  1. Spence obviously knows it's a massive step up joining Dundee and judging by what McCann said he seems willing to put in the effort to get into the first team.
  2. I'd rather have 11 players with the attitude of Kerr and O'Dea than paying over the odds for someone who has seen better days. I'm never convinced you get 100% from a player that's on the wind down.
  3. Can't see the watch properly on the Dundee website because of the caption "Cammy signs extension". A sackable offence for whoever does the website IMO!
  4. Seems like a lifetime ago. Fairly sure United were away to Arbroath that day and there was trouble at that match too. Early - mid 90s? Remember though, no room for violence in today's modern society. Not even the hanging of a DJ even though the music he constantly plays says nothing to me about my life.
  5. Good effort Biggie. I think I said it was a Rolex GMT. That must be worth a half mark for being close Scott Allan was wearing what looked like a Patek Philippe Aquanaut at his signing (correct me if I'm wrong). It's class all the way with Dundee!
  6. I'm glad you know where it is for the season ahead.
  7. Wrong? Your not telling me you look up to Brechin are you?
  8. Be honest with yourself, you want your local inferior rival Brechin to be poorer so that you look better. We look down at United, United look down at Brechin. That 's the order it goes in. The sooner you get used to it the less bitter you will be.
  9. Lazy journalism. If they waited outside Corfu Kebabs I'm sure they could have easily caught up with Hartley for a quote.
  10. Given how bad their current situation is plenty of United fans have taken to asking how many trophies have Dundee fans seen their team win. I think their logic is that if you've not seen the winning of a trophy it doesn't count, or at the very least doesn't mean as much in a club's history. That would explain why so many United fans didn't turn up for the Doon Derby. They never saw it so it doesn't count. It's no wonder so many United fans are struggling to accept United are a Championship side. So, with that in mind for the upcoming derby how about a banner with a picture of Pa Broon with the with the words "Pa Broon kens your doon".
  11. Perth boys night out in Dundee? By the way that's a terrible way to describe one of your mates.
  12. I'm only saying how I saw it and I could be totally wrong but it looked to me like too many players had given up on Hartley. Hartley himself had said he had tried everything (he could think of). His interview after the Hamilton match to me was one of a broken man. It certainly didn't inspire me, so I'm not sure how it would have inspired the players to two wins and a draw.
  13. I don't doubt Hartley put in the hours. The trouble is just because your hard working doesn't mean your necessarily any good. If you need heart surgery don't look for a hard working heart surgeon, look for a good one. Whatever we end up paying it will be worth it. There is absolutely no way we would have stayed up if Hartley had stayed. Hartley must surely have known there was no real hope that he could keep us up. He had no intention of resigning though as presumably he didn't want to walk away from the money. Not saying there is anything wrong with that from an individual's point of view but I do think that makes it easier for the board to show Hartley no sentiment and drive as hard a bargain as they can for the good of the club.
  14. I reckon Hartley knows he's never going to be manager of a half decent club again. Any future employer will look at how much he had to spend, where his team finished each year in the league and more importantly the sort of team he assembled after 3 / 4 years in charge. If that's not enough his interview after the Hamilton game at Dens was an utter disgrace. When asked directly if Dundee could stay up he twice said "hopefully". Yet when he was sacked 2 / 3 days later he said he would have definitely kept Dundee up. Utterly embarrassing. Remember Hartley was the man that said he had tried EVERYTHING to turn things around.
  15. Philistine It's an addiction Looks like a Rolex GMT to me. Anyway. Back to the football. Any rumours at all who McCann is interested in bringing in?
  16. Merger with Jeanfield Swifts on the cards? Should add about 50% to your home support if it goes ahead.
  17. He'd just signed from Dunfermline when the photo had been taken so I reckon it's a TW Steel. When he's sold next year for £2 million after banging in 30 goals for us he'll be wearing an Audemar Piguet Royal Oak I reckon.
  18. Ross is needed at St Mirren to make sure United stay where they belong. McCann has realised he can't go more than a couple of weeks without hearing the roar of the Derry. Everyone is happy. Job done.
  19. We're going nowhere. If United keep on going the way they are Tannadice will make a great car park for Dens.
  20. Can't blame McCann for not taking the job. I wish him all the best. Thanks for helping out - again. The big worry is that McCann knew how many of the current squad were not up to scratch and after talking to the board has realised how difficult it will be to move them on and bring in replacements. Hartley really did leave a complete mess.
  21. He clearly doesn't get paid enough. I heard two people paid £400 each for an hour gym session with him as part of an auction at his testimonial dinner.
  22. That's no way to treat an senior player in his testimonial year. A player that has led you to......actually that was going to be a bad example.
  23. United united didn't have McKinnon's most expensive signing playing though. Wonder what difference Toshney would have made?
