  1. You seem to have confused this with a non-existent match thread about tonight's game. This is about Hearts' entire European campaign, which yes, as a somewhat-obsessed Hibby, I do care about. It's funny seeing your rivals lose, it's especially funny seeing them lose horrendously. But nothing is funnier to me than seeing you do the "we don't care that we were pumped" routine.
  2. Sure, it's not like Hearts fans have spent decades laughing at Hibs for "winning the singing", glorious failures and deflecting from embarrassing European results. Take your medicine, it's part of a football rivalry.
  3. Stunning levels of revisionism from Hearts fans on Twitter, who are now going with the line "done the best we could've" about their European campaign. "Seeded third, finished third", the sort of line that would make a Tory spin doctor blush. They seem to be overlooking the fact that they didn't just lose to the first and second seed, they lost on a 7-1 and 8-1 aggregate, with both of their famous goals coming when the opposition were 3 and 4-0 up respectively. Quite how they are defending it is beyond me, but they never let you down. Keeps Neilson in a job, so let them crack on with it.
  4. This has aged like fucking milk by the way.
  5. One club and one club only in world football who get away with that.
  6. Just to confirm, we’ve taken away the joy of celebrating a goal in order to “stamp out the refereeing errors”, and yet half the people on here think that there have been refereeing errors today?
  7. Out in four games. In a third-rate competition. Pumped in three of the four games. The worst European campaign of any Scottish team ever? Firm yes.
  8. In hindsight, the OP not updating the thread to say "2022/23" instead was quite prophetic.
  9. Stopped using this forum as regularly as I used to, when did Ric become a dull as dishwater poster?
  10. Always mighty fucking pleasing to witness Celtic and their support have to come to terms with their minuscule standing in European football for another season.
  11. He did score a perfectly legitimate goal at Tannadice tbf.
  12. Where the f**k have Tommy Wright's St Johnstone appeared from by the way?
  13. Again, what sort of sad life must you have to be a match-going fan who wanted a celebration like that?
  14. People talk about the imbalance of the Old Firm vs the rest of the league in the SPFL Premiership context, but I think it's becoming more and more of a problem in the cups. There was a time when, sure, Celtic or Rangers would win the league, but you felt that there was a chance of another club outwith those two lifting silverware. Now it feels like the early rounds are just a procession towards Hampden, then they get given more than half the ground and stroll to another meaningless cup. The only exception in recent years was St Johnstone's double which, funnily enough, was behind closed doors and away from the influence of their moronic fans both on players and referees.
  15. If you told me VAR was being actively sabotaged at this point I'd believe you.
  16. That wouldn’t be Paolo getting his material in 24 hours too early because he knew Hearts were getting pumped today, would it?
  17. So, just to confirm, the only aspect of technology in football which has (almost flawlessly) improved accuracy in decisions without detracting from the match-going fan’s experience of live football will not be featuring in Scottish football VAR, but just the highly contentious stuff instead? I am fully onboard now, let’s just sit back and laugh at it as it crashes and burns.
  18. And yet when I said this walking away from Hampden in May 2012 I was accused of being insincere?
  19. This is the most embarrassing ‘European campaign’ of all time. They shouldn’t even be here, it’s a third-rate competition that they qualified for via the technicality of losing a tie against Zürich. They qualified that for that Zürich game by piggybacking off the success of other Scottish sides in Europe and having satanic luck with the timing of their 3rd place finish. Any other season and they’d have been tucked away by Birkirkara again.
  20. Build a bonfire, build a bonfire…
  21. So my experience of watching Hibs vs St Johnstone is going to be fundamentally altered* because some sad, divorced f**k from Ayrshire can't accept that the beloved Rangers/Celtic he watches from his sofa don't win 100% of the time? *"There might not even be a VAR check". Doesn't matter, now that I know a Hibs goal can be chalked out for anything up to (potentially) five minutes after the ball has hit the net, the enthusiasm has gone.
