I do not want to see Pollok fail but figures being banded about are scary. Massive debt and a major sponsor trying to get his investment back. Very worrying times.

What kind of figures are getting banded about.

  2. Well Morton what can I say as a fan of one of your rivals,    fucking well done sums it up pretty well I think..

Watched that on the box the pitch and the Grand old Lady looked great,  Cappielow is one of the few bastions left of a happier time in Scottish Football,   I took in our Trust Trophy cup tie against  your selves behind enemy lines in the cowshed and was one of my most enjoyable afternoons of the season ,  where football should be played..

Right enough of the niceties,  I am away to put my money on Imrie to Ross County what's the odds......

A couple of my personal favourites were comments on the club’s Facebook page. One person suggesting a boycott of the car park situation and another rhetorically asking the club if they suggest he gets a train from Stirling to Airdrie via changing at Glasgow. Yes? I will also be getting the train from Glasgow and you will be completely fine 👍 I appreciate the potential issues RE accessibility or mobility but, I’m sure if you phone the club they will sort parking for you and, indeed, this seems have happened already for a couple of fans who mentioned this issue on the Facebook page.

I don’t think the parking situation as is on Sunday would be sustainable *if* we got promoted. But for a one off game I think folk will survive if you take alternative modes of transport to the game, walk or park a bit further away or earlier before the game as a one-off.

If we’re talking about moaning though, definitely eat before you go because no chance you’re both getting a pie and seeing the game on Sunday 😂

I don't think the club are willingly chasing us away from the stadium, bigger sides like St Johnstone who we put to the sword have always had stadium parking for all big games,  alright we will have half a dozen TV wagons and cables going everywhere,   I heard the club had a few meetings with Police Scotland regarding the match, maybe this is the best solution to keep costs down, I can only guess,   what do the club get charged for Officers on duty in the park and outside etc or do we get charged for extra plod on the streets of Airdrie keeping us all safe going to and from the game..

I sincerely hope we get our act together regarding the kiosks,  this is the chance to shine and make money, if this is the usual shambles and quality surely for next season we need to get a decent company Pie Sports or somebody to give us a more varied and better product,  that we have all commented on when on our travels this season..

Hopefully there's no any bother as the vast majority of folk just want to go to the game and get back.

    Was a friendly right? early 00's. 1-1?

Agree totally,   have you sold your allocation of around 4.5 k

.yes a pre season friendly played in a monsoon around 05,  1 each with Owen Coyle scoring a peach and i think it was Phil Stamp scoring for Hearts( could be wrong)

  5. Hope you good Hearts people are looking forward to the game like ourselves,  hopefully Police Scotland don't make this a bit of a chore,  no parking in stadium complex or surrounding roads,  When this happens it is guaranteed that pockets of trouble will break out, with no old bill in attendance obviously..   Have you been informed of the Police enforcing the "Thistle law". keeping supporters behind after the game until Home supporters can be dispersed,  (knowing our luck they will keep the 2.5 k Airdrie supporters back)..

Should be a decent occasion,   do any of you guys remember the last time you played Airdrie at the Excelsior (one time)

I'm not 100% sure but I think we've sold all the East and 2 or 3 sections in the south. Probably shift a few more before Sunday as well.

What do the stands hold? Must be close to 4k so far.

The East is 2.8k and South is 1.8k

    Thanks for the heads up.

How are the sales.of the Hearts tickets getting on,  I think we are hoping / expecting 4.5k away fans for this time,  if so , hats off big time, that would be an impressive following.

Some good news in here about the stadium, though I would be interested to know how they're funding it and what the long-term implications of that funding are. I'm not sure reverting to a grass pitch would send out the best message to the academy at a time when we're already blocking the pathway for young players coming through, and, even beyond that, I think it's good to be in control of where the players are training in the absence of any dedicated training ground.

That would presumably be Clyde getting punted, that agreement would be with McGowan....

Oh the irony of a Airdrie fan criticising the behaviour of another clubs fans.

We are just pissed off , we couldn't get you in the Final, it would have been lower league box office,     That would have been a decent final....

Regarding recent troubles League 1 used to be a sleepy old seaside league,  looks at it now Alloa young guns or whatever they call themselves running riot,  Falkirk and Hamilton fans squaring off,   what next...

Yeh, his biggest problem is his age but he's going to get mentioned when most jobs in Scotland come up. He needs to manage his career carefully as a wrong choice could set him back but he's a clever guy.

As we are all aware, PH keeps everything close to his chest but there is absolutely no way he's not been discussing new contracts with him and Dycey.

Of course situations change quickly in football and a quick look at the league table sees us in a healthy 5th place but 5 points from the relegation play off. I'll be much more relaxed if we can get 4 points from our next 2 league games against Ayr and Morton given that we've lost twice to Ayr and Morton are the league's form team.

It's working for Rhys and us at the moment,  he has total control over everything,  PH just leaves him to it apparently and Rhys gets what he wants within reason,   he goes to other 'bigger' clubs, would they be willing to give him total control, I don't think so,    I personally think he will be here for the foreseeable future,  Football changes quickly,  pressure will be on him for the Hearts game, from the media and the armchair curiosity fans,  we need a good show next week and more importantly follow it with 3 points against Ayr the following week.

Is the Main Stand not 3300, the East 2900, South and North 1900 each? Agree that with 1700 home fans v St Johnstone then we'll do well to get 2k given time and on tv.

I could be wrong the figures I got quoted when the stadium opened at first were,  3750. main Stand,  1800 each behind the goals  and 2820 East,   I don't think it is far off,  still think 6 k or just above for Hearts game,  depends what we sell and any neutrals that want to come along, we have that factor as well,

I think it's 40k for winning and 25k being runner up + 40% of gate receipts each, which is probably worth at least 750k if you're playing massive FC.

Thanks for info , hopefully accies can get there act together and out that league, trust me the longer you are in it, it sucks the life out the club....

  13. Listen I would swap places with Raith in a minute,  top of the league,  very talented squad,   but Murray has been a bit of a kid on a sweetie shop signing wise,  did you really need to sign Rudden,  I have saw this lad numerous times for Thistle and Dundee and honestly not seen him have a decent game yet,  Hamilton or Smith i rate higher,  the same with Kyle Turner does he add much more to a very talented midfield,  something isn't right is it a clash of egos,  Dylan's has to be massaged, Murray is the man to do it,  an off form Vaughn and Smith are the same,

In watching Watson and Murray are 2 meat and tatties centre Half's,  who struggle in a game of pass the parcel,  so much of today's game even at our level starts from passing out from the back,  in your good run O Reilly was passing out  through the lines ...

Murray at Airdrie was as dour as f**k most of the time, but he ground out results, maybe he is struggling with a better supporting cast,  he might need to go back to basics, to get this going again..

Good luck for the rest of the season,

  14. The last few finals have been on astro,  if Falkirk win , I can see the final being played at Livi,  Good luck to TNS ,  but an Airdrie v Falkirk final is lower league box office,....

Onto tonight's game where we controlled it pretty much throughout,  their were a couple of performances worth mentioning. Dean McMaster a player I haven't been as praiseworthy as others  towards,  he had a man marking job on Lewis Vaughn,  who is arguably one of the best players in the league,  Dean schooled him tonight...   The other was Charlie Telfer who again played Dylan Easton out the game, nothing fancy, simple one touch football and a cool head....

Nights like tonight, makes you think how far we have came from the dark days (not that long ago).   Let's enjoy this,  we deserve a wee turn.

I think we've already sold out the East Stand and a chunk of the South and tickets only went on sale yesterday. My guess is we'll sell both stands already allocated. A couple of good performances in the upcoming games might see us sell more if available in the North. I think KO time and the date has played a part, if it was Saturday at 3pm we'd be looking at over 5k easy I think seeing as it's the SC, not somewhere we've played competitively before and is relatively easy to get to.

Would imagine the North stand would be available if numbers merited it,   The frustrating thing is the main stand will probably be half empty holds just under 4k,    Airdrie at a push IMO will sell 2k which is a decent number for ourselves as you say kick off time and BBC game will be shown in the attendance unfortunately..

It won't be easy but I do think it's possible. There's a new positivity about the place just now so we just need to plug on. Caley on Saturday will be interesting - shame Welsh will be out.

We are on 28, and in a decent place 'at the moment' but our Away record is terrible, apart from the recent win against yourselves, we only picked up 4 points in half a season away from home,  and after our next game we will have only 5 home left and 9 away,   so as you say things could get tight for a number of teams

Get back to basics with the formation. Rotate the squad slightly, with a focus on getting players in at their natural positions.

Could easily go either way, regards the result, but that's no surprise.

Would like to see Rovers make another final. Won't lose a minute's sleep if they're out come bed time Friday.

It looks to me as if Murray is going baws out to win this cup,   to be honest looking at your signings recently, all on paper top drawer for this level,  Rudden and Turner,  is that areas of the pitch you have an abundance of riches,

Murray is or at least used to be the epitomy of a safety first manager, bordering on being dour,  this season maybe due to the players at his disposal Dylan, Vaughn, Hamilton etc  ,  but he seems to be signing players aka lower league galacticos,

I hope you guys can nick it from United at end of season, although I think they will eventually go on a run .
