  1. Agreed that Deacon's crosses weren't great. Big part of the reason it was such a frustrating afternoon for Moussa.
  2. I thought there was quite a lot to be positive about. Deacon, Kamara, Allan all showed some real class today. I've criticised him in the past but Holt was superb today. Some great defending and helped out with the attack on a good few occasions. We had more possession and more shots on goal. Really need to make the most of our chances though. I thought Haber might have had more of an impact as a sub today, rather than El Bak.
  3. There's a bit in the Tele saying Haber was with the U20s squad at the weekend. If Haber's not recovering from a knock it looks like McCann is either trying to teach him a lesson or push him out the door. Hopefully Hately was in the U20s squad as well!
  4. The point remains. Why is there a need to make a game that was always going to be poorly attended all ticket? By making it all ticket you either have to turn up earlier to buy one / collect (if previously purchased online) or attend Dens on a day prior to the match to get the ticket. Totally bonkers. You can't make it up. Do we still play the reserve matches at Montrose? Are they all ticket?
  5. Doesn't help when they make it all ticket in the Derry for a match like this. Obviously can't use the season ticket so turned up with 5 minutes to go expecting to be able to pay at the gate only to be told I had to buy a ticket from the club shop first. A lesser Dee would have given up but not me! A quick sprint (by my standards) up the Provie Road followed by a slow wait in the long queue and I had the ticket that let me enter the same gate that I was refused entry from 10 minutes earlier! Still, El Bak's goal alone was worth it.
  6. Couldn't agree more. On a seperate note what about some of Scott Allan's passing? His vision is truly superb at time. With their constant movement off the ball Deacon and El Bak should benefit big time from Allan's passing.
  7. Makes you wonder if McCann has his eye on another forward but has to get a high earner out the door first. Haber's not featured much and neither has Hately.
  8. I thought McGowan did a lot of defensive midfield work very well today. Like G Man says though he did give the ball away a lot. A big part of the reason for this is because he doesn't have a left foot. I can't believe the number of times a simple left foot pass was on but he either turns back (holding up a quick move as a result) to get the ball on his right foot or does a weak pass with the outside of his right foot. He really does have to learn that his left leg is not just for standing on.
  9. The last paragraph sums it up to perfection. Superb! Made me think about when I was a kid and used to use the Derry steps that are now closed. I was going to dodge today's match but my father, his father and his father never dodged home games and neither should I. Come on Dundee!
  10. That can't possibly be true, can it? Surely no board of directors of any club would lower themselves to that level. Nice to see you don't want to answer any of the embarrassing points raised about the way your club handled the situation. In fact I'm pretty sure no United fan would even try to defend the way it was handled. Best stick to the tried and tested I've seen my team win the Scotiish Cup and ignore everything else routine.
  11. Not according to the statement rushed out by your club after the match. United's press release claimed that enquiries had been made and United were satisfied that no biting had taken place. To make matters worse they also suggested that Cifti had been racially abused but bizarrely, despite making such a serious allegation, never took it any further than that. The whole episode showed a real lack of class by United.
  12. What? Now I'm massively disappointed. Throw in a winger as well I say. Nothing better than the Kevin Keegan approach to picking a team.
  13. Would love to see that. My only concern would be whether FEB and Wighton could assist the midfield defensively enough.
  14. Probably means he owns a Audemars Piguet but didn't want to upstage the boss and his Rolex.
  15. If truth be told Low's lack of ability and McCann not simply building a midfield with anyone under 5'10" spells the end for Nicky Low. Low did however get Demel sent of in the New Year derby, so he's not a complete waste of a signing.
  16. Failed to get permission for this one I'm afraid. Earning credits so that I can get to the more important away days when the season proper starts! Any chance someone could post how the new signings get on? Oh, and what McCann is wearing as well please
  17. Exactly. In fact because of that we can definitely rule out Dundee signing Vardy.
  18. Definitely not to my taste Biggie. It's a relatively new brand (2000 ish) and all a bit brash and synthetic to me. No matter how much it tries it will never have the rich heritage that Rolex has. It's a bit like the difference between United and Dundee.
  19. Judging by his $750,000 Richard Mille watch he's wearing at Wimbledon Rafael Nadal could be the next Dundee signing. He'd fit right in at Dens I reckon. Probably just waiting until Wimbledon is over - that would explain the delay.
  20. I'm pretty sure everyone in this city thinks of 90+3 when it comes to Wighton.
  21. I guess we'll never know how you'd react if St Johnstone won the top trophy in Scottish football
  22. St Johnstone have only won a single major trophy in their entire history and look how unbearable some of their fans are. Imagine what they would be like if they had a bit of European success.
  23. Once Ian Cathro has had a full pre-season with his team I fully expect most teams to beat Hearts!
  24. Surely someone, somewhere is willing to pay his £2k a week wages to have a dead ball specialist in their team
  25. ....and he wears a Casio G Shock watch. Good, but as we've all agreed, not good enough when you play for Dundee!
