  1. The vibe I got from Dempster was that we need to get all this stuff out of storage and on display. I know we have loaned some of it to the SFA museum but maybe we should have some sort of plan to develop a space at Lesser in the future to house all our memorabilia for fans and visitors to view
  2. Yeah totally. We need a proper place for everyone to mix pre and post games. Even coming off the bus after away games. This is also how camaraderie and bonds have been forged in the past between fans, club officials and players (even just to have a chat over a beer with a committee member to find out info) Something that's not really been possible since we went pro. I got the impression that it wouldn't be ready for the start of the season as they are prioritising everything else, including the hospitality facilities upstairs. A few decent pubs near Hampden but still not the same
  3. And if we don't go up then at least we won't have to play fuckin Airdrie next season. Sunday games are pish - for various reasons - and this will be our third one this season. Hopefully none of this nonsense when we get back to Lesser. I fancy us to get something from this if we can start taking our chances. Should have buried Clyde last week but the attitude and work rate was superb so more of that please
  4. Potter doing the coach's column in today's online programme instead of Beuker. That suggests Beuker is now getting on with his actual job
  5. The communication with ALL supporters has been pretty garbage since Covid hit us so to have them invite some of us to a meeting with them is quite forward thinking by their recent standards
  6. Never played for us so that's drivel. We got relegated that season so he might have been worth a try
  7. Pretty sure the members are also supporters
  8. Here's me thinking our major beef back in the day was with Vale of Leven
  9. I understand and appreciate all this. I'm confident he'll be a great addition to the club when he's allowed to get on with his actual job and I'm also well aware of what he's been landed with. I'm just speculating on the reasons why we didn't sign a striker in the window (well, one that's available to play for us outwith the Glasgow Cup)
  10. What about the committee? They seem to be getting off lightly here. They're still officially running the club. Dempster (and the commercial team) are doing all the work the committee used to do and any suggestions / decisions that she makes are signed off by the President & his committee. I also wouldn't blame the guy who has been funding everything since January 2020 when it comes to recruitment. He has made the money available to bring in any player we want ( well, any that want to play full time in league 1) but the committee apparently decided not to go down that route this season with all the weird talk of "consolidation"......plus building the foundations for the future etc (which of course is important) That still doesn't explain of course why Beuker didn't bring in any strikers in the January window (I'm assuming he was in charge of that) Maybe he's underestimated the standard of the league and thought the loanees would stroll it or he's relied on agents for info on these players. Either way, it's pretty obvious that none of the players brought in are proper strikers.
  11. We were but teams soon got wise to how we played and Ellis had no answers. No, the slump definitely started under Ellis. He couldn't get a tune out of them for months. I didn't see any change in the way we played in any of the games he was our head coach - no plan B - even after Beuker became director of football.
  12. Alternatively, If we somehow manage to get to the Championship then we'll be a far more attractive proposition for the better full time players in Scotland who currently don't want to play in League 1 thus making us more competitive on and off the park. If we don't improve the squad at all then you're right but no way our squad will stay the same next season, no matter what division we end up in.
  13. Thistle game was live for free on You Tube. But you're right. Let fans in who want to attend, it's not rocket science
  14. 1985 - Glasgow Cup final. Back when us, Thistle and Clyde usually fielded our first teams and the Old Firm put out pretty decent sides, usually their reserves with a few first teamers. We beat Celtic 3-2 at Parkhead in the semis (if I remember correctly we were 3 nil up) to set up a final v Rangers .This was held over to September the following season but we got pumped 5-0 at Hampden. .https://www.fitbastats.com/rangers/game.php?gameid=81492 Last time we won it was season 1945/46 when we beat Clyde 2 nil in front of 40,000! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow_Cup
  15. Always nice to hear from supporters of their previous clubs on how shite our new managers are going to be.
  16. Got them now. Just a matter of persevering but was on the verge of chucking it. Tried calling them but just got the engaged tone when I chose the ticketing option
  17. You can cut the tension with a knife at the games. I think a pint and a wee cuddle in the Star and Garter is what's required
  18. Fans are still playing each other. Think the league is now called the IFL. It was featured on AVFTT the other night. Our lads played Alloa supporters yesterday before our game
  19. Our more sensitive fans would be seething about his swearing
  20. Members meeting the following night with head coach update on the agenda
  21. There's one or two who still lurk about here handing out riddies/greenies now and again so you might get lucky
  22. Sean wasn't there to video it. When that happens we usually ask the home team for permission to use their footage.
  23. An excellent all round performance and result to match a quality away day. It's been too long. Those saves just after half time from Ferrie were so important to deny Dumbarton any sort of route back into the game. Nothing spectacular, just stayed as big as possible for as long as possible. The second one in particular. You could see how much he loved that by the way he punched the air. Peter Grant as well. Fox and Kilday have been great recently but I think we're a better team with him back in it.
