  1. I'm sure trains don't run on boxing day, didn't last year anyway -found out the hard way trying to go to Edinburgh. Looking into it, apparently limited services so could still be on for it
  2. it's always dodgy since there's no trains as well - seems to be popular for people to work it as well though
  3. Getting a bit more excited about the lad now, really hope the game is on for Saturday
  4. He likes a shot from outside the box as well, 30 yard thunderfuck on Saturday it is
  5. Not sure St Mirren is a move sideways, they're looking pretty likely to go up. Gives them a chance to settle at a club and go up with a squad they know. Depends on their preference, some might prefer to stay up here
  6. When we pay £600 max it's clear we won't be keeping any stars. Would you stay at your job if you knew you could double your wages doing the same thing across the road? Even if your co-workers loved you you'd be daft not to. Truth is, the players want to be playing in front of a decent crowd, not 1k each week. They want bigger wages, and naturally want to progress. We're a stepping stone and have been for years now, I don't see how this is a surprise to some. They've got a chance to go to a better level, this for example could be Mullen's chance to break into the Premiership and do well there. We can't realistically afford to compete as when there's interest, we sell. Without a bigger fan base this will just be the Livi way for now.
  7. Think this is a pivotal point in the season, we could get stronger if we sign Halkett and Mullin up with Pittman and Byrne. But if Halkett signs a pre contract in January and others leave it'll destroy the work Hopkin's been doing for two-three seasons now. Back to square one, hopefully the board are smart enough to tie players like that up to at least demand a fee, Halkett alone would be a huge fee for us surely
  8. That's true but what happens if we end up finishing 7th and we're 100-200k down due to keeping Mullen (with no compo package as well). Especially when he wanted a move and didn't want to be here, why keep an unhappy player
  9. Only guess is that he refused to play before Glenafton? Demanded a move then and said he wasn't playing - but who knows? He's been a brilliant player for us and we got a good deal, no point reading too far into it
  10. The club cant afford to take gambles though, look at where that got us before. I'd rather we played it smart and safe than gamble on a top 4 finish when we're overachieving as it is
  11. I'm starting to feel like his mysterious injury before the Glenafton game was just shite, probably told them he wanted out in January and Hoppy has shouldered him out the team
  12. 23 in the summer so apparently no fee would have been needed
  13. Could've been St Mirren wanting him in earlier, if they asked for it I doubt we'd have said no
  14. Carrick is fairly useless, I've said it for a while now but if our replacement for Mullen is Carrick then we can kiss goodbye to our progress this season. He runs about, but doesn't have half the ball control and composure Mullen does
  15. Think he really just wanted away, got a mystery injury before the Glenafton game and didn't play since
  16. Any ideas on a replacement? Should probably be looking to some goal scorers in League 1, or even look into how Jack Hamilton is developing
  17. Good deal for both clubs, 5 figure fee and a sell on clause does us fine. Great player going to Saints and will do well, not an out an out goalscorer but will run at defenders and win free kicks/penalties even if he's diving Was out of contract in the summer so to get a fee now is good business for a player who doesn't want to be here
  18. Danny Mullen away to St Mirren on an emergency loan then Permanent move in January it seems
  19. Yeah, sorted it. Cheers though Here's hoping it's a good game anyway!
  20. Anyone know if there's a bus running for Tuesday? Fancy getting through for it but don't drive
  21. I don't even doubt he's got one of or even, the best deliveries in the country. You can see the difference in him since he joined, an absolute rock for us right now and rarely has a bad game. Hopefully we sign him up on a long(er) term deal because clubs will start to look at him. If we keep him we can aspire to get others like him in and push on. We've shown this season what we can do and that's with a fair few players injured at times
  22. Jacobs should surely, easily be able to fill the hole left by Penrice though I'm sure it was a broken metatarsal for Brown, he's meant to be a really good player so I wouldn't dive in on releasing a player that's not had a chance
  23. Knox has the makings of a really good player and isn't highly rated for no reason, Brown has been injured all season so I don't see how anyone can comment
