I'll never understand the ability of money men to convince football fans the good times will go on and on, or the stupidity of the fans that actually believe them.
EK may well exist without financial doping but certainly not at the level you're aspiring to.
Im not silly enough to think that the money will last for ever. But the guys imvesting in club are there for the long haul. They are trying desperatley to get through the leagues. In the hope it will raise the profile and get fans turning up in numbers to make the club sustainable.

This is bang on. The begging bowl out for a player under contract with a serious injury was shocking. Especially with the money being flung at other players. Didn’t sit well with me at all.

Some clubs will have more than others, usually through a larger fan base. It’s far too easy for anyone with a few quid to buy success at this level in Scotland and it makes a mockery of any kind of integrity.

Folk are so wrapped up in the mick kennedy show that all other facts go out the window. The bottom line is, the guys that own east kilbride could buy and sell mick kennedy for fun. The club are in no way reliant on any funding from mick. He could go in the morning and someone else would be in his place.This league(and most leagues) for that matter, have teams who are cash rich. And what???? Get over it. I’d bet if any of your clubs came into money yous would be loving it. The main problem people seem to have here is michael kennedy. For whatever reason that may be.
Im still to be fully convinced on him myself. But one thing i am sure of is ek will be there long after he is gone for better or worse.2 -

It seems a bit silly from the outside. And i would agree with you that it is. But owners are so desperate for promotion to league that they are flinging everything at it.
The worry is the turn over of players. Bringing in as many quality players as they have is always going to be a problem. When you have good players that are used to playing but are now sitting on bench you are going to get unrest.
Whole things screams a bit of desperation. Which is strange for a team in the strong position that they are in.
Give me a small squad filled with team spirit and quality all day long.Easier said than done though.
Also agree on your take on play off. If they dont get a settled first 11 i think they will struggle. ( if they get there)

He has also spoke out plenty of times about the fact the b teams shouldn’t be in the league. He was never going to get the owners on board to change there views on it though. But mick cant be blamed for that.
Him failing at the play offs might just be in the best intrests for yoursels so of course you would love it.

That being said, I don’t hate EK at all, said it a while back, just want you boys out of this league, the business model is doing the LL no good at all, though I suppose there is the likelihood that another team will try similar once you have gone.

It has been quiet. So thank you for breathing some fresh life into it. For half an hour at least.
We will have to agree to disagree on the fact ek are where they are on merit. The level of spending makes no difference to it. East kilbride have always spent big, but have never reached there goal of being promoted. Spending big comes with no guarantees of success. As i’ve watched at close quarters over the last few years.
plenty of teams punching above there weight with far smaller budgets. Thats what football is all about. And its great to see. And ive supported and backed this league and teams in it from the very start. Long may it continue.
The worry yourself may have over the next few years is going the other way as some of the bigger teams filter through.

Also, zero arrogance here. My tounge was firmly in my cheek on last post. Was simply having a wee bite back at your boring fellow supporter who has a hardon for everything mick and ek related.
ek are at the level they are on merit. Wealty backers? Yes. And what? Happens all over football. Im sure you wouldn’t complain to much if they ended up at your club.
Now the question is, how did your club find its way to this level???Only arrogance that has been shown has been from yourself, hating on a team for having money, and crowdwanking into the bargain when you’re pulling worse numbers yourself.

He is dead against it. Has never shyed away from being vocal about that. Whether he can change the mind of the guys running club is a different story though. Hopefully he can bring them round to his way of thinking. Doubt it though.
