  1. No surprise there. After all the boasting before the last derby about the size of their support I’m just surprised United never sold out three stands. This is one of the biggest teams to have visited Tannadice in the last 4 seasons.
  2. For the 1,940th time. We didn’t relegate United. It was the results over the course of the season that relegated United. I certainly am. I never even bothered to check how many United fans turned up for the Doon Derby until Old Man Danger made the claim that if Dundee sold less than 2000 tickets for the recent derby at Tannadice it would be the smallest away support for a Dundee derby since he started supporting United. It certainly looked like United had less than 2,000 fans that night. It turned out I was right.
  3. Not only a keeper but a keeper worth paying money for:
  4. I can give you 1,940 reasons why it must be a city wide thing.
  5. I think I just saw McPake raise an eyebrow. That’s the most animated I’ve ever seen him.
  6. Correct. I don’t think either Dundee side will ever win a major trophy again. I’m afraid both Dundee sides are stuck on 5 major trophies each.
  7. Flap Jack is absolutely prone to these sorts of incidents and everyone knows that. Unbelievably McCann paid money for Hamilton and McPake has put absolute faith in him and had kept him in the team whenever he is fit.
  8. The same way every manager gets a job at Dundee with Nelms in charge.
  9. Amazing what can happen when you break quickly with the ball. None of this turning back on yourself that Dundee players are obsessed with. Then again, the Motherwell players have been well coached and know where their team mates will be. Our players look like two five a side teams that have been cobbled together!
  10. Especially good crowd considering it is an evening game. I remember United only bringing 1,940 to Dens for an evening derby at Dens.
  11. It’s in the cup, it’s live on TV and a Saturday evening kick off is a massive no for me (not that TV companies or the SFA would care about that). Every year I get a season ticket before the season starts. Usually in July when hopes are high. It makes sure I go to every home league game each season. Genuinely, fair play to any Dundee fan who has seen us this season and is still willing to pay at the gate for a match.
  12. - £20 a ticket for a Saturday evening game in January that is live on TV. - The standard of football McPake has served up this season is extremely poor. It’s actually becoming embarrassing watching McPake standing on the touch line looking at his shoes when things inevitably go wrong. The only time he seems animated is when the referee makes a mistake. -It would take me a bit of effort (buy a ticket, defrost the car, park a bit away fro the ground, walk to the ground etc, etc) to attend this match. More effort that one or two of our regular players seem capable of matching when they are on the pitch and certainly more effort than I see from McPake and Nicholl on the touch line. If it’s all the same I will stay in a warm house having a few beers while I watch the match.
  13. Do you think Nelms will will get the message?
  14. Looks like there is a customer for every goal he scored for us!
  15. Absolutely pointless bringing Wighton back on loan. It would just be money wasted. We have no chance of promotion with the team and manager we have. Wighton would only be here until the summer in any case so he would just be keeping a player we intend to keep out the team.
  16. D TOTAL, I’ve been to every game at Dens this season. You have no idea how lucky you are. Settle down in front of the fire and watch a movie. Given the circumstances this movie would be appropriate.
  17. Despite having next to no knowledge of Scottish football Nelms has been given three chances to get the right manager. He has failed spectacularly each time. What makes it worse is every time he appoints a new manager he changes what qualities / experience he says he was looking for when making his decision. In terms of managerial appointments and playing his part in ensuring the player budget is wisely used (in terms of contracts, purchases and sales etc) there can be little argument that Nelms has fallen well short of what is required.
  18. Sorry, I missed that post with all the white noise on here. Any indication in the article whether MK Dons have lost interest or whether Dorrans is holding out for a better gig?
  19. Hardly. As Granny Danger implied when he posted on the derby thread anything less than 2,000 fans for either team at a derby is embarrassing. I always like to be fair so I should perhaps point out that GD posted that when it looked like Dundee were going to sell less than 2,000 tickets and he thought United took more than 2,000 to the Doon Derby. He was wrong on both counts of course.
  20. That may not surprise you but it would appear that learning the lowest away support to attend a Dundee derby since you started supporting United was only 1,940 fans did surprise you.
  21. Says the man that for the past 3 seasons has done a disappearing act following the play offs
  22. He is worried the away end will only hold 1,939 and he can’t get a ticket.
  23. Stop worrying about the stadium GD. I know you like it when posters repeat themselves ad nauseam - or why else would you do it? So here goes. You don’t need to worry about the new stadium. The away end will hold at least 1,940, so all the loyal United supporters should all get a ticket. Incidentally I believe 1,940 is the smallest away support at a Dundee derby since you started supporting United.
