  1. What’s the craic with Shaun Byrne mate? See he’s not featured much but aware he might have had an injury etc?
  2. Glad I’m not the only one who thought the invasion was nippy. I might be sentimental but I just thought of all the potential class team photo opportunities in front of the North West that didn’t happen. They actually brought a Cinch Winners board over in front of that area so that the players could get photos with SNW in the background. Sod it, I’m sure when we won in 2010/11 and 2015/16 if there had been pitch invasions after getting the title I’d have done it then, certainly did it at Greenock
  3. Might be an old man here (31) but anyone else think the pitch invasion was annoying as f**k? I’d sooner have had the players and their families do another proper lap of honour. Just felt what should have been a good moment was lost.
  4. Aye I thought that too, expected him to get the call when it came to number 15 and they were also announcing his new two year deal at the same time . He came out when the introduced all the members of the back room staff.
  5. How hot is that fucking graphic btw? Sad to see that the finance option has gone, I hope that doesn’t put people off as it’s a big chunk of cash in one go, especially for a full price adult and the absolute bollocks state of the world, cost of living etc. I personally used that option last season but had been putting away each month for next season but I’m sure others would have been planning to use it again. Suppose the club have said they’re looking at an alternative supplier.
  6. Sam Fisher was in a Pars tracky and got a medal today. For me that’s a big indication he’ll be with us next season, I mean the medal is a nice touch but wearing the tracksuit tells something else.
  7. I totally forgot about 2016. The day we won the league that season was pretty special as it was unexpected. We all thought Peterhead would beat nearly relegated Cowdenbeath so when Cowden got the win we'd won. Great day, El Baktaoui hatrick. Town was bouncing that night. The day we won it at Cappielow in 2011 was incredible. Huge buzz and build up, roasting hot, massive away support and just a great day with mates. I would have been 20/21 and it's up there as one of my best as a Pars fan. Mate of mines knocking the door at 8am with a bag full of Buckfast and beers before a quick walk through the public park to get our minibus from East End. Norsman bar all day, win, on the pitch and a huge party in the toon that night, I think I was in most pubs and about 3 different house parties. Stumbled home about 5pm on the Sunday, oh the glory days without responsibility Funny though, I don't really recall the trophy day on both occasions. I remember being there and the title presentation but not the night after etc.
  8. Aye it was my first ever game, the day we got the trophy in 1996 I would have been almost 4 and a half. All I remember is being momentarily lost when we went through the turnstiles into what is now the Norrie, the helicopter bringing the trophy flying above the stadium and getting a McDonald's on our way back into town, before getting patched off at the Grandparents so our parents could go out on the lash and join the celebrations.
  9. Looking forward to it but it's not the same as the day you win the league. Must be some craic if you end up winning the league on the last day of the season so have the euphoria of winning the title and getting the trophy all at the same time. Was some buzz in the City a fortnight ago when we won it, and tomorrow will be party mode but I don't think as big.
  10. I haven't felt this Invernessian since 30 May 2015. All the best tomorrow Inverness Caley Thistle!
  11. Didn't realise your connection to Amarillo went back so long. Absolutely love the song, mainly due to Peter Kay, unfortunately tinged with sadness now
  12. Think it's odd that we've appealed O'Hara's red. Two meaningless games left, he's out of contract and if I was a betting man I personally don't think he'll be getting a new one but who knows. As mentioned above, we must have some concrete evidence that the officials got it wrong because if not it's a huge waste of time and potentially money.
  13. He's a handful but only now starting to show the finished article, although still a lot to learn I'm sure. Came through the youth and was a pretty natural striker. He's been introduced by Stevie Crawford to the first team and looked promising as a sort of wide forward playing off Kevin Nisbet. Then in the closed season he absolutely smashed the gym, came back huge and it's really helped him. He's pretty good with his head, can be a bit gung-ho and should probably have scored more this season had he a bit more composure but he's getting there, also had a few injuries to deal with this season which kept him out a couple of months at a time. The last few weeks have seen him play wide and his link up with Wighton and Matty Todd (who also came through youth with him but wasn't in the squad yesterday) has been really impressive. He's the younger brother of Ali McCann who was at St.Johnstone for their cup winning double before joining Preson North End (I think) so there's talent in the family. He qualifies for Northern Ireland too due to one of his parents so he's featured for the 21's etc which is a bonus and gives him more experience. Big Yogi came in and played him as the main 9 ahead of guys like Todorov and shipped Wighton out on loan to Arbroath which was surprising but he did grab a few goals under his reign last season. I think a good pre-season and we'll see him a regular in the starting 11 next season. All the best to you guys in the playoffs, couple of good ex Pars boys with you so I'd like to see you come up, even if just for them. Fordyce & McCabe were part of one of my favourite recent Pars seasons, the last time we won L1 in 2015/2016. And also I'd really enjoy if Falkirk didn't make it because well it's just funny isn't it
  14. They’ve done more against us than your bunch of shite the beds have. I’ve seen all Pars Vs Falkirk/Airdrie games this season and Airdrie have been better than Falkirk consistently. Will be lovely to see them sign you up for another season of L1 jobbies x
  15. Aye definitely play Mackie at centre half, he got out jumped by King Richie-Hosler who must be 5ft7.
  16. If I was a betting man I’d say home win given the jobs done and how blootered some of the players were up the toon on Saturday night. However, I genuinely think he’ll want to keep it to one defeat if we possibly can. Airdrie the only one I’m concerned about, I think we’ll beat Clyde next weekend on trophy day, I imagine they’ll have done enough to secure 9th place by then so they’ll maybe not be flying in the same way they will in their playoff game, just like Alloa the following week, I’m sure they’ll have one eye on their promotion playoff. Would take a draw the now but similar to Weegie Par, if we lost I’m not overly bothered as the job is done.
  17. Personally hope they absolutely chuck it. Pars and Rovers dislike each other on a normal local rivalry basis, the Pars/Falkirk rivalry is just pure hatred. For me, I’d love to see them linger around L1 for a while until they have to take the Kelpies to a scrapyard just to pay Stenny so they can ground share Ochilview. Saying this, if they come up it’s another derby with all that brings so a win/win really. Looking forward to the Championship next term, be interesting to see who goes up to the Prem and who comes down, and if any of our L1 rivals join us. Nice knowing we can sit back and watch it all play out for the next few weeks. Hoping for an away Saturday 3pm kick off away at Starks, don’t think we got one at all in our last season together and the season prior was covid. I’m sure the BBC will be all over at least two of them for Friday nights live game.
  18. Big Todorov is a bit of fans favourite and has popped up with a couple of very important goals this season. McPake seems to like working with him and regularly praises his attitude, he might get limited game time but he'll give 100% in training and when he gets the chance. I personally would like to keep him as I think he adds the physicality, he'll certainly not be a starter in the Championship though, he'll be behind Wighton, McCann is viewed as more of a wide forward and has done really well there of late, and I think we'll bring one or two in. I think Todorov will start against you guys on Saturday. I noticed when McPake was making his subs on Saturday, once he hit the maximum amount he pulled Todorov and Kyle MacDonald to one side and it certainly looked like he was telling them they would get plenty game time in the final three games. I think O'Hara will probably go. He got injured early doors this season and made a comeback just after Christmas, he's chipped in with three goals this season, all as a sub off the bench, two were against Peterhead and Queens where we were already 3 and 4 nil up respectively. The only other was against Alloa with us winning 1-0 at the time, so he's good off the bench. I don't feel like criticising anyone too much just now as still in a bit of a post league win honeymoon feeling but he doesn't do enough in games for me. He's been here three seasons now and he has scored big goals but juts not enough. Suppose guys like Gabby McGill and Callum Smith were the same for us and have went on to score with you guys so who knows.
  19. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but just been listening to the latest episode of Open Goal, Keeping the Ball on the Ground. They started off by congratulating Spartans and ourselves for our respective league wins. The panel this week of Si Ferry, Derek Ferguson, Scott Allan and Kev Kyle spoke highly about the Pars, Scott Allan in particular who said it was really good to see us back in the Championship and he'd be interested on how we do next season. He's a pal of McPake, worked together at Dundee, car share etc, wonder if he could be at East End next season. I know he's not really featuring for Arbroath but lets be honest, their style this season isn't suited for Scotty Allan.
  20. Seen the signing of McGlynn and McGinn and thought we'd be up for a scrap. I know nothing.
  21. On their day Falkirk can turn on a performance but they’ve been found wanting this season when it’s a big game, I don’t see it changing. Fancy Airdrie to come up via playoffs and think Inverness will put two or three past them the way they’re going in the Championship. Yeah that’s more what I meant, if he got released is it as straight forward as no compensation due? Makes sense not to pay anything but I wasn’t 100% sure if they were brought up through the youth you could be due a fee. I agree, he’s not played much since going back to he won’t be playing at all for them in the Premiership if they do go up.
  22. Falkirk’s thread is absolutely mint at the moment if anyone’s needing a giggle. Few going for McGlynn out
  23. Would Dundee be due a development fee for Fisher if he was to join?
  24. Maybe the term out his depth is wrong but definitely saying he couldn't do it at Championship anymore, which after seeing him this season I would say is nonsense. Falkirk and Airdrie have players in the attacking third who could play Championship no bother. He was sound in the cup game against Partick Thistle. only the Dundee game where we lost 4-2 at Dens but we'd gave a couple of kids a go that night so not all entirely his fault. What we've missed for a long time is a leader and that is 100% when Bene is. We'll need to strengthen but I suppose depending on who from the out of contract guys doesn't get a new deal or re-signs. As it stands there are seven out of contract - Deniz Mehmet, Aaron Comrie, Rhys Breen, Kyle MacDonald, Paul McGowan (Loan), Kevin O'Hara, Nikolay Todorov. I think all of these players will have a case to get new deal, however it won't be as straight forward as that. Breen has potential offers from England and I'm sure clubs are keeping tabs on the others, especially Mehmet after the season he has had. KRH, Mochrie and Mahon will return to their parent clubs I wouldn't be shocked if McPake was interested in working with them again next season if doable. One of our strongest assets this season has been our togetherness and team spirit. Keeping as many of the current crop and adding 2/3 quality signings would be excellent.
