It would be a discussion for the ages as to what the bigger crime is/was - McCann thinking that having Moussa was our number one striker for over a season, or McPake thinking that Hamilton is a genuine number 1 goalie. We did start to have a few decent results just before the COVID shutdown, but am struggling to see how we can do any better than a distant 2nd with Hamilton in goals and no back-up for Hemmings up front. 70-odd days to get that fixed....

Not liking the fact that we play away on both the first and last game of the (regular) season. Pretty sure that happens a fair bit with us...

Our first home game of the season is usually to some diddy team, after getting the longest possible away game to start the season... ICT away first, followed by Alloa at Dens. All three games against Hearts to be live on TV, 8 red and 22 yellow cards across the three games...

Any idea when the draws for the diddy cups are happening? I think I saw the dates for the Betfred announced, but nothing about draws or the chocolate cup...

Thought Nelson was going to be the answer after his first few games last season - looked a real goal threat, put in loads of work, harassing defenders to try and get them to make mistakes etc. Then he got injured for a bit and never looked anything like as good again. Would still have preferred him as an option, but best of luck to him and let's hope McPake can pull something out of the bag. Do you think striker is now more important than keeper to fill? Especially if Kano goes too?

He is better than Hamilton, but don't think he is the long-term solution. It is utter madness that we still don't have a decent first-team keeper on the books...

Does anyone else do this, or is it just me?? My wife will occasionally buy me socks for my work, and usually gets a 5 or 6 pack of plain, black ones. Usually, they have small flashes of colour on them, usually on the heel. She gets really annoyed because I will refuse to wear any black socks that also have orange on them! I now have a drawer with three or four pairs of unworn, black socks with orange flashes on them. Is it just me, or am I justified in not wearing those two colours together, even if no-one else can see them?

Going off the current topic and talking about something a bit different, is there any chance of an official club app for your phone? Something like the website, but gives you alerts when there is a new signing/announcement etc, advance notice of ticket sales, strip launches, sales in the club shop etc, maybe even a way to manage/renew your season ticket. No idea how much it costs to set these things up, but I'm sure there must be some kind of similar thing that can be used as a template? May even have a way of donating to the club - like one of those things where if you spend say, £18.50 in a shop, you can chose to spend £20 and the difference goes to the club. I appreciate that it's probably not a priority just now, but it's these kind of things that help in the long run...

Isn't the whole point of the rule about members clubs abiding by decision of the Board meant to prevent exactly this situation? All disputes should be settled via the internal processes, rather than taken to expensive, external courts?? Hearts, Patrick, Utd, Cove & Raith should all be expelled for going outwith the internal processes. Sounds fair….

On paper, Meekings should have been a great signing for us, Unfortunately, football isn't played on paper... Definitely need another Central Defender now, as well as goalie, striker (or two) and creative midfielder. Over to you McPake...
