  1. Doesn’t surprise me though. He’s all over child abuse lik a tramp on chips.
  2. She'll never be happy with winning that medal, even though her opponent cheated because at the end of the day, the Rangers didn't compete in the competition so it doesn't count.
  3. And that the weather is good. That's gonna be the difference for Rangers this season.
  4. I was curious to find out about them after you mentioned so I looked it up and found this. Quirky indeed. I like how the social club backs on to the main stand, which itself looks like it's behind the goal. I also like the hill in th far corner of the pitch.
  5. Will be interesting to see how this one goes, if it does that is. Zombies most hated man. Takes over club. Puts in investment. Club start to improve. Ashley becomes hero. All is forgotten Fat Mike. Fleeting loyalties and fickleness. Would make a mockery of the Ibrox faithfuls stance against him. Christ! Once they kiss and make up they could even give him a bj.
  6. Ness FC is a truly beautiful ground in a true beautiful place. It always amazes me that the pitch is always covered in daisies when I visit up there. I visit the village of Cross, a mile away, 3 times a year to take my Daughter to see her Grandparents there. My late Girlfriend is buried in the Clach Nis (Ness Cemetery) just behind the football ground overlooking Eorpaidh Beach so being up there is always pretty special. Here's a few pictures I took with the drone last time I was up. They were used in a calendar promoting the area.
  7. Pretty sure Hansen is from Fishcross, which for those of you who are unfamiliar with the Wee County, is the small village next to Sauchie. Sauchie Juniors ground is slap bang between Fishcross and Sauchie and the two towns are now pretty much joined together by a new housing estate. The golf course right next to the ground is Alloa Golf Course which in itself is strange as the golf course is on the fringes of Fishcross and Sauchie and when you leave it you have to travel through Sauchie to get to Alloa. Ha ha. Oh, and the golf course is locally called Schawpark. I had no idea the ground had been redeveloped. Also, in the panoramic photo, who are they playing? That looks like a hell of a crowd.
  8. The Sixes was a brilliant tournament and one that, during its time at Falkirk, drew some serious competition from the top teams. It should be back in some way but with the way things are nowadays I would doubt it would be anywhere near as exciting as it was. No chance the top teams would risk their players in it. It was looked upon as a serious tournament in its own right. Bring it back.
  9. I know what you're meaning however, I'm talking about the stands that start high up but have no terracing in front, just dugouts and stuff.
  10. The main stand in the first photo's an interesting one. I've seen stands like this in a few places in Scotland, where the front row of the stand seating is about 8 feet up and unlike most stands doesn't start on the ground. Alloa's main stand is like that too. Must make for a more elevated view of the pitch whilst, I assume, making better use of the space underneath the stand.
  11. I got some footage with my drone earlier this year up at ICT's stadium. You can see it in this film from 1.20 onwards. Was a great day. ICT were playing Celtic away so I parked in the car park in front of the stadium. I went over to the main door to ask if it was ok to park there and an old gentleman was locking up and going to his car. Turned out to be Kenny Cameron the Chairman. He then offered to take me round the ground for a tour so unlocked the doors and off we went. Proper nice guy. Spent an hour inside the ground chatting to him and finding out about running a football club. Also got told some interesting stories about the game but what was really interesting was his view on the fallout from the death of Rangers and how it affected all the other Scottish clubs. Top guy.
  12. Something I used to be fascinated by when I was young and watched football on the telly. Invalid cars. They had a place at many a game and were mostly seen at grounds that tended to have semi circular areas behind the goal. If anyone is from the Alloa area, they'll remember the old garage in Fishcross that had a dozen or so of them at the side of the building stacked on top of each other.
  13. I love the fact that 2 wee ladies are running about having a laugh on the terracing.
  14. I was a bit of work I did to show S1 pupils how to use Google Sketchup 3D CAD. Over a number of weeks I built it showing pupils the skills to make stuff on the computer. Most of the boys wanted to make football stadiums so I indulged them. The capacity is the same, give or take 50, as the current capacity.
  15. Used to sit just in front of that. 411, G seat 1. Even got reseated for a game once right next to a pillar and wasn't a problem.
  16. Wind your neck in. What's wrong with that view? You can see the whole pitch from there and before you say you can't see the closest goal, that's because the camera you took it with wasn't wide enough. You need to remember you are in a 60000 capacity stadium, with two tiers, the top of which you look like you are near the front of. I'd say you're getting a pretty good view of the pics, and the atmosphere but some people want to moan.
  17. We gotta keep dreaming boys. If we build it, they will come. Dig deep Mulraney!
  18. I made a redesign of the Recs in Alloa last year using Google Sketch Up for a class I was teaching in 3D CAD. It's got an angled stand at the railway end. Capacity matches the current capacity. All it needs is for Mulraney to dig deep into his pockets. Until then, I'll keep dreaming.
  19. Another funny thing about Recreation Park, and probably the same at many lower league grounds, was the fact the the matchball was regularly booted out the ground. Got to the point where all the minks from Hawkhill used to line up across from the ground in the hope that a Mitre Delta would be booted over the Clackmannan Road. I also seem to remember a game in the late 80's where a ball was booted out just over the height of the stadium wall, hitting a passing double decker bus and landing back inside the stadium.
  20. I've been told by quite a few folk in the know that the 4th stand hasn't been built because it's within the blast zone of a major incident at Grangemouth Chemicals. The rest of the stadium and the line that marks the boundary goes through it.
  21. Was speaking to my mate about the funnier quirks of some of our grounds in Scotland and we got talking about how at Alloa, unless you're playing Sevco, the fans change ends at half time too. And the fact that at certain games, there's a guy who works as a steward who'll let fans nip out to get something from KFC. So, what's yours?
  22. This is Rangers new signing. He's there to give Barton some competition for his place.
