  1. I’m hardly a happy clapper but some of the posts on here would have you picking up the phone to Dignitas. It’s the second of June for f**k’s sake.
  2. I’m not knocking our performance but the way the Dutch played tonight I’d back England to beat them fairly comfortably. Some people getting a bit carried away overhyping the Dutch. Their fans appear to unanimously think De Boer is doing a terrible job.
  3. McCowan and Smith both contributed far more than Walsh did despite not being at their best for the full season. Smith was a big loss and so will McCowan be. Moffat gets a bit more leeway because he’s a club legend and has performed brilliantly in the recent past. We only have Walsh’s one season to go by so it’s natural that plenty won’t be caring much that he’s away. I’d agree many have taken previous players for granted when they move on but I don’t think that justifies keeping someone who’s shown very little for us. Not forgetting he’s injury prone and likely to be one of the top earners.
  4. For all the quality he’s meant to have, in the time that he wasn’t injured he contributed very little. I know that could be said for most of the team but I think the apathetic reaction is wholly justified.
  5. It boils my piss when I hear about rules being changed to make VAR decisions less controversial. Just get VAR in the bin instead.
  6. Is Gilmour available? I was assuming not since he probably didn’t meet up with the squad until Monday or Tuesday. Saying that it’s not like he played in the final so fitness shouldn’t be a huge issue.
  7. That was while they were in Scotland and had track and trace telling them to isolate. I’m not up to date on the rules in Spain but it’s possible they don’t give as much of a hoot about a group of people living in a bubble and getting tested twice a week.
  8. Reddit doesn’t exactly strike me as the sort of place that would be that teeming with full-time mummies to the extent that those without kids would require their own wee section. Classic oddballs on the internet desperate to polarise their innocuous lifestyle choices. Also - “discussion of the childfree lifestyle”
  9. Plenty of teams play a 3-4-3 or some sort of variant. It just means that the “wingers” will cut in more instead of hugging the touch line. Or if you want to go really continental you have underlapping wingbacks. I don’t think Hoppyball stretches that far right enough.
  10. If you want a sexier name for it you can call it a back 3. Effectively the same thing, it just depends how the team approaches the game. If you sit deep and get penned back it can be awful, if you get on the ball and get the wing backs forward it can be good to watch. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
  11. A back 5 doesn’t have to mean no wingers or attacking mids. Could easily be a 5-2-3 or 5-2-1-2.
  12. I’m really enjoying all these hot takes from the experts that vaccines designed to stop hospitalisations and deaths do in fact stop hospitalisations and deaths.
  13. Nice to see a player falling over and holding onto the ball not actually being rewarded with a foul for once.
  14. Stopping the game every ten seconds. The Spanish Willie Collum.
  15. Couldn’t you argue that the away goals rule encourages shitebag behaviour at home? If the home team in the first leg gets a 1-0, or even a 0-0, it’s usually described as a good or even great result.
  16. Why are you so desperate to pin this entirely on the public when it’s clear that the blue letter method is pish for vaccinating a younger population? I’m guessing for the same reason you refer to any council area with rising rates as misbehaving in your wee updates. Sooking up all the government pish.
  17. We had Hamilton and Albion Rovers last year, and Falkirk the year before. Can they just do away with the regionalising pish already? It’s stale as f**k already.
  18. He played every position through the middle I think. Reid had him down as a centre mid but I’m sure he played at centre half too. Roberts then took over and decided he was the centre forward to spearhead our second division title charge.
  19. This is the sort of insight I come to this board for.
