  1. Keep the start date as it is, use the time from August for League Cup/Tunnocks Tea-Cake Cup/whatever as a trial-run for working out how to accommodate crowds when they are allowed back properly (maybe with just one stand open or whatever) and be raring to go at the start of the season proper...
  2. Has to be Fin - can't see Ness, Byrne or McDaid being of serious interest to anyone on the topflight. I do presume that the whole story is crap, admittedly...
  3. On the BBC website today: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53132189 Top players never to win a Scotland cap - there's a profile of Sir Bobby Cox and a few former Dees in the "also worth a mention category" - Duffy, Duncan & Charnley(!). No mention of Seith, Wishart, Cousin, Wallace etc. Any other glaring omissions??
  4. Could be a different tie-breaker instead of goal difference/goals scored. If, for example, Raith & Alloa are level on points for the relegation play-off spot, whoever had to play the other team twice away gets the nod...
  5. Like Sevco will have any money?!?! It'll be Brentford or somewhere like that...
  6. Looks like, even though we have insurance in place, they won't pay out until a court ruling is issued. Really annoying for the club staff, but pretty much expected from insurance companies (who are miserable gits in general). Amended season ticket costs up too, along with a proper 6 or 12 month finance option, which is welcome news. Nothing in the statement about the possibility of having to make allowances for any legal actions that some (whiny) clubs may be undertaking, but the season ticket page suggest that allowances are being made for at least some games being played behind closed doors, with streaming options available - can only imagine how little chance there is of that working without buffering, crashing and other assorted IT disasters! Still, we do appear to be in better shape than many would have predicted if they had been told what was going to happen...
  7. Are you suggesting that we would be so petty and vindictive as to take pleasure in the discomfort and misery of others???
  8. Let's hope we are better at that than we are at the short game, because we're total shite at that....
  9. The Guardian article states that Stendel is likely to go, and the leading candidates to replace him are Robertson (signed a new deal with ICT today) and Neil McCann.... It's taken over 10 weeks, but there is finally something to brighten all our spirits.....
  10. League Reconstruction rejected, so a 27 game, 10 team Championship it is (Hearts' inevitable legal bleatings notwithstanding). I take it that will have an affect on season ticket pricing etc? Also, will it depend on if the first set of matches will be behind closed doors or not?
  11. Didn’t realise that caley had signed Sutherland. Could be a decent signing (depending on which league they are playing in, of course...)
  12. Looking at the current squad list (and presuming that the players out of contract in June are kept), I really see us only needing a keeper, central defender and one, maybe two, back-up strikers to be capable of doing the business next season. This assumes, of course, that the manager finally gets his head screwed on properly... Thoughts???
  13. It's been so long that I've pretty much forgotten everything! Is Hazard still on loan to us, or has he gone back? If he has gone back, do we just have flapjack as a 1st team keeper (allegedly)??
  14. We should table an amendment to the 14-10-10-10 proposal that, to keep "sporting integrity", the bottom placed Premiership team should still be relegated, then the top three from the Championship go up. I'm sure Ms Budge will agree that that would be the fairest way for things to proceed....
  15. Thank you, I was just about to log off when I read the original post and couldn't be arsed didn't have the time to look it up.
  16. From what I can remember, you can give any amount of money you like to anyone you want, but if you die within 3 (maybe 5, can't remember off the top of my head) years, then it is classed as part of your estate and subject to tax etc that way (if applicable)...
  17. Call their bluff : financial distribution of TV money equally, an end to 11-1 (or 13-1 if it's a top 14, I suppose) voting to stop one-of-you-know-how vetoing all votes, ending pish like the "being able to cancel 1 home league game for a friendly" and any and all other little things that favour the Bigot Brothers. I'm pretty sure that will bring an end to any ideas for a half-arsed reconstruction job at the moment...
  18. Also S - Sara, Scott, Speroni, Stephen, Stewart, even Swankie & Shinnie,
  19. Does that mean that the investor was able to do the funny handshake???
  20. I did think of him, but I think he falls into the Young/Zemlik zone!!!
  21. Now, I'm not saying my work is boring at the moment, but I started to compile a list of my favourite Dundee players that I have seen play live. Not necessarily the best, but my favourites, so if you want to compare and contrast your thoughts with my list, here it is (started going to Dens in mid-80's): A - Dariusz Adamczuk B - Steven Boyack C - Claudio Caniggia D - Jim Duffy E - Julen Etxabeguren F - Willie Falconer G - Bobby Geddes H - Jonay Hernandez I - Gary Irvine J - Ross Jack K - Temuri Ketsbaia L - Steve Lovell M - Tosh McKinlay N - Georgi Nemsadze O - Mark O'Hara P - Eric Paton R - Gavin Rae S - Barry Smith T - Stephen Tweed V - Dusan Vrto W - Morten Wieghorst That leaves Q, U, X, Y & Z. I'm too young to remember Ian Ure and don't think that Darren Young or Jan Zemlik were good enough, even though I have seen them "play". Any glaring errors?? I know I'll get stick for my "E" choice, but I liked him and it was pretty slim pickings there...
