  1. I agree with you on the Saudi stuff. Theyve spent the last few years trying to sportswash their shite with the F1, buying Newcastle, big WWE shows, etc. Spunking money on international footballers is just another part of that. However... £30k a week over a 2 or 3 year contract is never work again money. This is probably Boyle's only ever chance to make that kind of money for his family. I'm not sure I'd accept going over, but it would certainly be enough to tempt me even if it goes against my beliefs.
  2. You could say water is wet and it would still lose credibility if your source was Rangers news.
  3. I imagine Leeds are in for Maxwell the way Real Madrid were in for Steven Fletcher back in the day. They may have had a scout up looking at him, but Id be fucking flabbergasted if they made a move for him.
  4. Is Crawford left or right footed? Could be that McCall sees him cutting in from the left with a new attacking left back (Maxwell) providing the width on that side.
  5. Shame about Rudden and Akinola. We're still in with a shout of promotion so Id rather we didnt cash in this month. As for Crawford, Im all for the club signing good players regardless if we already have good players in that position (which he should be at this level). Just as long as we arent spunking our budget when other positions need strengthening. Wouldnt be surprised to see Shea Gordon finally leave this month, even if its just on loan.
  6. If Thistle dont win the league I really want this Arbroath side to do it. Not only a good side, but Dick Campbell would be box office in the top flight. Having to listen to every pundit bitch and moan about the wind at Gayfield is a significant downer on the thought though.
  7. Willie Miller is fucking murder. Get him into retirement. Only thing he has talked about in the Arbroath-Inverness game is the wind and poor conditions. Literally nothing else. Imagine being surprised its windy at Gayfield in January.
  8. We'd all look rough as f**k if our job was to try turn Robbie Muirhead into a functioning footballer.
  9. He got booked. Why would it be a sending off? Love a GIRFUY celebration.
  10. McManaman and Keown are fucking morons though. Theyve just spent 5 mins arguing about how the ref always changes his mind when asked to view the replay. Despite the threshold of sending the ref to watch the replay is that it is, in the opinion of the VAR, a clear and obvious error, so naturally its going to change the decision in majority of cases.
  11. And the VAR obviosuly felt it met that threshold. Why is that so hard for you to comprehend, even if you disagree with it?
  12. Or two highly qualified referees have a better understanding of the rules relating to shirt pulling than (mainly hungover) people on an internet forum.
  13. Not a clear error *in your opinion* The VAR obviously thought it was a clear error.
  14. But the VAR obviously thought it was a clear penalty. And the onfield ref clearly agreed when he saw the replay. Agree or disagree about the decision itself, but VAR worked perfectly there.
  15. Nah, watching Arsenal implode is always great banter. Fiver on Xhaka not seeing out the match if City score in the next 10 mins.
  16. Pulling the shirt is a foul though. It wasnt like it was a shoulder to shoulder or a slight nudge. He pulled his shirt, so its a foul. I agree its soft and Silva probably doesnt get anything if he doesnt dive. But its a clear foul imo.
  17. Yes he dived, but Xhaka is clearly pulling his shirt in the box as Silva runs past him. Im confused why anyone doesnt think thats a foul and therefore a penalty.
  18. Not sure why Arsenal are complaining so much. Xhaka clearly pulling Silva's shirt. Its still a foul even if Silva stays on his feet so the fact he does dive to the floor is irrelevant.
  19. You sure about that? First Ive ever heard about 3D imaging and use of Hawk Eye. Is it not just a replay with the screen paused on the frame they think the balls been played?
  20. Just seen the replay for the Palace penalty. f**k me, that cant be enough for a penalty. Hughes clearly dived at the merest hint of a touch and throws himself to the floor. Pundits giving their usual "there is contact so he has a right to go down". f**k OFF!!! It is still a dive even if there is a slight touch. Call it out you utter shitebags.
  21. Which will officially be won by Nir Bitton's goal yesterday or some other semi decent Old Firm goal.
  22. Fair enough. Wild man. That Houston team with Vauks, Leahy and co are one of my favourite non-Thistle teams and that wasnt all that long ago! Mental to think how quickly its all gone to shit.
  23. At what point do we start talking about this Falkirk team as one of the worst full time teams in recent memory? Not seen them since last season but sounds like a weekly shambles.
  24. Also irrelevant in the context of Scottish football because you could just replace it with "played with the Old Firm". A few years at Rangers a decade ago aside, Naismith has more relegations than trophies so is he really a proven "winner"? Not saying he is going to be a good manager or not. No one knows. Ive even voted for him as he is the most interesting on that list. But what he has won in his career is irrelevant.
  25. Yes, there is a debate. In the same way there is a debate about whether putting your dick in a blender in a good idea.
