But the problem being is the signings come from league 1 and league 2 and sometimes certain players cant cope with junior football , and by that I mean no time on the ball getting closed down rapidly and Troon did that brilliantly yesterday , iM no saying they are bad players but for me they won’t do at this level and would be amazed if they were there next season , in fact I will be amazed if 10 of that squad will be at darvel next season on what I’ve seen recently but trust me on this mick will rebuild as second is no use to him , he’s a winner and im pretty sure he will say this season has been a disaster , no silverware for the money spent is shocking
Let's hope they haven't signed 2/3 years contracts or they will be sitting on their arses coining in brewsters millions being bench warmers.

The standard of Scottish football from top to bottom is horrendous.
The WOS League is a competitive league but the standard is terrible.
Mick won't be there if the budget is cut hes a chequebook manager just as he was at Colville and look what happened there when he left.
Here's a collectors item i agree .

If your a so called Talbot fan let us know who you are and we can bring you in cause your knowledge of the game on and off the park is astounding. Seriously ur wealth of knowledge and experience will only take your club forward so we can avoid this happening for another 20+ years. If you don't have the balls to say ur name keep ur negative chat to a minimum ur giving my phone a sore head cause your greeting like a wee lassie constantly.
Brilliant but no chance of a name because he would get his keyboard confiscated.

and what about the actual player as well btw, surely every man and their dug knows ye can't play in the same cup competition for 2 separate teams, could he not have said he'd already played in it?
Thank christ a bit of commonsense.

Seems on here some "Auchinleck supporters " are happier to see them excluded from the competition rather than looking at the people who do administration for Auchinleck and trust what they do and have done for years.

Could we get someone from the competition organisers on here to clarify what Auchinleck Talbot asked when trying to get the player on emergency loan, that would clear things up imo.

Let's play devil's advocate, talbot didn't do there due diligence on the player, did the player go wait a minute I have already played in this competition or did he say nothing because of the honour of playing for Auchinleck, when Talbot went to the sfa for the emergency loan and told them the players name did they not say no you can't play him he's cup tied as iam sure it would flag up on their player tracking system what he had already played in. Just my opinion might be away off the mark.

And u say week in week out ur a talbot supporter who has said from either side this keeper played in previous rounds they maybe 1 more person with the same name but yet again u slate talbot all the time maybe wait for the facts first and if u know talbot that well ask urself why would we break the rules haven't done for years so why should we now and if the rules have been broken why don't u put urself forward and help the club
Took the words out my mouth never have too many committee members.

He played for Troon in an earlier round.
That was the boy Fisher the reason for getting another keeper on loan yesterday

He dug himself into a hole last season and despite offers of hands out and getting behind the team, he’s just sits in it bitterly snapping while being proven wrong.
He is so negative and disheartening for players and supporters alike it is unbelievable.

Mental spending 12k and him not getting a game, not to mention the wages involved.
Is this a case spending for the sake of spending or is it just being big time charlie.

Mick Kennedy was caught on camera approaching Jamie in his garden and finally got his man. Jamie left Talbot because he wasn't getting enough game time. He started with all guns blazing with the circus but has slowly been ushered to the bench again. I hope he gets back into the team or moves to another club which will be highly unlikely as nobody will match Darvel's asking price because they paid good money for him. Great wee player I was sad to see him leave Beechwood.
If they are getting paid the same if not less than other teams surely there is a deal to be made. I would think its better to play than just take the money after all its a short career ,what is the size of Darvel's squad.

I personally think the opportunity to sign a player from Talbot and put a marker down to the league was the driver for it.
Seriously

Kennedy was on record saying Syme was a big part of his plans so unsure as to what's happened.
What was his reason for signing jamie Glasgow then.

Mate it will rankle with gall forever that I chased mick for 6 months and brought him To the club after his attempts , he’s the best man manager of footballers that I’ve came across in all my years in the game , do I think he’s perfect ? Far from it I hear u going on about meechan , I could do the job he does and I’m 58 , he’s very professional does his job but for the outlay and wages he will be on I would expect a lot more out of him , ross Caldwell plays every week and for the life of me I don’t know why but mick must see something in him that I and the boys around me don’t see , and left back is an obvious weakness but again must be a reason why Jordan Allan is no playing as he’s far better player than boy McGowan , good thing for gall is I see we now have a sporting director so will be interesting to see who he brings in after mick leaves and he will , he’s done it in amateur football , junior football and I know he will be a success in the senior game , players just want to play for him it’s as simple as that
Come on m8 get a grip he was at colville park who at that level had money (may be his)darvel the new Gretna and you think he could do the same job going to a club with little money ie spfl teams like Dumbarton partick and arbroath . Do you honestly think he would be there if the cash cow wasn't there.

Seems quite remarkable that there's no public sale.
Wonder what the breakdown is, home/away/friends and family/corporate sponsors/freebies?
At £20 a head is it little wonder

Is this the same well done darvel that took 50 to Auchinleck and about 100 to a home game against clydebank last week.

Cheers jb. Yeah,it's been a wee while but all good bud. On the subject of team talks however,if you can thole listening to the very odd couple of Scottish football, tune in to yesterday's OTB and you'll hear Mr.Gall provide a team talk for all of Darvel's future opponents. Quite a remarkable interview.
Sickening.

The work was required to get the crowd above 2200, it was also about improving the ground as whole.
The obviously varies, but around 300, but your comparing us to clubs that have had years of of success. We are trying to build all aspects of the club including the fan base, it all takes time. But games like tomorrow, help build that connection with the community
I think you have to sit the pieman down and give him a lesson in being humble and respectful to opposition teams, supporters and the local community then you might be on the road to being a community club.

Don't think you can use that as an excuse as you have set the benchmark for every team at this level.
