  1. The club have only just tonight opened the job to applications. Anyone getting "linked" at this stage will only be because they've either a) got some of their media chums to talk them up or b) Dave from Prestwick has chucked £20 quid on them at McBookie.
  2. A Q&A isn't a bad idea especially with so many people moaning for years that there was no communication from club to fans. It could do with being a better format though with questions submitted and only the sensible/legible ones being put forward.
  3. Out of all the names mentioned I’d take Houston. His record is largely good and we won’t get anyone who’s been flawless throughout their career - McCall certainly wasn’t either.
  4. I’d imagine Doolan is one of our higher earners as well - wouldn’t be the worst outcome.
  5. Gutted. The “I’ll be here as long as the club wants me” comments do stick a bit, but he won’t be getting any abuse from me. He’s turned the club around on and off the pitch, gave us some great moments, a title win and our highest league finish in nearly two decades. After the Roberts years it’s been a breath of fresh air. I really can’t hold anything against him after the last 2 and a bit years. I think he’s taking a big risk but that’s up to him. For us - whoever we appoint I think it’s an even bigger decision than normal. It’s not just about on the pitch - with the nature of our far-away chairman we need someone who is capable of driving the professionalism of the club as a whole in the same way McCall has. Not an easy decision for the board to make.
  6. He’s done alright with them but nothing spectacular to say he could jump up 2 leagues. People just touting him because he used to play for us.
  7. Chelsea should consider learning how to defend set pieces.
  8. Has the pitch been extended at the Olympic stadium? Fans look a lot closer to the pitch than I remember.
  9. As someone who only watches rugby a handful of times - scrums always stand out as being absolutely farcical. Any time it collapses the team in possession gets the penalty regardless of who’s at fault. Oh and so much for a straight put it, Irish boy there just chucking it in at about a 45 degree angle.
  10. Some brass neck on that simpleton banging on about bad winners after getting his arse handed to him last weekend.
  11. Isn’t he on record as saying (several times) that he’s here for as long as Lachlan wants him?
  12. I can’t be the only person who thinks the Haka is ridiculous.
  13. We played 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 the last 2 games and got regularly ripped apart - which I think was in part due to 2 either side of McTominay getting dragged all over the place. Add to that when they got pushed back it completely dismantled any link between midfield and attack. I think we look far better when we play a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-1-1. It restricts the sitting 2 far more in terms of positioning which to be honest I think we need to keep our shape. Then it gives you someone ahead of them who's a bit closer to the striker which should (in theory anyway) stop him from getting isolated up front.
  14. I hadn’t noticed the seethe Harvie stirred up from the Arab fans at his goal. You love to see it.
  15. You took our two best players from last season and still can’t beat us.
  16. Stewarty hurting I see. What a terrible, terrible wee shame.
  17. It’s not really “unfortunate” when it happens to half a dozen players every season.
  18. I’d completely forgotten about Paterson - given our other striking options he’s probably in with a shout whenever he’s over his injury.
  19. For what it’s worth I’m not convinced the 4-3-3 that we played the last two games suits us. 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 is the way to go I think - the defence and midfield certainly looked more solid in the Belgium away game with the 2 banks of 4 (even given we conceded 3 goals).
  20. Marshall Tierney ? McKenna Robertson McTominay ? ? Christie/Armstrong ? Griffiths/McBurnie f**k knows really, think we need to just try some options over the next few qualifiers to try have a better idea of an XI for the play-offs. It’s all well and good just picking your best players but just blindly chucking the best 11 onto the pitch doesn’t mean it’s the best team that compliment one another.
  21. You got a link for that? Quite interested to see what is for the other leagues as well. never mind just got it - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49608471
  22. Absolutely no way I’d be playing that same midfield after Friday.
