  1. I'm not getting carried away, Jimmys team were/are the best Rovers team in my lifetime and I'm not making comparisons. This group has something about it though and I've not seen for a long time. I've sat through some pish over the years and I genuinely enjoy the football we're playing at the moment, plus the fact they seem to have a great togetherness. Regan Hendry pulling the strings should be nowhere near the Rovers, fantastic player. We have a good standard of youth players coming through with the old heads guiding them, John Mcglynn deserves great credit for putting the team together.
  2. For me this is the best team we've had since Jimmy Nics in the 90s. The team also seem to be responding to the young teams support and lapping it up. Its the best atmosphere we've had consistently since then as well. Hope we keep it up [emoji106]
  3. I've not seen Lewis Mansell play, but he might be more of a hold up player than a finisher, personally I think thats something we've been missing. John Baird is pretty much being tasked to hold up play and be a finisher, not easy at any stage of your career let alone his, this signing if true might benefit Bairdy the most.
  4. A wee bit harsh, he burst a gut and stretched out to make contact with the ball at the back post, hardly Iwelumo levels of open goals.
  5. Heard Joel Coustrain on trail at East Fife, good luck to him.
  6. How good is Regan at running down the clock? and winding folk up in the process. [emoji23][emoji870]
  7. Like being 0-2 up and drawing 2-2 kind of minter?
  8. Serious question, do you think that there is link between dropping the youth set up with where you find yourselves now? From the outside I always thought Falkirk had a great football model of bringing your own players through and selling them on, couldn't believe that plan was dropped. I obviously don't know the ins and outs of it all, but I just remember thinking it was the wrong move at the time. Sorry if this has been brought up before!
  9. I'll go for shree a piece, wi guid onest boys pitting a right guid shift in. Crowd, shree thousand shree hunner and shree.
  10. I remember when we were both going for the old 1st division back in the 90s, this fixture would bring in over 5k easy. Good games as well.
  11. The club should bring out a retro version of the Mercat Spall kit, that was my first Rovers top.
  12. Cos we're still pishing ourselves laughing pumping them out the cup last season.
  13. Funnily enough there is, I can't remember who it was but they built a massive pillar in the middle of the changing room so the opposition couldn't see or hear each other.
  14. I've just read an article where John McGinn said he hated playing at Starks Park. I remember years ago Paul Gascoigne saying he loved playing in Kdy and loved the atmosphere, is Starks Park like marmite to players? Is Gazzas memory rose tinted as they pumped us a couple of times and McGinn has shivers down his spine as a result of tougher games? Who knows [emoji23]
  15. Well this could be sweet payback for the goal that never was that effectively relegated us. I'm still bitter as feck about it. [emoji23]
  16. Congratulations to Arbroath, I might be in the minority but I will miss the pantomime villain Dick Campbell, always great entertainment and can wind up some precious souls in our support. Enjoy [emoji482]
  17. I remember a 17 year old Brian Potter doing ok when he came on once.
  18. If you play high balls or make him run into the channels it makes him look terrible, find his feet he can make things happen and bring others into the game.
