and give him the support he will need
  7. No thoughts about it at all I am relishing Elgin Away on February 2nd
  8. Yet before Keena arrived you were raving about Mortimer's performance, even saying he was our best striker since Jamie Longworth - which was of course a ridiculous statement, especially for a striker who has never scored. Or have I just imagined you saying that?
  9. You not capable of doing both? You'll fit right in as plenty of other cheery fuckers like yourself will be in attendance
  10. Mind the last time Gus had to re-build a squad for a League 2 campaign? Pretty sure that it took a lot longer than the middle of June and the season worked out just fine Think I'll focus on my various World Cup sweeps and bets over the next few weeks
  11. It's the League Cup.....which you said it was about 3 hours previous to this post.... Alzheimer’s?
  12. 100% correct. This was all explained at the recent AGM....and we were also told at last year's AGM that this rule was getting introduced. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned on this forum as well. Surprised The Spider wasn't aware of this.
  13. It's probably just another shitey rumour.... but what if he and Gus have had a sit down and patched up their differences? I'd take him back, no problem at all. By the way, I wouldn't hold it against him on how he returned to us the first time i.e his reasons for signing for East Fife then coming back. These things happen and his performances were one of the major reasons we stayed up that season.
  14. I'm a fan of all the positions tbh but nae chance of getting any on a Saturday night
  15. Heard from a decent source that we won't be getting new kit next season, just using the current stuff. Hoops of course back as "home" strip. The dark blue as "away". Red will also be used if required
  16. There is no Third Division as well. Almost as stupid as folk who still refer to the Premiership as the SPL
  17. My thinking entirely before last night. Unfortunately not as simple as that
  18. Started supporting them because they are my local club. I grew up about 100 yards from the ground and was also ball boy in the early 80s . The amateur status didn't play a part in my decision at all, although I grew to love it as well as all the associated history. Turning semi-pro wouldn't be an issue at all for me if it was financially viable and the right decision for the club. If not and we end up playing at a lower level then so be it. As long as I still have a football club to follow every week
  19. It's an absolute no-brainer imo and that was aslo the opinion of the vast majority at the meeting last night, although there was no official vote. The only option is selling the ground and us not playing there. That's their deal breaker.
  20. That's what the club are wanting to happen, all part of the ongoing negotiations with the SFA . It will need plenty of work done to bring it up to league standard. We could go for the one stand like East Fife and Dumbarton or the two like Stirling Albion. Maybe one stand with a terracing behind the goal like Ochilview, that would be my choice.
