Yet another match thread emptier than a hermit's address book. Are we all just wanting the season to be over already? Or are we that unimpressed with the current trajectory of the squad that it's better to concentrate on watching "celebrities" eating sheep penis on TV??

Just have the current system of seeded and unseeded pots. You draw a seeded team first, then an unseeded team to play them. Then an unseeded team first then a seeded team to play them etc etc. If it comes out that a Euro team is drawn at home, the tie is simply flipped - so, I Rangers get a home draw against the lowest team left in (unlikely, I know....) they simply flip the tie to the unseeded team being at home.

TBH, I would happily have taken finishing second in the group at the start of the campaign. However, considering the position we were in after the last set of fixtures, it would be a real downer not to finish top and get promotion. Scotland way would be to lose a two goal lead to Israel, and succumb to a last-minute Czech winner against the Slovaks....

Why, has he been out injured for large chunks of the last three seasons????

The main thing I took from looking at that list is that, apart from Robinson, there's no truly outstanding "how on earth was he at Motherwell, rather than a much bigger club?"-type managers there. Brown was winding down and Davies has kind of skipped about the Championship level in England without ever being a roaring success for any length of time. Apart from Kampman, there aren't really any out and out stinkers there either, although can't remember Gannon at all. It must be at Boardroom level where the differences are, ours, frankly, haven't a clue...

The thing that really gets me is that we had the chance to be the unquestioned dominant team in the city for a decade or more and we pissed it away. DABS in the Championship and struggling to get up, and we had the chance to put together a team capable of challenging for top 6 year on year, like Motherwell or even the bloody fermers have managed until recently. I remember being the only non-DAB in my primary school class (early to mid 80's), because of what was happening across the road at that time and hating being surrounded by them everywhere. We had a chance for a generation of kids to go the other way and follow a successful team in Dark Blue. So, what do we do? Give the manager's job, in quick succession, to an untried TV pundit, a useless DAB and another untried manager. Go into a top flight season with Jack Hamilton as number 1 goalie and Moussa as our top striker. Sign Davies, Curran & Woods. Let a player who has a shot at being, if not world-class, then certainly a top-level, midfielder go the "Rangers" for £25 and some shiny buttons. Hopeless bunch of cvnts.

Yes, that's true, use the North/South split where possible to avoid re-pairings and random draw for the others.

European qualifiers have to play away from home. Teams from same group can't face each other in the last 16 - runners-up from South Group get North Group winners and vice-versa.

Lose this and we are really within sight of shit creek, with our paddle-grasping ability being called into serious question. Must start the new keeper and hope that at least one of our injured forwards are back from injury. Might just scrape a 1-1- draw if we are lucky. (Although that is a relative term, as it'll mean there is less chance of McPake getting punted.)

If this is true, then the really annoying thing is that surely he didn't only just realise over the last few weeks that we needed a new keeper, so why not look for one before the season started??? If he did only just realise over the last few weeks, then he's even worse than we imagined...

So, we are guaranteed to finish no lower than 2nd in our group, with a minimum of 9 points. Normally, this would be a safe place to be. However, as it's us, I am predicting that we will go into Sunday's game needing only to avoid a 6+ goal defeat to progress, promptly lose 3 early goals and a soft 4th before half time. Get an early second half stunner from Sir Charlie, then lose 3 goals after the 88th minute. Am I wrong???
