  1. According to the ever-reliable Wikipedia, he's scored 69 goals in 410 games. Another prolific striker signing beckons...
  2. Happy to have him as an experienced back-up, but think we really need a proper number 1 for next season. No idea who, admittedly...
  3. 2-0 to Ross County - keeps us clear of play-off spot, but nearer to bottom if it stays that way. Unless the cousin-shaggers can find a way to blow a 2 goal lead???
  4. Well, the selling club would have to be some kind of bunch of incompetent idiots not to include such a clause in a tranfer deal for a player like Hendry.... ...
  5. Good point, totally forgot to add in that yes, we are atrocious at keeping possession from throw-ins. One of the basic fundamentals of the game and we seem incapable of throwing it to a team-mate and giving it back to the thrower without putting him under pressure.
  6. So, That went well... After having tea and almost calmed down, I can reflect on what has happened and what should happen next. Firstly, we are almost nailed-on to finish in the bottom two, unless some kind of miracle happens here or either Partick or Hamilton have a complete meltdown (Think County are certs for the bottom two as well). Can't see anything more than 1 point before the split as an absolute maximum and would probably take serious bets on us not scoring again before then either. It should be clear to everyone now that the radical step of employing a former pundit with almost no managerial/coaching experience hasn't been a success at all. The signings of Hendry and Kamara appear to have masked the fact that most of the signings he's made have either been absolutely rank - Wolters, Deacon, Moussa or pretty much "meh" - Spence, AJLS, Meekings etc. Even Caulker didn't look too clever today. Not signing a striker who can consistently hit the net after having two full windows is as close to negligent as you can get. Essentially swapping Allan for Murray appears to be another odd decision, although there may be other, behind the scenes issues that we are not fully aware of. There is no consistency in team selection. Fair enough, adapt tactically to the opposition or injuries/suspension, but some of his selections have been baffling (see particularly the game recently with Kerr at left back and Jon on bench). I honestly have no idea what he thinks our best XI is. Players seem to be played out of position at random, and are dropped after playing well - especially Waddell earlier in the season. Post-match interviews have focused too much on refereeing decisions and not on poor decisions and performances. Admit mistakes and accept responsibility. I honestly don't think we have a squad capable of staying out of the bottom two. Today showed that we are terribly lightweight, too easily forced of the ball and have no real plan beyond passing it backwards whenever possible. The number of times we play ourselves into trouble at the back, or end up playing a long ball upfield to the opposition anyway is just ridiculous. I can honestly say that I have yet to see any advantage from playing it out of the back - we don't seem to either entice the opposition out and are then able to start an attack or manage to find the killer pass (am happy to be put right on this, but I'm pretty confident there will be very few instances anyone can provide). As mentioned above, the lack of decent strikers is shocking and there seems to be little prospect of Wighton, Henvey or Smith (the lad scoring for the U20s?) picking up the slack. Midfield sees Kamara playing well, but apparently conditioned not to go forward, O'Hara usually being played out wide and not being effective (although that may be because he only plays well against the zombie team), McGowan running around a lot and dong those weird pirouettes when he gets any kind of forward momentum and Deacon flattering to deceive with no end product. No-one seems able to cross the ball well from open play and maybe 1 out of every 4 corners makes it into the box past the first defender. No wonder we find it hard to score... So, to be short, we are pish in pretty much every department, we don't have a plan A, B or C, have a terrible hit rate from recent signings and a manager that is out of his depth. We might get cheaper season tickets in the Championship next season, I suppose...
  7. I honestly can't see us scoring from open play at any point in the near future. We look semi-dangerous at corners and free kicks (when the ball doesn't hit the first defender, go out for a goal kick or land in the goalie's hands), but that's about it. We allegedly have pace with Deacon and Murray, but seem unable to play a decent through ball for them to run on to. We should have good aerial ability with Haber (& Moussa to a lesser extent) as we saw last season, but it's just not there. We should have goals from midfield but, unless we are playing faux-Rangers and O'Hara scores, we don't. Not really sure what AJLS brings to the team, I wish we could see more from El Bak, as I think he's got real talent, and Wighton, Henvey and the young lad Smith may have more to offer in seasons to come. God, it's depressing being a Dee. Still, things could be worse. (Please see 200m down the road for more details...)
  8. Start praying for a Partick win on Saturday - that Tory, Hamilton-supporting tosspot has said he'll never post again if Accies lose. We live in hope...
  9. I like O'Hara - think he has the potential to be a great player. I don't like seeing him play out wide, I feel he's much better driving at the defence with the ball at his feet or making late runs into the box. Get him signed on a longer deal and I'm sure he'll develop into a quality player. Ideally, him driving forward, Kamara holding and AN Other in the playmaker role would be a strong midfield 3. What's Harkins up to these days????
  10. Saw the cup "highlights" on TV (BTW woman commentator said that we had a couple of decent chances in the first half, but didn't bother showing them!!), and have to say that Parrish didn't look good for either goal. Also, why can't we get a cunting striker that can score from open play??????
  11. Please tell me you don't work in either a school or a funeral directors...
  12. Would have got a greenie, but you said "Roundabout", rather than "Circle"!!!
  13. Small comfort, but County are getting absolutely pumped by the Mutton Molesters. Is it too early to say that a win on Saturday for us would see us clear of automatic relegation??
  14. Most of this makes little sense - getting rid of Bain is a good idea in principle, but letting him go for nothing after Celtic have had cash bids for Carson (?) from 'Well isn't smart. Allan has been god in fits and starts, but not spectacular, so losing him wouldn't be horrific. Murray has goals in him, but also has baggage and a question mark about his recent form. Losing Hendry at the moment, for less than £1.5 million, is nuts. Fully expect all these deals to go through, then...
  15. He's certainly shown that he can find the net from open play, which is a bonus, but don't feel that he adds a whole lot else. Not a terrible piece of business (another 5-10 goals this season would be most welcome), but am hoping something else is in the pipeline...
  16. Was listening to the radio the other day, and "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" by Bananarama came on. OK, I was actually listening to their Greatest Hits CD driving down from Aberdeen to Dundee, but that's beside the point... Anyway, it struck me that it would make a great chat if could get a final line. So far, it's: Glen Kamara Glen Kamara Hey Hey... What should the final line be?
  17. Always said Hartley was a brilliant manager... Dundee legend!!!
  18. He was meant to be on Reporting Scotland too, but it got cut short as the audio wasn't working. He was talking about teaching young footballers not to get taken in by scam tax avoidance schemes. He was captioned as being "Former Scotland and Celtic Goalkeeper".
  19. That one alone is on the shortcut key of whoever does the official match reports...
  20. I take it I can't alter my top ten to include Davie Bowman??? Can't believe I forgot about the despicable, ugly, ginger cvnt...
  21. My list was: Paul Sturrock, Alan Main, Mixu, Davie Dodds, Dougie Imrie, Scott Brown, Barry Ferguson, Graeme Souness, Craig Bellamy & Jimmy Sandison. Cvnts one and all...
