When City played at Ainslie Park I saw some Albion Rovers fans heading to The Anchor in Granton Road.

Probably the height of salubriousness compared to some pubs in Coatbridge....

Passed that pub many times and have always thought it looks like an intresting establishment. Not intresting enough for me to go in right enough.

First off… no hammer was used, do you always believe the daily ranger ffs.

    2. No fighting in the ground at all.

    3. The locals attacked a female supporter which started the fight outside.

    4. The local possil boys had turned up with weapons which is not hard to believe.

now…what are you to do in this situation? Run? Nah you defend yourself always.

and so what if its possilpark? Means nothing to anyone who doesn’t live there, granted it might be a rough area but big deal 😂 just because they are from glasgow does not mean they are to be feared.

3 times in glasgow…st rochs, rutherglen, possilpark they have come to blows with home fans being aggressive yet the club continues to fail to offer any protection for its supporters in these areas, so the outcome is violence inevitably.

and , after banning they young lads kilbirnie will suffer even more, was not long ago they raised around £5000 for the club but are thrown under the bus for defending themselves in a hostile area.

they will still watch from outside on the hill where the club has no control, not even the police can move them if they aren’t doing anything.

Thinly veiled threats of closing the gates for good are just that…threats, the committee do not own kilbirnie ladeside therefore they have no power to shut the club down!

Why has no AGM been had for 8 years? Because gordon ronney and the committee know if they hold one …they are goners.

The statement is about the committees reputation not that of the fans or the club, as they say dont bite the hand that feeds you..and in this case kilbirnie will lose not only the supporters banned but others who are disillusioned by the committee and its finger pointing at every turn to blame it’s own fans wether in the right or wrong.

    cowards!

I have saw some moronic posts on pie and bovril over the years. But this has to be right up there with the worst of them.
Can see you shadow boxing about your living room in-between paragraphs.
“Run, or stand and defend ourself”?

    Deary me. A grown man.

That opens up another can of worms. Owned by a former chairman called Alan Mackin (played for Motherwell and Falkirk) who obtained the deeds under dubious circumstances after running the club into the ground and has not subsequently been able to sell or develop the land because the council have blocked any change in zoning.

Think he has tried to persuade the Shire to work with him on a possible return in fairly recent times but has been told to GTF in no uncertain terms every time he has made an appearance at a Shire game. Hopefully Shire fans do make an appearance soon but no posts for three weeks maybe tells its own story unfortunately.

Craigiemack will be along any time now in about 3 to 4 weeks.

  4. Went through saracen street on saturday afternoon before the game. There was a load of kilbirnie fans at the cross going between balmore bar and saracen bar. Including the drummer boys who were making sure they made themselfs noticed. First thing i thought is theres no way the day was passing without incident.

East Kilbride continues to grow (at least 4 builders with huge estates going up linking Lindsayfield to Jackton) so the case for a multi-purpose community hub becomes stronger.

The changing of the council majority was a blow given all the time it took to 'persuade' the previous councilors to fully support the stadium idea.

    What exactly is the ambition?

Broomhill and Cowdenbeath would have started the season with the exact same ambition of getting promoted to the SPFL.

Ambition is striving to do things better. Wether thats on the pitch. Performaning better. Getting better results. Or how they work to get fans in. Simply trying to be the best they can be in all aspects is showing ambition.

And having a dodgy individual to bankroll helps too.
Craigiemack chokes for sketchy individuals to take an intrest in the shire.

It is true I don’t, but I explained a few posts up thread why anyone looking at it objectively would seem the likelihood of 1500 people all of a sudden wanting to pay to go to a Broomhill game on a Friday night, against Brora, is quite low.

If the club confirmed , that apart from the usual small amount of complementaries that you would always get, that the full crowd paid, I’d be happy to say I got it wrong.

As I said, I have no axe to grind with Broomhill or anyone, and being honest until May 2022 I paid very little attention to Scottish football below League 2, which was my loss as the ‘non-leagues’ in their different forms up here are incredibly interesting.

As for Cowdenbeath, well, that’s a whole different thread entirely and as I am sure you have dipped into the general Cowden thread, you know the problems the club is facing.

Broomhill as a club dont need to confirm this though.
I’ve yet to see any club come out and have to confirm something like that so i dont see why they would have to.

As for your own club. I wasn’t directing that last post straight at cowdenbeath. Was just meaning in general. I have been in the thread and its a shit situation. Unlike some folk on here, i dont enjoy watching any team suffering. Hopefully yours can turn the corner, get something sorted with the home ground and start to thrive again.
Its just such a scottish thing to try and tear clubs down instead of maybe looking at the positives sometimes.

Personally I have no seethe or particular ill will towards them. I’ve never listened to their podcast and I wouldn’t recognise Si Ferry if he nutmegged me in the street.

If they have pulled a crowd of 1500 paying punters through the clever use of social media and their obvious clout with that, fair play to them.

If they have pulled a crowd of 1500 of which only a small fraction paid to get in, they should be up front about that as well, if they were honest about that I would still acknowledge that getting 1500 punters in the stadium on a Friday night is a good effort, freebies or not.

You have absoloutly no evidence either way to suggest that they never pulled in them numbers as paying customers.

But it suits your narrative to downplay them straight away.
Which in turn makes it look like (regardless of you not being able to recognise si ferry if he pegged you in the street) that you have a bit of an axe to grind with the club.

Or maybe its a bit of the green eyed monster coming out, that a no mark boys club, has the audacity to try to show a bit of ambition, while you watch your own club stuck in reverse?

So we are expected to believe they gave away 500 tickets and paid for them out of their own pocket?

The seethe towards broomhill is something else. Can’t bring thereselfs to say fair play for pulling in that kind of crowd. Just cause they are a ‘boysclub’.

But if a so called established club, with a proud history (but are a bit shit now) had used media outlets or whatever other methods available to drum up a support like that, we would all be on here applauding them for there efforts.

Not sure if I'm if this is what's called the Mandela Effect but I'm sure someone on this thread or somewhere in the LL forum pre Covid posted the plans for a new EKFC stadium.

Now it's gone to either complete silence or nah the K Park is a grand wee stadium.

Plans are all still there and planning permision was in place. The pandemic defo had a big part to play in the stalling of things moving forward. As can only be expected. The stadium will happen. It may not be viable as a stand alone football stadium as someone earlier pointed out. I agree. But there were plans for a multi-purpose comunity hub, with a wide range of sports and activities available to the locals.

the grand wee ground thats there just now is more than ample non the less.

Genuine question. What's the script with your planned new stadium? Is it a goer, or post-Covid has it become very much back burner, 'wait till we're in the SPL at least' stuff?

The stadium they have just now jim is pefectly adequate for the level they are at. Im sure you would agree? That being said, i wouldn’t put it past the keanes to still push ahead with building the new stadium. I’ve no idea of the timescale though.

What are you drinking?  As has a happened so many times, we struggled against Uni teams. We are our own worst enemies in these games. So flat first half , down 1 -0 , then got ahead 2-1 and then totally switched off.

Absolutely we are the big boys attitude needs to be killed.  By the way not anyone else to blame but the players

Been a tough week for you pal, with your big team geting pumped all over the place and your wee team hitting a few bumps in the road. My thoughts are with you at this hard time.
