  1. Weather was decent in Broxburn. Could have done with the game being abandoned though . Tranent full value for their win.
  2. I would hope not but the performance in the first half wasn’t even as good as “pathetic”. Second half much better but can’t give any team in this league two goals of a start. Winning and Losing is a mentality issue at this level and Brox need to change it around quickly.
  3. Can’t disagree with much of that. The disallowed goal was a shocker by the Linesman (almost a carbon copy of Dunbars 2nd). Dreadful first half by Brox cost them the game and will need to improve rapidly if they don’t want to be in a relegation scrap this year (especially if 5 go down).
  4. They did protest a fair bit but they were never going to change the decision. In fairness, after Cuikie went 2-1 up there was only one winner.
  5. Despite the scoreline not much between Broxburn and Penicuik today. Two very late goals put the shine on it for Cuikie. First half not much in it, a good save from a free kick by the Penicuik keeper and a goal bound shot headed over were Broxburn’s best effort’s and a smart breakaway goal had Cuikie leading 1-0 and halftime. Second half Broxburn probably the better side early on missed a couple of really good chances and scored a freak goal (sure it was meant as a cross) to level. Penicuik then scored against the run of play with about 15-20 to play. They cruised it from there and added two late goals to seal an excellent opening day win.
  6. Not so sure we don’t look as soft as last year. I thought yesterday was more of a surprise for the Broxburn team. Having beaten the Shire I got the impression they thought they just needed to turn up. I think it came as a bit of a shock how good Stirling were (apart from their finishing). Good wake up call or a sign of things to come we shall see over the next few months
  7. Can’t disagree. Very poor from Broxburn but fair play to the Uni who were excellent apart for taking their chances. Big improvement required for next week.
  8. IMO the title this year will be between Linlithgow, Tranent and Jeanfield. Plenty others could mount a challenge but sooner or later Lithgae will get it right and the other two were the best last season (or what was played of it). If I was to pick one I’d go for Tranent. Going down will be 4 from Inverkeithing, Blackburn, Dunbar, Sauchie and Whitehill. Think LTHV and Tynecastle may also struggle this year and be in the mix for relegation after they had decent seasons last year. Camelon appear to have a lot of changes if the Transfers in/out is correct so their season could go either way.
  9. Broxburn 2 East Stirlingshire 1. Very competitive game so good for both teams. Shire looked better team until the No. 10 went off injured. Broxburn shaded the second half.
  10. Only been to one pre season game so far at Broxburn (v Easthouse Lily). Temperature taken, name and phone number for track and trace plus face mask to be worn at all times.
  11. Broxburn 3 Easthouse Lily 1. Really good to get back to see live football. Half decent game tbf considering the long lay off. Some decent quality in patches from both sides and good goals. Sure both teams and managers will be relatively pleased.
  12. Some tasty ties and think these will increase as the rounds go on. Excited for the new season to start. Hopefully there will be little disruption to it or at least it is manageable

  14. John Grant returning to Broxburn looks a good signing. Was sorely missed last season.
  15. What are the chances of the Lithgae v Broxburn game going ahead? Is there snow on the pitch? I know the forecast is for overnight frost today and tomorrow.
  16. Not been able to field a settled back line due to injuries, work commitments and illness. Last couple of seasons they could pick 4 from 5 regular starters. This year lucky if they could pick 2 each week. This is the affecting confidence when they lose a goal.
  17. Another bad day at office for Broxburn. Reduced to 10 men just before half-time didn’t help against a very good side. The loss of 4/5 quality players before the start of the season has been compounded with the loss of 4/5 other first team regulars. The players coming I have shown flashes of quality but they need to be more consistent if Broxburn are to mount a title challenge (which is looking more and more unlikely).
  18. I agree even last year Broxburn were well beaten at Sauchie last year when they were bottom. In this league to do well you need all your best players playing and near the top of their game (I know not rocket science). Otherwise if the other team is up for it you will get found out.
  19. Played them last year in the Scottish and they were a good outfit then. Ran away with their Division last year and can see why. After the first 15 minutes (Broxburn were the better team up until then) they fully deserved their victory no question.Think them and LTHV will be nearer the top half of the league than the bottom half. The only positive from last night was Cuikie drawing with Tranent but the Brox need to get there injured / missing players back soon otherwise the league may be out of their grasp by Christmas.
  20. Disappointing night for Broxburn but fair play to Tynecastle who were excellent and could have had a couple more. Onto Perth on Saturday for another tough one against Jeanfield.
  21. Good draw for the Brox in the big cup . Wonder if fans will be allowed in?
  22. After a poor start to the season Broxburn beginning to find some form under new management. Hard won victory on derby day especially playing win 10 for close on 80 minutes. Bummer not getting to the games but the stream provided is really good. Good luck for the rest of the season. Mon the Brox
  23. Broxburn bouncing back with two good wins and two clean sheets.
