  1. That's nice, us Airdrie fans always enjoyed a trip to dear old Hampden Park, that was back in the old co Queens Park days, if only you didn't sell your soul , aw well, that's life, difficult game today against big spending now professional Queens Park , I am sure Hampden will be rocking, oh sorry make that Firhill home of Partick Thistle, look forward to the abuse at thec pgane...... 2 - 1 the good guys
  2. Paul Lovering is going a good job at Benburb. Rubbers was an ex Ayr player as well..
  3. I am led to believe he was never on the wage bill in the first place, The way he was whored to the media was over the pail stuff from a now ex employee, I sincerely hope he goes on to have a good career and wish him well....
  4. ......The Forwards are fine as long as they do there job and score goals, Gallagher is a proven 10 to 15 goal a season striker, Salim should do fine if he gets a run at it, Allan as showed on Friday is a backup, McGill after been written off early on, is doing well and our most likely to get a goal, Smith a player I like a lot, looks out of sorts on the right or left wings, the lad should be playing as a part of 3 with either Ball or Salim, a little bit of square pegs and round holes I feel.. We will have to play a lot better even to get a point at firhill on saturday, Murray will not get fired, who will do it....
  5. That's twice I have seen Queens Park this season, got to say i was pretty impressed,, use the full pitch well, Brown in centre mid looks a championship player. My only concern would be playing to much football every move was carefully constructed allowing defences to get organised, although Queens had the majority of possession we were never cut open with the keeper having nothing to do.... Mixed bag for our ex players Kilday at as a back up centre back was immense, McHugh didn't do much has certainly put on the timber since he played with ourselves... Onto Firhill next week, hopefully have some more options available for ourselves..
  6. Heard at the game last night Henderson was offered to Edinburgh City, Falkirk, Allo a and Queens Park.
  7. Airdrie were forced to play there game away at Peter head on Saturday with 6 players out with covid., Seemingly as long as you can field 11 players, training or not, the game goes on... interesting that Rangers have now got cases, what's the odds of double standards and the old firm game gets postponed..
  8. What a horrendous time to be an Airdrie fan under Wotherspoons tenure, a complete soap opera,,, Bollan getting stabbed in the back by that wrong un Iain King and his sidekick EWB, not to mention Alan Upton (who), the large number of youth coaches getting sent to Barcelona for coaching, who have never been seen again.. Then we had the "Right here, Right Now ' situation with Wotherspoon and his secretary..... Not to mention the constant signing of unknown poor players, Sumsky and Esposito come to mind, there are many others... The following season when all of the above were 'found out' we brought in Dalziel on a consultancy role, who can ever forget the the day of the long knives when Wotherspoon seemed to sack everybody that answered their phone and we got left with Mark Wilson who somehow got us to the playoffs.... the following close season , was horrendous and if it wasn't for the TRUST we wouldn't be here today, EWB seems to get a gig (somehow) even to this day, I thought he was completely useless and I lost any small respect I had for him when I found it be had shagged his right back....
  9. Probably the most structured and professional set up since the reformation is the current one ,
  10. According to I'M on the Peter head preview on DTV, he has a shoulder injury not responding to treatment and now needs surgery, so I reckon the new year at best for a return...
  11. Sadly not ITK, good logical guess, it worked well, I wouldn't play with fire twice, if the centre half S are still out isolating for the Allo a game, I would sign or loan a new centre back, especially with Lyons probably out till new year..
  12. Fantastic performance and result, the team were in total control most of the game, seemed to play at a tempo Peter head struggled with especially in the first half.. 3 goals but I felt we could easily have had a few more, really encouraging signs.. Peter head struggled till big McLean came on, then they began to get up the pitch and cause problems, apart from the Montrose debacle we have played decent passing football and we seem a better side than previous seasons..... I interesting that no media are mentioning we are 6 players short due to covid, the joys of lower league football...
  13. 10 days isolation after positive test, the cases appear to be staggered over a couple of days, would imagine the Alloa game next week would be affected, if so. New defenders would need to be signed even just on loan..
  14. Exact opposite to our support who moan constantly about no cash gate and having to go online to get an e ticket, which actually works great...
  15. Guess the team tine...... Currie McGill. McCabe. Fordyce.. MacDonald Agnew Frizzell. Easton G McGill. Gallagher. Smith subs....Cantley, Ritchie,,,, that's it..... Good luck guys, we must take those chances today
  16. The shelter is still there in the same place, I seem to remember it wasn't fit for purpose, just looks like a glorified bus shelter.......
  17. Personally I would like to keep what we have, who are willing to abide by the New system of entry, remember this is due to covid not some obstacle to the swaying fan who might go, might not.... i have always found the club admin approachable, if people have concerns giving back details etc, speak up dont bitch on social media about it.. Can anyone confirm if Christies still have the catering franchise,if so mayb e that is reason cash is taken at the kiosks...
  18. Begs the question, why would it ........Too early to make accurate ascertions, Many clubs have went down the cashless route and is it affecting there crowds, home crowd attendances are worryingly low although are these offset with the live streaming crowds. Is 18 pound putting people off, does a pound of two make such a difference, especially with no 50\50 or programmes to take your extra pennies.... We are going to hold Murray's feet to the fire, if we don't win the league (he did state it). are we now an also ran League 1 club with sub 500 home attendance at games, how are we expected to compete with Falkirk with 2k season ticket holders, Do we give a flying f*** anymore ..... and personally i think we will go toe to toe with them all season....
  19. I too don't think there is a great deal wrong, squad depth and quality of player is better, not convinced about the obsession of a defensive midfield player, is McCabe not p!aying that role. Paton was decent last season and I think he has only started one game this season, due to niggling injuries, if we did sign Paton we wouldn't have McCabe, who is arguably one of our best players.... For what it's worth I thought in the first half with the high press we pinned Falkirk back for long spells, the 2 goals were a shambles although Currie was unlucky the ball fell to Morrison as it was a decent save. Gallagher struggles as the line striker and like all season so far, was a good yard off the pace, Smith was lost playing on the left.... We need Salim back and scoring goals, can see him and Smith being our strikeforce when fit.....
  20. There aren't many of this Airdrie side who are full t Which players are full time, out of starting 11 I think there is at least 6
