  1. Can you point out my spelling mistakes for future reference.... I take your point regarding your Rangers colts but I will raise you 2 Dundee United colts same thing or is just an "old firm thing"
  2. That response is why lower league clubs are sufferring a death by a thousand cuts scenario where ' managed decline' is acceptable....
  3. The problem I have with the ' Colts teams in L2' is it will screw up the already screwed up pyramid systen.... What I would change is the loan process, look at your L1 teams for example who are dead against, Falkirk have 4 rangers co!ts in there side, Thistle have had 4 rangers Colts this season, League above qos have 3 rangers colts, Inverness and Dunfy have a splattering. if there are so against them, why fall over themselves, to sign them. what I would propose is old firm Colts can only go on loan to League 2 clubs only, Maximum of 4 per club, this would let these players " cut their teeth' and play in a competitive environment...... I I look forward to constructive responses..
  4. Give it a rest ffs, of course he is picking his own team, Millar is away now..... It's Murray's team and his subs that are changing the games in our favour.. Today's draw was massive especially after the Falkirk game, we now have a decent chance of top 5, different type of pressure on the manager and players now..... We are not great against teams that come to Airdrie and 'sit in'.. You never know Murray could pull this out the bag and earn himself a new deal..
  5. JUSTICE for the most dominant second half all season, Well done to all involved...
  6. The squad is a train wreck,, we have got bits and pieces all over the park, I think there is a lot more going on behind the behind the scenes than we know about, and I am not talking about the mckays, or to put it a different way I think the club will be glad when a few contracts a re up.
  7. In Stuart Millars first season as DOF I feel the recruitment and the process was a lot clearer, signingGall, Fordyce, Roberts, Big Nat and latterly Ryan as well as good young uns, Kyle Mc, McCann etc, we had a plan which for the first time in many years, gave us a head of steam , hit top of the league prior to xmas and hitting form at the right time before covid struck...... I think we are not too far away if recruitment this close season is corrected, There are plenty players even in this league that would improve us. CCFG as you mentioned are good pros, but are they consistent enough in there own performances to baby sit younger players who need , guidance and coaching on the pitch.. Remember Alex Nei! At Hamilton who was top class at this level, took the heat of McCarthy and Mc Arthur....and look where they ended up.... This season for allclubs has been a train wreck, not helped by our crazy ego driven signing po!icy, certain players have real!y not been involved as said before why sign Burke, Moore, Hughes who are on full time deals apparently, obviously not on a kings ransom, but with no team to play in there wages could have been used to top up offers for better players, which was and still is clearly needed.. Somehow we have to navigate out this league, we have tried many different ways and basically end up where we start... Is reconstruction a way, probably the most realistic way to kick start and protect many clubs, on the downside if that happened we would have to embrace the "colts"... If no reconstruction fast forward five years, realistically clubs like Brechin, cowdenbeath and the rovers (no disrespect to any of them) will be lowland league, it will be impossible for these clubs to fight off ambitious clubs Kelty, EK, Brora, BSC at the pass......How far can these ambitious clubs go and how long can we as a club tread water...... Reference the Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday training etc, this looks a sensible approach due to the game schedule till end of the season, and with the furlough scheme still there, the club could claim something back for the full timers.
  8. McCracken a deluded p***k.... Gary Holt must be close to pulling the trigger on those two...I
  9. Falkirk had our right back on toast most of the game with Dixon and Morrison causing trouble, to be fair to Airdrie we rolled with the punches and got our rewards, with players seemingly enjoying this hectic schedule, we still have a lot of issues, Making the top 5 has to be a realistic possibility.... Lee Miller why , was a disgrace and did nothing to help his team on his cameo appearance.
  10. Are you trying to say that the Director of Football is on an ego trip, interfering in issues that are the responsibility of the team managers, where have I heard that before..... Destined to fail.....
  11. Interesting reading the Falkirk thread about the backs to the wall display against a poor Celtic side, and Falkirk are supposed to be out leagues finest and will no doubt take the title..... clubs a t our level and the championship are totally against old firm Colts teams, I understand the concerns, but looking at a different way, out leagues a re choc full of old firm colts, if colts had teams in the league these players would not be available for loan, would our clubs be forced to scout more and "grow there own' surely this is the way forward, than having the old firm on speed dial.. a bit of double standards is it not....
  12. At least Murray is still in there fighting unlike Millar who disappeared like snow off a dyke when he got found out,
  13. Swap you Murray for obi wan Duffy Deal or no deal......
  14. It was never going to be pretty, always thought we were the better side, First victory since we beat Falkirk seems like a lifetime ago......
  15. Right guys backs to the wall, Airdrie have been there before, we come out swinging, right...... Not this sorry lot, our only hope on Thursday is Kyle Turner is as good as suggested, Paul Paton is fit and given the captain's armband for the rest of the season, Don't panic Sean you can still be social convenor.... Dumbarton have signed a 'few'in there battle against the drop, we are In freefall and have the DNA of a team and club which is dropping and quickly, look atBrechin for example...... We are a deluded bunch filling our heads full of bullshit in preseason, with the 'signings' the 3 West Haml loanees (still waiting) Players were apparently carefully scouted to lead us to glory. Murray's time has come and gone and needs to be relieved of his duties, even in the bad days under JB, we never plumbed the depths of League 2.. PH has decisions to make and quickly, he pulled the plug on Stuart Millar gladly, When all this plays out I know who will have"blood on there hands"
  16. Quick question my fellow League 1 sufferers, we have recently parted company with your old friend Stuart Millar and we have been left in a hell of a state, with L2 a distinct possibility..... Is this similar to his tenure at Clyde and do you think it was linked to your long stay in League 2//// good luck for the remaining games
  17. Didn't worry about it w e are still with Umbro next season and no doubt a rehashed 95 cup final strip (rumoured) will keep us all happy as we go for League 2 glory....... like yourself and as my previous posts state, we have gone ....Dumbarton on Thursday is a MUST not lose..... Cove first though and damage limitation is on the cards....He has to play Walker at RB, and Sabatini and Ritchie giving Paton a hand in midfield, don't even bother putting O Reilly or Robert on the coach....
  18. I have tried to be objective regarding Murray during his tenure, it's getting tough now and in my opinion he must be gone at season end.... But that team which was lets not forget given to Murray by StuartMillar, whether Murray wanted them or not... Let's break these p!Ayers down... Currie... Highly rated by a relegated team, Much better keepers in this league.. JMacKay...... Don't know how he ends up at right back????? McCann...... Started greatseason on loan from accies, since we signed him his regression has been alarming.. Crighton..... Captain marvel, poor distribution, getting found out, no real leader Fordyce...... Having a poor season, fans favourite, limited , poor distribution McKay..... Should havebeen playing as a midfield 2 with Paton, wandered everywhere where he shouldn't ,headless chicken Robert..... Gutless, spineless totally unable to beat a man and even put in a bad cross...a media whore Paton...... Only player who seemed to have fight and have a real idea of how to play football, this is a 33 yo who plays lowland league. Gallagher..... Held the ball all up well enough, no real goal threat Carrick.... Playing in the no 10 role or is 10 the number of minutes he can muster before he blows out his arse these days, Good player when you are riding teams.. O Reilly..... Holy f**k... Well he can run with the ball and wait to be fouled, which he does consistently, crossing the ball seems being him, no idea of tracking back or pressuring an opponent ... I don't think he is even junior level.... Subs.... Roy......give me a break, scored, would be know where near a good side Mbayo.......Tuesday will be fun to watchside Thomson........ See O Reilly Connell...... See Gallagher... Focussing on a must win game on Thursday at Dumbarton, we win there we could have a chance if not, can you see this ragtag bunch digging us out... Oh and Tuesday in Cove could be a sore one I don't see Meggisonand co !osing much sleep over facing Mbayo and co
  19. Personally think the signings of Paton and Turner, show the board is fully behind I am Murray... A quality of player we have to recruit .... Not spunk out resources on youth players that have no team to play in. Raising the standards of Thomson, o Reilly and Roy... I would like to think we would move on from these players at season end, they are perennial subs who put no pressure on the starting 11 who struggle also.. What do you think will happen in the close season Spanish Armada, a reset with an emphasis on building a team trying to get more experience or the status quo of released pro youth players which has proven not to work under IK stewardship and to be honest Stuart Millars tenure also.
  20. Haud on, the system is working we get the cast offs from other clubs, we improve them and sell them on for money, Edwards and Kyle Mac for example and also Stewart and Keiran Mac........ That is the reason we do t sign a player over 25 (remember that mantra pushed by some on here). This is a tongue firmly in cheek statement although true, Stuart Millar must have went to the same coaching school as Iain King(s ic) it I s the same manifesto , next season We have a chance to reset whatever division we are in.... As in the latter JB years we were the lowest payers on the full time market and that shows in your quality of player/
  21. I have a funny feeling we will return to part time from next season, the quality of our Full time player is horrendous
