Are there any players linked with us that aren’t just made up rumours by attention seekers on AFC-Chat? -

Can't see it, even if Aberdeen don't go in for him he'd have better options than going down to the championship. -
I think the Ulster Unionists are still about but no idea what sort of shape they’re in these days.

Not to another Scottish team at least. -

There must have been a clause in his loan deal that said he had to play a certain amount of games as long as he was fit. It's not like there were other guys in amazing form but the way McInnes would rotate everyone but him in the attacking positions was baffling at times. -

Capacity at Pittodrie is more than 20,000 currently so wouldn't imagine any more of them would get spaces than they do now. -

Yeah after how half-hearted his performances looked second half of the season I'm not sure I would pay that either. -

I think Shaughnessy could have done a job if he'd been given a chance at centre half rather than right back but that's very much said with the benefit of hindsight. Didn't think he was that great at the time but he seems to have done a decent job at St. Johnstone. No worse than a lot of defenders we've had at least. -

Nah both were early McInnes signings. -

Sure, but the argument is obviously that without playing them we'll never find out if they're good enough. Who knows what would have happened with McKenna if Arnason, O'Connor and Reynolds hadn't underperformed last season. I certainly don't think McInnes started the season thinking he was going to build the defence around him. -

Weirdly the Sun reported that he signed for them on the 7th but the Record is saying on the 13th that he is "believed" to be about to sign shortly so who knows. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hamilton-boss-martin-canning-wants-12697671 -

Tony Watt is also a risk for just about any Scottish team though, especially considering the relatively limited budgets most sides operate on. Has he managed to stay long enough at any club to be labeled “good” at them. Undoubtedly has some potential but it could be argued he hasn’t really delivered for any side he has played with. -
Celtic are doing about what should be expected of them from their seeding etc. Best they can hope for is a decent draw at the group stage so they can aim for Europa league. Would take an exceptionally kind draw for qualification from the group's to be a possibility.

We lost quite a few midfielders so wouldn't say that for definite. Could play him alongside Gleeson and move Shinnie back to left back? But I think it's more likely that we're out of the running for him. -

You think we could have a Man Utd away to Southampton situation then? -

How exactly would they go about becoming independent without at the minimum leaving the EU temporarily? It wouldn’t be in an Independent Scotland’s control so seems weird to criticise those seeking Independence for that. I’m sure if the EU had said they would immediately grant Scotland membership the Yes campaign would have been delighted.

That's O'Connor confirmed at Bradford as expected. Mixed feelings about him. Decent player on his day but certainly can't imagine he'd be hard to replace. -
I’m pessimistic that Yes would win a second referendum and am a bit surprised that more unionists aren’t in favour of a referendum just beacuse it would likely put the issue to bed for a long time but your scenario is pure fantasy. The tories would never get enough to get an overall majority, SNP wouldn’t prop them up, neither would labour if they had any form of sense which after what happened post referendum they just about would and neither would the miraculously raised from the dead SSP/RISE. The only chance of it happening would be the Lib Dems joining up but given how small their vote is it would be incredibly unlikely. Most likely scenario if the SNP vote did collapse would be some sort of Labour/Lib Dem/Greens coalition. In which case the Tories would be fucked as without screaming about Independence/Referendums and telling the SNP to stop talking about Independence/Referendums their own support would plummet as they have nothing to offer anyone else but the staunchest of staunch.
-
They have as much legal right now as they did before. Westminster only gave it the go ahead last time as they didn't believe it would be close and it would embarrass the SNP. What you're talking about is democracy being granted dependant of the level of spite of whoever in charge of westminster. That to me is not democratic.
-
Nobody is debating that the UK parliament has to give the go ahead, but is it democracy for the UK parliament to refuse another one if the Scottish parliament votes for it. Potentially more than once? The Edinburgh agreement did nothing to state that no further referendums could be held in the long or short term afterwards so it would appear to entirely be on the whims of the Westminster government. Is that democratic?
-
Not sure if this is what you're saying but are you saying someone other than the Scottish parliament should get to decide when it's appropriate to have a referendum even when it has a majority of support there. Thats's really how you think it should work?

Only noticed this. Cringe.
