I’m just being honest and I don’t want you to build up your hopes as you seem a decent guy but please look at the facts. You have sheep running lions. It won’t work so please mark my words. The lowland league is a grave site for once good football clubs like Berwick, east Stirling, Albion rovers, Gretna, Cowdenbeath. It can’t be argued some of E/K minor achievements but winning this league beating the winners of the highland league and then beating the team that finishes bottom of league 2 to gain access to the leagues is just a pipe dream.E/K is just a pay cheque for that assembled journey men with a management team without a proven track record.I rest my case and it will all come out in the wash.

Thanks for the concern. Im sure i, and ekfc will be fine though.

Why would E/K bring si ferry to the club is for his vast football knowledge or is it because he does podcasts and has money. He’s not at the club for football reasons and why bring a manager who doesn’t have a proven track record but johnmc80 you are a happy clapper and you are clearly that stupid you can’t see it for what it is.Mark my words you are going down quicker than a Thai hooker.

How's that worked out for EK over the last decade.

Many play off wins and promotions?

Its worked pretty well tbf. League wins. Plenty of cup wins. Trophy room full.

Invincible season. Eddie van der sar sending beers down to k park.

Numerous scottish cup runs. Including against celtic in front of 7000.

Lots of good teams and fans coming to visit over the years. Some great players graced the hallow 4g k turf.

We all want to see our team progressing as well as they can. But sometimes you are just at your level. And this has been our level. Couple of near misses. But this is a good league. Have always enjoyed watching it right from the start of it. If thats where we stay then so be it.

So, yeah. Its worked out fine. But also, still work in progress.

East Kilbride will be a laughing stock by Christmas.Spending all that money on players if any good would be playing in the championship or L1.

They will finish below mid table😂

the management is a joke and the strategy is flawed.

Ah well. No point in playing then is there. Jimmy ‘the oracle’ shoe has spoken. The baw is burst. Ffs!

If Si Ferry’s company were paying the bills last season at Broomhill, and if it turns out they have not paid them all, then I don’t see why he should be allowed to work for and fund another club until it’s satisfactorily resolved.

it seems logical to me, and I’m not having a go just because it’s Ferry, would be the same principe for anyone.

Si ferry is in no way funding ek. Lets get that straight. He is employed as a coach.
Guys running ek could buy and sell open goal for fun.

Pity you didn't have such passion when you went missing on here the last 6 months.

EKFC motto is from Robert the Bruce, try try and try again.

Best thing that could ever happen to the LL is getting rid of the likes of EKFC and that Broomhill outfit.

Either up or more likely down.

Again, pathetic attempt at trolling from possil ym’s waterboy. Who is attached to nobody, but likes to stick his nib into all.
And i try not to let my passion/anger spill out onto a football forum that im very rarely on. Unlike yourself. Who is never off it. Polluting thread after thread. Mainly with negative trolling. Trying to get bites off p***ks like me. So well done you.😁

I can’t remember any SPFL team and their fans coming down thinking they would do well and come back straight away.  It’s another nonsensical generalisation along with the teams that go up are always ambitious whilst those coming down have been SPFL dead wood for years.  Just lazy stereotyping

I agree with you with the exception of east stirlingshire. There fans were sure they were going back up in first season. And they were more than happy to tell us all on here at the time. Was all good fun though.

EKFC not to be confused with East Kilbride Thistle have a few fans other than the obvious family and friends from the 25 boys/girls clubs they run at £40 a month. I know a few of the so called fans. Booze bags out the local bowling club. Is EK their first loyalty, lol, even a couple of them i remember from Shawfield days. They certainly wouldn't dream of going to an away game.

You been in the bowling club with the kid on guys that you speak of this morning by any chance?
What a load of pish you spout.

A question for EK fans - & it's asked out of genuine footballing interest, rather than trying to be a sh*t stirrer, so please take it in that vein - what's the fans' view of this close to 100% change of playing personnel?

We're all used as football fans to seeing comings & goings at our clubs, & of course it's not unusual to see some fairly significant change when a new manager comes in to any club, but as fans we generally feel a connection with a club, with a big part of that being through the players. But with EK here, if pretty much all the previous players have gone - just one left? - then it would seem that a large part of that connection has also gone.

Even when a manager is sacked after a poor time for a club, there's usually a number of key players - club legends, long serving stalwarts, promising youngsters etc - that stay on & offer a link to the new regime, but it seems there's nothing of that nature with this transition at EK. Can't recall having see such a wholesale change previously at any club, so genuinely interested in the longstanding EK fans' views on the situation. Thanks!

East kilbride are still a very new club. Probably still trying to find an identity if truth be told.

They have always had a high turnover of players each year. I dont think thats majorly uncommon at this level. Although i agree, this year is a full squad. But it was probably needed. Weren’t good enough last season. The owners are hell bent on getting promotion. So they will do whatever they feel is needed.

For me though, the best football and most enjoyable times at the club was when we had a core of players who were all local east kilbride boys. Main core of the squad stayed together for a few years. And there was a bond. They all looked like they were enjoying there football. So i would take that over constant turnover all day long.

Try telling the owners that though.

I know bringing in the big name older players wasn't working last few years in terms of winning the league but surely going this "lets go down the darvel money route" strategy isn't going to do you any favours after a couple of years when everyone is annoyed about you like they are with kelty and cove, changed far too much on the back of your play off disappointment from an outsider perspective just look at the difference between how bonnyrigg is viewed over kelty in recent years, If I'm a bonnyrigg fan yes I'm in a lower league but I'd be much more happy at where my club is terms of community and relationships with other clubs.

East kilbride went done the darvel money route 10 years before darvel had any money spend.
its nothing new for us to be flinging money at it.
They have tried various methods. Big name older players, younger local boys, a mixture of both.
Been close on a few occasions but not quite good enough.

Money is being spent this year again for another push. Im not sure the owners or anyone at the club will be overly concerned about annoying you or your club. Or any other clubs for that matter.
On that note, i’ve never felt the need to feel annoyed at kelty or cove or the likes for having money to spend.  Good on them. They have spent it well and have steady foundations there for the future.

Not too sure how Lowland contracts work, would it be a standard thing for everyone's deals to run out at the end of the season or have a few of these players essentially been paid off if they were contracted for next season?

They're pretty much building a brand new club this summer, but that project could immediately become a clusterfuck if Badcock is one of the early arrivals...

Most players at this level are signed on 1 year deals.
There is always a big turn over of players each year.

  13. The clear out was always going to happen when mick was appointed. Alot of good players released. And a few guys who have gave there best years to the club. But bottom line is they weren’t good enough last season. So there cant be to many complaints. If you want to build a team capable of progressing, you need to be ruthless.

i just hope he dosen’t go to top heavy with broomhill and darvel players who also fell short with there teams.

oh, and david badboaby can gtf!
