  1. If the way he manages a team is anything like his painting and decorating skills I reckon if you gave McPake a free licence to be as creative as he could with your lounge you’d end up with something like this Biggie.
  2. Killing the club is a little strong but there is no doubt Nelms has been central to the decline of Dundee in the last few seasons. From where I’m sitting Nelms simply doesn’t know enough about football to make any meaningful contribution to the footballing side of the business. His managerial appointments have been shambolic, as has his interviews when trying to justify said appointments. This is the man who actually BELIEVED McIntyre and Dodds would be a good fit for the club!
  3. We are a team totally devoid of ideas. This team reflects the manager. Anyone that can’t see that is either in denial or they are John Nelms!
  4. I’d certainly rather have McPake doing painting and decorating for me than managing my team!
  5. Zero response from the bench. Nothing has changed throughout the half. I think I’ve worked out what is wrong though. We are a very defensively minded team (slow build up etc) and we are not very good at defending! Not a great combination.
  6. Granny doesn’t need to worry. The latest I heard about the plans was that the away end was going to hold 1,940. He should manage to get a ticket no problem.
  7. Correct, nothing funny about only 1,940 away fans at a Dundee derby. Rather sad actually.
  8. Here is a test for your longer term memory. Not that It suggesting you are on constant repeat GD but in an equally repetitive manner, what Dundee derby game had the lowest away support since you started supporting United?
  9. Sorry to hear about your loss Biggie. A lot of good people in that stand.
  10. Given that there are only 1,940 of them it’s a tough ask to convince anyone you’re a diehard United fan.
  11. Your sounding like a St Johnstone fan there. Happy to talk about selective achievements but always ignoring the big prize.
  12. For clarification, Boyd wasn’t measuring the similarities or dissimilarities between the two players as your statement suggests. He was comparing the media reaction. There is a subtle difference.
  13. .......and yet it still wasn’t the smallest away support at a Dundee derby* since Granny Danger started watching United (and that is a long, long time ago) * I will give you three guesses what game had the smallest away support. To be nice I will give you a couple of clues - 1,940 United fans turned up for the match and Hoolie became a TV star for the night.
  14. Yes, you are correct. It was because of this banner that Thompson sold up. I can’t believe some people think it’s because he had sold every player worth any money and that the only thing left to sell was the club itself.
  15. We certainly didn’t need to worry about your banners in the league for three seasons after this banner. In case you have forgotten there were 1,940 United fans in that stand that evening. I’m led to believe that is the lowest away support for a Dundee derby in the time you have followed United
  16. Yes, there were only 1,940 there. You’ve got to wonder what the other 10,000 fans were doing that night. The additional 5,000 that were there last night will only turn up when they think they are guaranteed a notable victory. That’s just the way it is, some things will never change. You will see that when you play the Old Firm teams next season. A United poster on here was suggesting that you should only give the Old Firm a minimum allocation of tickets and United fans would buy the rest. There is little chance Tannadice would be a sell out if that was to happen.
  17. GD will be grateful for letting us know Dele given how interested he is in the size for crowds.
  18. Seeing as you appear so interested in the size of crowds and in keeping with the festive spirit I thought it would be nice to let you know BT said there were 2,000 away fans last night. If accurate, that makes the 1,940 away fans at the Doon Derby the lowest away support for a derby since you started watching United.
  19. Meekings wasn’t perfect tonight but he is huge improvement on Forster. Given the season so far that was a great 2nd half performance.
  20. Only one major problem there Dele, Kerr had his own man and McGowan didn’t have the legs to follow his own man.
  21. It would have been nice if McGowan followed his man (I accept he is too slow at running to do that) and it would have been nice if Meekings had used his feet instead of trying to head the ball.
  22. Hopefully everyone had a very Derry Christmas. I’m sure this year, unlike the last 3/4 years, one or two United supporters will have been given a laptop, mobile phone, tablet or similar device for Christmas that will allow them to create an account on P&B to discuss the rest of the season.
  23. 1940 was the quoted attendance. You may or may not be surprised that the official records make no reference as to whether you attended or not.
