Very much appreciate your advice on that one. I’ve probably underestimated how cold it gets and the winds were horrendous a wee while back. Can be a bit heavy moving it but I’ll certainly give it a try.

Kept my olive tree in the garden room throughout the winter to shelter it from the cold. The garden room doesn’t get much light in the winter (glass predominantly faces westwards). Made sure the tree still got a little water. When I took the plant out a few weeks ago I notice some yellowing to the tips of some leaves. I re-potted it into a larger pot but the yellowing of the leaves appear to be getting worse. Any ideas what is wrong?

My oldest football related piece of clothing would be this T-shirt I had in primary school. I’ve still got quite a lot of Armani, Paul Smith clothing from the late 80s / early 90s. Had a lot more but sold quite a bit of it on Vinted recently.

I’m merely giving stats. It’s many, many years since I studied economics so I wouldn’t presume to know a feasible way to try to balance the books. If truth be told I’m not convinced top economists do either.

Does that not just mean Celtic fans would have to travel from Glasgow to buy those tickets from the shop?………….

I’m not saying anything. I just took the figures from an article released today regarding inheritance tax. Another interesting fact (at least to me) is the total value of UK homes is almost £9 trillion.

Figures out today show that £7.5 billion was raised from inheritance tax last financial year. To give some sort of context in the same period benefits payments increased £39.6 billion to £291.4 billion and the Treasury borrowed £120.7 billion. There were no figures in the report detailing current government debt but last figures I saw stated it is north of £2.5 trillion.

I don’t know about the 40s but I think he likes to talk about the late 70s / early 80s quite a bit…….

I’ve noticed some older folk loose track of the value of money and kind on regress back to their childhood with regards to what value they place on money / items that were once of value. I wonder how much 5p was the equivalent of back in the 40s?

Excellent RG. That is much clearer and makes much more sense to me. Thank you. I had assumed any DMZ would be half in Syria’s land and half in Israel’s land, thereby creating a buffer zone in both countries where the military didn’t enter. A show of goodwill if you like from both sides. From reading the replies to my post I read it that the part of the DMZ that the tractors were in was on the Israel side of the DMZ.

It’s quite funny how some United fans discuss the 80s like it was only a few years ago. For the younger posters on here this was the cutting edge of electric vehicles in those days.

A mate from work used to say something similar. He’d often say “I came into this world with nothing. If I leave it £1/4 million in debt it sounds like I’d be quids in.”

21 years is indeed a long time, although I’m not sure United have exactly been a leading light on the European scene in recent years. I genuinely don’t know the answer so it may be quite recently but when did United last reach the first round proper of any European cup?

I see what you are both saying now. I genuinely do appreciate your patience with me. Having said that I’m still a bit surprised that Syria wouldn’t have seen the potential problems of striking whilst the tractors were still in Israel (albeit a demilitarised area). I would have thought they would have been better ignoring this for what is was and only considering action if the tractors entered Syria.

Very much appreciate you taking the time to explain this in detail, although I’m more depressed than ever about any possible solution. I just can’t see there being a solution in our lifetimes. One thing I still can’t understand though. Is the demilitarised area in Israel or Syria? If it is in Israel why would Syria fire on tractors ploughing land in Israel? Would it not simply be better ignored?

This may not be popular with a lot of Dundee fans but I believe McCowan’s overall contribution this season to the team has been better that’s that of Greig Stewart when he was at Dens. That’s not in a criticism of Stewart. I genuinely wouldn’t swap McCowan for Cantwell, Dessers, Dowell or Silva and that’s not just based on last night’s performances. I have no idea how much those four players cost.

Sorry, I’m not understanding the bit on bold. Why would Syria respond to farmers in tractors being near their border. I’m assuming I’m misunderstanding?

I honestly don’t think there are many posters on P&B that would wake up the morning after Rangers dropping points in the title race and think “I want to discuss the manner in which Dundee fans celebrated.” Each to their own though.

Clement concentrated way too much on the Dundee pitch. I presume that’s why he picked so many players that simply swan around.
