  1. Still can't believe he doesn't rate Kharl. Totally nonplussed about the other two...
  2. Was looking at out fixtures after the split (anything to avoid thinking about Saturday's game!), and I noticed that the next time we are due to play the green bigots is Saturday 16th March. I presume this will be moved for tv, so we will probably end up playing them on St Patrick's Day. Can you imagine the state their fans will be in that day? Doesn't bear thinking about, any more than the inevitable 5-0 pumping we'll get....
  3. All of this delay proves my theory that @Ludo*1 is actually Theresa May, and is only going to finish this once brexit is settled. Xmas 2035 it is, then...
  4. So, with Ralph not getting his red card rescinded, I assume that Calvin will move to left back to cover. That leaves us with, as far as I can see, two options: Keep McGowan playing off Kenny "goal machine" Miller and play Nabi wide left, or move McGowan back and play Benji off K "gm" M... Also, does O'Dea come straight back in for Boyle if fit?
  5. Unbeaten in 4 games, which has included: two games where we came from behind to equalise (once from 2 down), one where we played for 70-odd minutes with only 10 men and a 4-0 thrashing. Can anyone honestly say that we could have expected any of these at all under McCann?? Even having said this, can't really see us getting any more than 1 or 2 points before Christmas...
  6. If only Morton could have got a winner, it would have been as if they had been hand-picked...
  7. Looked much better with Ralph at left back and C Miller further forward (I presume he must have been injured to have been taken off, can't believe it was tactical), and Woods gave a bit of dig in midfield (although, to be fair, I think Mandianga could do the same kind of job in there). Still the same old problem - lots of decent play, created some openings and put them under pressure for spells of the game, but couldn't convert chances. So frustrating to watch as the final pass was misplaced, or a cross hit the first defender, or someone chose the wrong option etc etc. We still don't look like we could take points off anyone other than the teams we already have, so more improvement is still needed. However, it was a weird feeling leaving Dens without losing and having watched a decent performance (for the most part). 5 goal humping from Hibs incoming...
  8. TV deal is only about the money that my club gets, as far as I'm concerned; the only games we ever get covered are home games that I go to anyway or, back in the mists of time, away games across the road, which I would be going too as well. Can't honestly remember the last time we were on a live away game apart from that. (Queue comments about no one wanting to watch them anyway.) We will get a piddling offer, take it and then moan about the crap scheduling of games, as per usual...
  9. 7 points from safety after only 12 games - would happily take the playoff place right now, even though we would definitely lose it. Lose on Saturday and even that will be a fantasy.
  10. Don't want to judge Woods until he's misplaced at least one pass for us (), but would still like to see Kamara & Kharl doing the holding/covering in midfield, to let the "creative players" that we allegedly have do their stuff. Kamara at left back, Kallman holding and Woods wide right it is, then....
  11. Absolutely no sign of any tactical adaptations or attempts to alter tactics at all last night. Kerr and Deacon/Miller were getting skinned alive pretty much any time they had the ball down our right hand side, but nothing seemed to be done, other than Miller & Deacon swapping wings every ten minutes. I honestly don't think McIntyre has a clue how to organise a team or adapt tactically when things aren't going well. We are totally fvcked unless Hamiton or St Mirren totally implode.
  12. Not sure which will be more painful on Wednesday - the match or re-reading the last 10 pages of this pish...
  13. According to the post-match interview on the radio after Tuesday's (mis-)match, we will have the Assistant Manager sorted out by the end of this week. Make of that what you will...
  14. McIntyre can't really bring in new players (Woods and, God help us, Quinn, excepted!!), so he can either change the team tactically or shuffle the current squad on matchday to bring out the best in players already here. Can anyone honestly say that we've looked better organised in the last two games? That we've had a stronger starting line-up this week, compared to before? That we have been better organised and better prepared in defence? I honestly think that not getting at least 4 points from the first two games in November will mean we are off to Cappielow and Palmerston next season...
  15. Have held off posting about the Dodds situation until now, but wanted to have my say before the horrors of tonight's match unfold... Two things first: Admin was a terrible business, and no-one, except the fans (and some of the players), really came out of either process with much in the way of credit. Businesses and individuals lost money that was rightfully theirs, officials inside and outwith the club could and should have done more to ward off some things that happened and the authorities laid themselves bare to criticism over the "interesting" way rules seemed to be made up or changed from previous and later administrations. Dodds had every right to reject the offer given to him by the club, for whatever reasons he may or may not wish to share with the general public, and the fact that he exercised that right is entirely his decision and I fully respect his choice. OK, my opinion: There is no footballing reason why he shouldn't be appointed. He has (I believe) the appropriate qualifications to be appointed to such a position. He has experience in a similar post, in the top flight and the second tier, and has worked with the current Manager before. However, there is no footballing reason why he should be appointed. I don't see evidence that he has made a major, instrumental change in the footballing success or otherwise of the teams he has been involved with, he doesn't appear to be regarded by anyone, as far as I know, as some kind of coaching guru who will immediately improve the team and guarantee success. This means to me that is a personal preference of McIntyre to have him as his assistant. The goodwill of the fans is usually a given for a new manager. This can be eroded by poor results, selling star players etc, but that usually takes months to happen. Appointing someone, after it is obvious that the majority of fans are "uneasy", to put it mildly, about the appointment, is basically emptying this reserve of goodwill immediately. McIntyre, Dodds and Nelms/Keyes must realise this by now; so if this goes any further, they are either dismissive of it, sure it'll turn out to be a roaring, "Clarke at Killie"-style success, or they don't care. None of these options are good. At all. One final point - can you imagine that any of the pundits, on TV, radio or in print, would be even discussing this if it were someone who had voted to liquidate Rangers and was being offered a role in Stevie G's team???? Right, off to get pished before the inevitable 4-0 humping by the Jambos...
  16. You think Dundee fans are ever positive about the club????? Rookie mistake.
  17. It is a bit odd that we didn't get the "XX will take charge of first team affairs" patter that you usually get in these statements...
  18. So, usual suspects for any managerial vacancy: McIntyre, Hughes, Butcher, Stuart McCall, Ian McCall, Duffy, Lambert, Stubbs, Coyle, Houston, McCoist, McPherson, Davies. Dundee-specific ones: Duffy (again), Jocky, Temuri, Wieghorst, Robbie Neilson (purely for the bantz...), McInally The options are... underwhelming, to say the least. (apart from the mad Georgian, obviously...) Any others??
  19. Any Dundee fan worth their salt will tell you which one of those guesses is correct...
  20. The club can confirm that Manager Neil McCann has today left the club. We have explored alternative options to support the management staff recently but unfortunately these did not come to fruition. Assistant Manager Graham Gartland has been relieved from his role. Neil was appoint Interim Manager in April 2017 and steered the club clear of relegation with five matches of the 2016/17 season remaining. In the summer he was appointed as Manager of the club and in his first full season with the club achieved a 9th place finish with highlights in the season including a victory over Dundee United in the Betfred Cup and Rangers in the Ladbrokes Premiership. This season after progression from the Betfred Cup group stage a run of defeats in the league came to the end with a win over Hamilton Accies at the end of September. The following week the team were beaten at home to Kilmarnock. We would like thank Neil and Graham for their efforts while in charge and wish them all the best for the future.
