  1. Maybe it’s not try harder but being less fussy. He keeps going on about only signing if they’ll add quality, you’re not telling me there’s not players we could be looking at who aren’t better than what we already have, we might be top of the league but anyone who’s watched us this season will say we’re not exactly great to watch.
  2. He got 22 in the league, 30 all in with cup competitions. That’s one guy, we also had Moffat, Cardle, Geggan, Wallace popping up with goals. There isn’t enough goals in this team and it’ll need to be addressed and fairly quickly too. Trying their best to make signings that’ll strengthen the team, well try harder. Since the Germans came in it’s been two failed managers, a relegation and very little about a training academy.
  3. I wouldn’t think so. Nisbet’s purple patch has only been the last month so we weren’t depending on that, for all we knew he could have came back half the player he was, just turns out he’s went on a complete goal scoring spree. FWIW I think he’ll be away from Easter Road before Wednesday. Todays goal and 6- 0 thrashing of Aberdeen makes it look like he wants stay but clubs know the asking price and I’m sure there’ll be bids in the coming days.
  4. Course they have, but a result like this just magnifies the need for recruits. Goal scoring is a massive issue, so wasteful in the final third. The four strikers will score less than combined this season than El Bak scored on his own the last time we won this league in 2016. We know McPake and the board are trying to make signings and that they “have to be the right ones” but one thing for certain is we need fresh faces in for the remainder of the campaign or we’ll chuck this.
  5. That was poor today. Clyde goal was a bit of a scrap off the back of a set piece but in complete honesty we should have equalised instantly then had three more great chances before Edwards finally equalised. I’m convinced Bene and Breen had themselves on for an own goal today, they kept smashing the ball back to Deniz who then made a right f**k up with a couple of clearences, subsequently his confidence then plummeted. Every touch was out of control, every pass overran. Not one of them getting pass marks but I’m surprised he took Mochrie off, I think had he been on in the second half he’d have done much better as we were miles better as a team, far more composed. Second half was much better, had enough chances to win three games but took none of them. We’ll all drop points between now and May, so let’s just hope we’ve got ours out the way and go on another run. I hope this result just freshens something in McPake/boards minds that there is actually room for improvement and there probably is realistic singings that could be made that would add quality to the current squad. McCann was a handful when he came on but just like the running theme, final ball or end product is absolutely w**k. Matty Todd and Edwards ran themselves into the ground. Two points dropped against Peterhead, four dropped to Clyde just isn’t good enough. The Montrose defeat is fine, it was always going to happen, but the results against the bottom two have been brutal and in reality could cost us top spot. Bring on Montrose at home next Saturday, chance to put it right, hopefully a new face or two.
  6. Noticed when buying a ticket last night the info page said away support would now be housed in the North stand, is that the one behind the goals or is it just some info that is posted out for every game? Just that I’m sure I read we were in the main stand earlier in the week?
  7. We don’t know, Millwall have said nothing about the situation. I’m only looking at some comments on social media from Millwall fans, just like up here they have fans that think they’re ITK and said he failed a medical. Aye you’re probably right mate, bag isn’t all that bag when you consider that. Does Nizzy have a kid now, suppose just uplifting your family and moving is a bit more of an issue than going yourself. There is always this, their fans don’t seem very happy with him on social media so definitely be filling them now.
  8. I know it was already mentioned that he’d turned down Millwall but a few of the red tops posting photos on their twitter of Nisbet arriving back at Glasgow airport an hour or so ago. Tell you one thing, that’s a big suitcase for someone who went down and changed their mind. I hope to Christ he didn’t fail a medial and this wasn’t actually his choice. Also, I noticed the club posting something on the COWS a short while ago, Play your Part it’s called, basically trying to get some more volunteers on board so going to do a recruitment night on 6th of Feb. They’ve highlighted some areas they would like assistance with, I think it’s a really good idea. I’ve always wanted to help out in some way but was never sure in what area or how to even do it. I hope it’s a success! https://dafc.co.uk/story.php?t=Play+your+PARt&ID=14201
  9. Some interesting comments from McPake with regards to transfers from his Thursday interview - Asked if he had any news of new signings, the gaffer closed:- "We`re trying really hard and we`ll maybe know by Saturday. There`s a couple there that will help our squad if we can get it done. If not then it just wasn`t to be in this window. We`re looking at precontracts, we`re looking at contracts just now. Other teams are clearly doing that with a couple of our players as well such as regarding Josh, because there were a couple of phone calls about him. I`m hopeful but I`ll not be pushed into doing any. Again, it`s not the answer everybody wants to hear but it has to be the right fit. The ones that we have identified certainly are. We`ll see what happens." So potentially a chance for some movement before the Clyde game.
  10. I think Agyeman is one we could improve and sell on again. Would like to see him in this window if possible.
  11. Couple of good signings for Falkirk today. Can’t say I know an awful lot about the boy from Ross Co other than he scored two goals against us for Montrose. Allan also scored two against us at East End and the boy Meekison from Dundee Utd is a name I’ve heard banded about, I think Utd expect him to do well for them in time. Two of their new signings have scored 36% of the 11 league goals we’ve conceded this season. Expect them to move for Frizzel at Airdrie, Paton at Queens, Lyon at Kelty and the two jobbers that scored against us for Peterhead next. Not Agyeman though, I’d genuinely think we will make a move at some point, he was named in a McPake Thursday interview the other week and also the player who’s impressed McPake the most (said this at the council meeting). I think once the Nizzy money comes in we might move one striker on and bring him in, offers something completely different.
  12. The clubs twitter just posted some Josh Edwards content, little montage of some goals etc so fairly confident an announcement on a new deal won’t be far off. Huge if so, if we go up I think he stays and plays in the Championship. If he decides to go in the summer then we still get a fee.
  13. I think we'll bounce back just fine. Played well enough across the two games, should have beaten Thistle in 90 mins or at least ET with Hammy's chance. Was really surprised to see Clyde lost to Peterhead in the battle of the bottom two last weekend. Peterhead were dogshit at East End the weekend prior and the Clyde that rocked up to East End and should have beat us in the 2-2 draw looked good. Won't be a thumping but wouldn't be shocked with another 0-2 or 1-2 scoreline, another one closed to the flag.
  14. Ah thanks for clearing that up, wasn’t 100% sure. Sure there was some mention of floodlights getting revamped too.
  15. Wonder what the process for things like this. As soon as it goes through are Hibs expected to make contact with us, or do they turn their phone off pretending that they’ve forgotten. Probably some legal involvement somewhere, anyone actually know how it works?
  16. I'd actually quite like a Scoreboard, small one like Easter Road between the top and bottom tier of the main stand or something. Not sure it could go anywhere else. We were meant to be getting one as we were a ground picked to host Scotland ladies games for a tournament but it got binned around the covid period, was mentioned at a PSC meeting by Ross McCarthur. What was the crack with the Elvis statue? I know we had one, but why? Sure some of the players got photos with it alongside the Scottish Cup when we were on our 2004 run to the final.
  17. Our Grangemouth friends will hope so but I don't think the cup defeats will have any impact. I'm sure we'll drop points between now and May but so will everyone else in the division. The league isn't done, but I do think we'll win it. There's a lot of football to be played, I think we'll strengthen in the window, Falkirk could potentially be weakened if Kennedy leaves before they get a chance to add so who knows. I fully expect the march to the title to kick on when we take on Clyde this weekend.
  18. I wasn’t bothered about tonight at all. Don’t get me wrong, would have been nice to go through on Saturday but was all about the performance and not getting humped, if anything we should have won the game. Tonight, score line looks worse than it was, still went there and scored twice but as I said I wasn’t too fussed about going through, I’d rather we just kicked on and get out this league. Dundee went to Falkirk and won 0-3 in the last round so not like anyone in the division is doing anything better.
  19. Ah well, at least that’s done and dusted. Just league games until the end of the season. Some Dundee fan on twitter was posting the goals, some finish from Wighton!
  20. Was it 2009/10 or 2010/11 we had the really bad snow that began late November and went through until mid January? Might explain it.
  21. I'm sure it has happened to us before but not 100%, maybe wasn't two league games. I seem to recall season 2011/12 and Inverness CT, I'm sure we played them 800 times in one season, league games, cup plus replays. Glad it's a Saturday with us both being out the Scottish, common sense and chance of a better support with it being the weekend.
  22. Postponed Airdrie (a) game from December has now been rescheduled for the 11th of Feb which makes sense with us both being out of the cup. I imagine the Falkirk game will be a midweek now. So we'll be away to them on the 11th then have them back at East End the following week.
  23. Back again I know, but it’s slow news over at our place. RE the O’Hara chat, I have to say I was shocked when it was rumoured we were signing him given what had happened only a year or two before. However, he was pretty open and honest about it in his signing interview and we gave him the benefit of the doubt given he was just a kid and we all have done stupid things. With regards to the football, I was pretty happy as he’d done well regularly against us in Peter Grant’s Alloa team, few goals at East End much to his delight. Unfortunately he really hasn’t been that guy. I thought we might have got a poacher with a bit of pace, could even play wide but he’s wasted out there. Through the middle he’s came up with a couple of goals but not prolific enough, one hat trick away to Alloa early in his first season probably the most notable thing, fair play to him be only came on as a sub with 30 mins to go. There has been injury problems, mainly this year where he’s been out since early September but unless he has a very useful and prolific finish to the season I wouldn’t be hoping for a new deal. I think there’s a good chance he’ll bag a few goals between now and May but his all round play has to be better because if he’s not doing it in L1 then he won’t be doing it in the Championship if we get there.
